My experience with The Capital Tailor was unmatched. James provided the highest quality of service I’ve ever experienced. The in-store experience with Ramon and Raiza was also incredible. What a very knowledgeable team!!! They did an excellent job with assisting me with my custom suits from beginning to delivery. I am already looking forward to James expertise on custom sports jacket designs. I highly recommend them for ALL your custom tailor needs.

It was my first time in D.C. and not knowing where to go I found this gem! I needed my suit and pants hemmed, tapered, and taken-in for an event in two weeks. The staff are very professional, courteous, and best of all -- honest. The quality of service they provided left me more than satisfied, so I highly recommend! (FYI, they finished the suit a week before I needed it for the event!)

Such lifesavers! These guys aren’t just the best tailors I’ve encountered, they’re also absolutely the nicest! I brought in my favourite long puffer coat after getting a terrible tear in it- this was bad stuff, goose feathers flying out everywhere. Raiza was super lovely and talked me down from my panic. I had a flight later in the evening and I had already been to another tailor and they said they would have to send my coat away to fix it. However, she took me to see Ramon (the tailor) and he said he could definitely do it in 10-15 minutes. When I came back I couldn’t even see where it was torn. This was really magical work. Beautiful location! The shop is elegant, clean, and the attendants are very prompt and accomodating. The master tailor is actually there and available to assist and advise! Not to mention the selection of off the rack items is gorgeous. I can’t get this quality, with this level of style and customization anywhere else. It’s my go to shop now. Importantly, they are honest about what they can and cannot do in terms of alterations. They won't let you leave the store unless everything is just right. I fell in love my boyfriend’s suit! Their customer service is EXCELLENT! They don’t pressure you to get whatever is available, instead the beautiful young lady (I don’t remember her name) lol offers you different options and takes her time with you. She makes sure you are satisfied with the product and gives you ideas of what accessories you can use and colors to that can go with it. Wonderful people! We would definitely come back!

I met Ramon at another Tailor shop 8 years ago! I wasn’t satisfied with the service and what they were telling me there. Ramon has an eye for fashion and knows how to create and craft any garments. He explains the difference in fabrics and more importantly shows me the quality of the construction of the garment. The Capital Tailor is perfectly located in Georgetown on a street that’s not too busy. The shop is bigger than any other tailor shop with two floors. The Style Bar theme of creating and crafting your garment and options digitally is new in the fashion industry. The selection of top notch fabrics from all the most respected names in custom clothing. They even have ready to wear suits, jeans, shirts, ties, and jewelry and bead accessories. Ramon and Raiza are very hospitable when you come through the door. This is a place with a comfortable atmosphere, you don’t mind spending time in.

Being a professional and a churchgoer, I had plenty of traditional suits. But nothing that had panache, something that popped. So I took a trip to The Capital Tailor in Georgetown in search for something a little more fun to add to my wardrobe. In consultation with my friend James (who I've known for 40+ years) and master tailor Ramon, we picked out a suit that had a bit more color than I was used to. Ramon took some detailed measurements to ensure it had the proper fit for my build. When the suit (and custom shirt) came in, I returned for a fitting and then Ramon made some tweaks to give it a truly custom fit. Nothing off the rack could compare to the flattering fit, and James, Ramon, and Raiza made sure the entire experience was first-rate -- every need was attended to.

Recently I went to get some ideas on my dress jackets. By far they did an outstanding job....They listened and they took my ideas and bought them to life. I am constantly going there to get my cloth tailored to my style and even new styles they have done. They have out did themselves with the customer service and any concerns I might have. I admire the fact it's a family owned business. Ramon and Raiza work really well together and they make sure your extremely happy when you leave. It's always a pleasant experience to go there. I definitely recommend them.

Yo this place was amazing. They tailored 4 pairs of my pants and even when one wasn’t fitting the best they fixed it again free of charge. I really respect how they do waist lines and tapering. I also played guitar at their customer appreciation day. Lol. It was just an awesome experience and i will return for sure

Ramon and Raiza really go beyond expectations! They are, by far, the best in customer service that I have ever experienced. I took 3 pairs of dress pants that I needed hemmed by the very next day and Ramon was able to get them back the very same day I dropped off! All for such a low price! Also, I am very picky about how I want my altercations and Ramon did the hems exactly how I pictured, actually even better! Very happy customer.

Visited Capital Tailor last week with multiple tears on the backside of my leather jacket. Within three days, I received a message that the alterations were done--other tailors in the area had not wanted to try their hand on the job. Not only did they fix the tears, they added lining to the backside in a way that makes it look like part of the original design of my jacket. Excellent customer service and quality work, reasonably priced. Highly recommend.

I've never thought of purchasing a custom made blazer or suit for that matter but James Hammond and his colleagues changed my thinking. They convinced me that having a suit/blazer to be made to fit only me was something a successful professional man should have and I agreed, LOL. The atmosphere in the shop is very relaxing and it fits right in with the picturesque Georgetown.
