I do not normally write reviews, but I felt compelled to inform people about the poor service that this seamstress provided.
It's unfortunate that I have to say that the owner/seamstress here does not offer quality customer service or workmanship. We just moved back to Michigan from Chicago and I was looking for a decent seamstress to hem some of my work pants and jeans. There are several tailor shops along Southfield Rd, so why I chose this one, I'm not certain. (Thought I'd support a small business). The owner measured me and I stated very clearly that I wanted my pants hemmed so that I could wear my flats and they didn't drag on the ground. (Please note that I wore the shoes as a point of reference). She pinned the front of the pants (over the top surface portion of my foot). I asked her if she was going to pin the back to make sure that the length matched all the way around. She assured me it was fine. That should have been a tell tell. When I picked up my pants and tried them on, they were still way too long. (I asked her if she even hemmed them). I had to convince her that she didn't do what I asked and that she needed to correctly hem all 3 pairs.
Frustrated, she said that they wouldn't be ready for 2 weeks. (I get it, she's upset that she messed up and has to redo the work.) I say fine and then have to convince her once again that the correction needs to be free of charge because it's her mistake, not mine.
Two weeks later, I pick up my pants and the hems are uneven. Just horrible workmanship and the owner had the nerve to tell me, "You pay $10." So sad and I feel bad for her because the workmanship is poor and out of frustration for own lack of skills she wants to take it out on customers. Needless to say I did not give her the $10, but out of pity I gave her the $6 cash I had on me. I would never, ever, recommend this shop, their work or services. Please beware.
