I came here to get two of my new jeans shortened and a sweater to fit. Mario gave me suggestions and it fitted me to my liking. The jeans were hemmed as if they were new (original hem). Make sure to wash your jeans and DRY it before getting it tailored .

Mario is the best tailor I've ever worked with. Hyperbole? Nope. I am an attorney, and I buy my fair share of suits, dress pants and sports coats. I'm on the short side at 5'7" with a 45" chest, and 35" waist, so nothing off the rack fits. I've moved around quite a bit during my career, and I've probably visited 5 to 6 different tailors over the last 5 years, with none really impressing me with customer service, price or quality. With that as the backdrop, I can say without hesitation that Mario has been the best tailor I've had tailor my clothes. He's personable, has a fun sense of humor, and quickly gets things fitted and measured. The cost is reasonable, and so far, I haven't had any issues with the work. In addition, and I'm kind of burying the lead here, his customer service is the real reason I'm writing this review (I don't write many). I had a wedding coming up, and my go-to suit pants ripped about a week before the festivities. I picked up a replacement suit and needed the pants hemmed. I stopped by Mario's on a Wednesday morning (~10AM), and asked if he could have the pants done by Friday at noon. He offered to have them done by 1PM the SAME DAY. I came back at 1, and sure enough they were ready. I was really impressed, and wanted to show my gratitude by giving him a good tip. He refused to take the extra money. Some people may not think this is a very big deal, given a pants hem isn't that hard to do, but the whole experience was really nice from a customer service perspective. Mario's is a great tailor business, and I'll be taking all of my clothes to him in the future.

I was originally thrilled to work with Mario, but the experience went sour. Two-second summary of my two-star review: - Seemed knowledgeable and capable. - Denied me service (after initially granting the day before). - Was defensive/paranoid after I asked my original vendor to speak with him. - Misled or lied to my original vendor. - We both kept civil tones during our exchanges. Mario, when you read this, I hope you’ll explain with more clarity exactly why/how you perceived I put your business in peril by simply asking my vendor to speak with you to verify the color for the wedding. [Update] I posted this review Tuesday night, 5/14/19. Mario immediately sent me some unfriendly texts, saying “Any damage to the business you going to be responsible for it every cost”. He then responded to the review with more inaccurate information, claiming he spent “nearly 3 days” on me and I was a “very difficult customer.” In fact, it was all over within 24 hours and he spent at most (being generous) 1.5 hours of service on me, nor was I an ornery customer. I have phone records and coworkers to provide compelling evidence of this. [/Update] The details: I am in an out-of-state wedding in June. The vendor does not have locations in MI, so I had to purchase the suit online without getting fitted by the vendor. The vendor sent me the wrong size originally but sent me a replacement. I ended up with two suits in my hand. I found Mario and was thrilled by the reviews and pricing. I’ve never had clothes tailored before, but Mario immediately struck me as more competent than the two tailors I had visited for measurements previously. Unfortunately, I realized I had grabbed the wrong pair of slacks for the suit Mario decided fit best. I made the 20-minute drive back to my house to pick them up. I had almost made it almost back to Mario’s before realizing I should call and verify the vendor sent me the right color. I gave the pants to Mario and called the vendor while I was still at Mario’s store, but couldn’t reach them. The vendor called me that evening, and we determined the color code on the suit I left with Mario was actually wrong. However, the replacement they had sent was the correct color. I had left the suit with Mario, so I gave Mario’s number to the vendor and asked them to call him to determine the best course of action. The vendor called me back and said Mario was rather uncooperative and that *Mario had said he’d already started work on the suit.* (I later learned that Mario had *not* started work on the suit. However, that was the unequivocal impression he gave to the vendor.) I called Mario the next morning and told him all that I wanted to do was verify the suits were the same color and leave him to continue work as planned. At this point, he mentioned how my vendor had called him up yesterday and he “didn’t appreciate that” among other things. As I recall, he told me “I’ve already opened it [the suit] up”. I apologized for consuming his time by talking to my vendor when I arrived. He became defensive again and began saying things like - “I’m not allowed to talk to manufactures.” - “I could lose my business.” None of this made any sense to me. I (nor my vendor) are aware of any such laws. We compared the suits and I was satisfied with the color. I was surprised when he stated “No, I won’t do this” and began removing the pins (which he had put in place while fitting me), saying - “You were here a half hour yesterday and I had to talk on the phone for 20 minutes.” - “I’m nobody’s personal tailor, I’m everybody’s tailor.” - “It’s wedding and prom season, I don’t have time for this.” I was shocked. Then he handed me the **unaltered** suit, with **tags still on.** I respect his right to grant/deny service if he doesn’t deem it profitable. But excuse me for thinking a tailor is supposed to be “personal”, make my clothing fit my body, and establish good customer relationships for the purpose of future profitability.

Went to get pants hemmed, instead what I got was insulted by Mario and told he wouldn't hem my pants because I bought the "wrong" size suit. Then he proceeded to make me try on "his" suit, and wanted me to buy one. Distasteful, why not just do the work you were asked to do.

I'm always nervous about going to a tailor. I've been placed where the alterations cost significantly more than the article of clothing or where the tailor unfortunately made me feel very uncomfortable or self-conscious. I was ecstatic to find Mario! He's so charismatic you can't feel uncomfortable. I brought two items, a dress and a heavy peacoat. He was very clear about what the options were for the alterations and even told me with the dress, for what I needed, he'd do it the cheaper way. I dropped them on a Monday afternoon and by Friday morning they were ready. For the quality, turn around and service the pricing is very reasonable. When I dropped off my items I had my three year old son with me. Mario was great with him too, even though he clearly had no obligation to entertain him, he teased him, chatted with him and even have him a little gift. My son still asks when we're going back! Definitely going back next time I need anything else done!

I had gone to other places, closer to my home, but all were overpriced, rude, and had given me just overall poor customer service. Mario, in the other hand, was able to do the hem of my dress that same day. He was kind and friendly. I needed my dress within 2 weeks. He called me within an hour! Not a good tailor if you are looking to have a suit fitted. He will try to tell you that you bought the wrong size and then proceed to try to sell you one of his suits. The work he did for me was terrible, and I ended up having to take it to another tailor to be fixed.
