I've had 3 dresses altered here and had no problem. The prices are reasonable and location is closeby. They know how to alter clothes but they lack customer service. It wasn't their fault but one day at 1:15pm I went to pick up my bridesmaid dress and the entire plaza had a power outage. With my luck of course it was the day that I was leaving out of town for a wedding. Long story short I got a hold of the shop's owner from one of the workers working on the power who I'm assuming he got from the plaza's higher up or owner. Monica (tailor shop owner) was not nice over the phone & we spoke for 5 minutes. I told her my situation and she pretty much told me she couldn't help me get my dress for the wedding because she was "an hour away" and said "it's not my fault, even Kohl's has no power" as if I asked or cared about Kohl's. She recommended I pick up my dress the following day when I had already mentioned I was scheduled to leave at 4:30pm today. She also stated she could not open the door not only because she was an hour away but also because there was no power. News to me we need power to open a door with a key? .. then she got upset because I had her phone number and said "now everyone will be calling me" ?? As if I was gonna solicit her personal phone number. In the end she told me she could have someone open the store for me at 2pm which I was grateful for. So I waited. As soon as the door opened for me, me being thankful for them going out of their way (mind you it's their own business with paying customers), the son immediately & with attitude asked me what exactly happened and who I called to get his mom's number and he had a pad of paper to write everything down. First of all, attitude. It's your damn business, act like you care and act like a professional. Second of all, thank you for assuming that I had CALLED someone (he claimed I called a phone number to retrieve his mom's number which I did NOT). He complained that he had to drive 40 miles to open the shop for me, he accused me of harassing and discriminating his mother which I find hilarious because not once did I harass/discriminate/threaten her nor anyone involved, and he said my phone call to her was illegal. I suggested that they could've let their customers know the situation, the customers who had items to pick up that were already called in. But that was probably too much work for them. He responded "what do you want us to do? There's no power. Do you want us to sit here all day?" (May not be word for word but it was something along those lines). He was very rude, so I grabbed my dress and walked out sarcastically apologizing that he had to drive 40 miles for a PAYING CUSTOMER. Will never go back there again. I'm sorry (sarcasm) you had to go out of your way for one of your paying customers and ruined your unexpected day off of work. I am a registered nurse AND own a small photobooth business. I had one mishap (photobooth event) at 9pm when my employee called about one of our printers acting up during a wedding reception. So I left my house while I was getting ready for bed, went to grab another printer at my shop, drove 20 miles to the event, AND told the bride I was giving her two extra FREE hours of rental time for the technical difficulty ($150 value). That's how you do customer service. You represent your company. You want to make your customers happy so they keep coming back for more. Welp they just lost one customer and will also pass along to a few of my friends that have gone there to forget about that place. I'd rather drive 40 miles or 1 hour away to get my clothes altered than come back here. I hope this review helps because god forbid something similar happens, no one should have to go what I went through and be treated like crap and feel like you're a nuisance all because we chose to get clothes altered at your company.
