Carlos and Elizabeth truly saved my wedding day. I had last-minute alterations that needed to be done for my wedding dress, and they were willing to help. Elizabeth answered my email quickly and set up an emergency appointment for me with Carlos. They both made me feel so welcome. I immediately knew I could trust Carlos to help me make an informed decision about my dress. He is nothing short of genius, and his experience is very clear from his flawless work. Not to mention it was done in what must be record time! My dress fits like a glove, and I can't wait to wear it on my wedding day. Do yourself a favor, and bring all your tailoring needs to Techy's! great quality work at great prices. I have gone a few times to this tailor and the owner is just the best. he takes pride in his work and getting it done right. very personable and definitely all about his customers. I found this shop last year and got a purse latch fixed, which he did perfectly.

Choosing to get my wedding dress (and veil) tailored here was the single best decision I made while wedding planning. Carlos and Elizabeth were skilled, patient, and kind throughout the entire alterations process, and they both went above and beyond when I realized a problem (which was completely my fault) with my wedding dress two days before my wedding day. I honestly don't know what I would have worn down the aisle if Carlos hadn't worked so hard to fix what was entirely my mistake. His professionalism calmed me down during an extremely stressful time, and the last minute work he did on my dress was impeccable. I've never experienced customer service like this, where a busy business owner made me feel like I was family. If you're not sure where to get your alterations done for an important event, this is the place to go, hands down.

Let me begin by saying I'm not going back any time soon... However, that has more to do with the shop switching to a "by appointment" system as opposed to a "walk-in" system and declining to accommodate me. Now, if you're looking for a quality tailor who can produce excellent work in a reasonable time then you're not going to find anyone better in Northern Virginia. This is not hyperbole; it is a simple fact. The work and advice you receive is based on years of tailoring experience. I was once advised to return a suit rather than have it tailored and have brought others here. The work is such that an off the rack suit goes in and a truly bespoke product comes out. Though it is important to note that the work done is not limited to suits. I have had coats and even a ripped linen shirt (ripped along the chest line - a difficult fix at best) tailored and repaired. One day my pride and easily vexed nature will abate enough for me to go back. Until then, I cannot help but praise the exceptional quality of the work while quietly lamenting the passing of the time when I could walk in unannounced and feel as though this was my own personal tailor shop.

Techy's Tailoring did an amazing job with an evening gown I brought in; I have a bit of an unusual shape (small waist, but big arms for a woman), and not only did he get the dress to fit, but he kept it for a second round of alterations when I decided I just didn't like a certain aspect of the dress. The final product looks amazing, and he did all the work for an extremely reasonable price. Elizabeth at the desk is also incredibly nice and helpful, and worked with me on multiple occasions to find times I could come in despite my weird schedule.

I had very simple wedding dress alterations done here. They didn't tell me until everything was all set and done they had a mandatory wedding dress package with a very high fixed price for alterations. I paid DOUBLE what my wedding dress was worth for the alterations. I sat and cried in the parking lot for wasting that kind of money when I left Techy's. Had I known their fixed price was that high, I obviously would've gone elsewhere. With a wedding dress all ready to go for my big day, that was never how I expected to feel. I've never experienced customer service like that before. Just flat out hiding costly mandatory packages from your customers. Zero transparency. Sickening. Despite complaints and calmly explaining my situation, I've received no reimbursement, refund of any kind - or apology. These people shouldn't be rewarded with your business after tricking customers like they've done. Especially brides on a budget.

They require to take an appointment before you come! So be careful don't walk to them store with that! Also, you must take in advance your items will take with them for 2-3 weeks!

The Techys Tailoring Team are miracle workers! I had two dresses that were tailored somewhere else and were too small. Ack! I wasn't sure that anyone could fix this. My neighbors recommended that I try Techys Tailoring, and long story made short, they fixed everything! My two dresses now fit me perfectly! It is truly a miracle. I also had them tailor my pants, my faux leather jacket, and numerous other items. I am truly amazed at how top quality the tailoring craftsmanship is - I will only bring my clothing here from now on. Absolutely the best tailor that I have ever found in my life!

I found this shop as a result of Yelp reviewers. And they’re worth all the 5 stars. Carlos hemmed a dress for me for my cousin’s wedding, and it’s done impeccably. (I know what tailored-made is all about.) Their work is worth the price. You need to make sure you book your appointment is advance. I showed up to pick up my dress and I was very impressed with Carlos’ work. Not only did he do a fine job (my dress has pearls sewn throughout), he had pressed it at no extra cost. I’ll definitely be bringing all of my alterations to Techy’s. Thank you!

First and foremost, I would like to thank all of you who gave positive reviews of this amazing business. As a new resident to the DMV area, I had no idea where to get my wedding dress tailored. Prices everywhere seemed inflated and finding a place where quality and cost were fair seemed nearly impossible to find. Nearly impossible until I found Techy's Tailoring. I needed my dress to be rushed and tailored within a month and upon calling them they were able to schedule me in for three appointments in a month! They have afternoon options for those of us who work 9-5. Once I came into my appointment, Carlos was so kind and upfront about everything about my dress. He really helped me understand what adjustments the dress needed and told me the price upfront. Upon picking up my dress, I got everything I asked for and everything we agreed upon. No surprises, just kind & honest people, professional service, and warm memories!
