The designs aren't bad, but I think the quality of the dressmaking and the stitching itself is subpar. Understandably, it didn't cost much, but I would rather pay a little more and get excellent results, than settle for something cheap, price and quality wise.

Nicole is simply amazing at making clothes look good on you. She is not only a tailor, but a style consultant and adapts her tailoring to your body shape and size and is meticulous in ensuring that everything is adjusted optimally. I have taken virtually all my nice clothes to her and even as she is pinning, they look so much brighter and better. I could not recommend her more highly.

Hard to see from the street. Inside Repeat Performance store. Small red and white sign under the roof. Otherwise she's amazing and quick and nice. Super satisfied.

If I could give ten stars, I would. Nicole did an amazing job on my bridesmaid's dress. She added puff sleeves from extra fabric, shortened the hem from floor length to a lovely tea length, and made the bodice and waist fit so much better. She turned a nightmare of a dress into a dream. I've asked her for advice on a lot of clothes over the years, and she's always helpful if you have an issue with fit. I'm plus size and her knowledge and skills have always been a boon. Her prices are competitive, especially considering she's a genius with sewing. She also makes bespoke clothing, as she is a top class fashion designer. All in all, you will not find a better tailor for the price. Worth the drive to Olney, MD from anywhere in the DMV area, and maybe further than that. Edit: Now located at 5050B Nicholson Ln next to Repeat Performance.

There aren't enough wonderful things I can say about Nicole and her work. After having another dress destroyed by a terrible seamstress just before a gala 2 years ago, I was reluctant to tailor another dress. But after I found an almost perfect dress online, I realized it had to be altered. I saw Nicole's website online through a simple search of alterations near me and read the reviews. Skeptical but hopeful, I took my dress to her for changes. She was AMAZING! She did a complete overhaul of my dress to my desires and specifications. She was knowledgeable and adaptable to my last minute request of a sweetheart neckline. She put a bone in my zipper to help keep the back structured. She hemmed 3 tiers, layering each perfectly. She did so much in so little time and didn't try to overcharge at all! I am so delighted to have her as my seamstress now. She has a devoted client.

I went online in Facebook land and asked for a recommendation and Designs by Nicole was an overwhelming favorite. My daughter is only 4 11 1/2 and even the petite gowns do not fit. Nicole was able to get us in and out on VERY short notice with a week turn around. She even had some jewelry so we didn't need to go to my favorite store CC..shhhh . I would highly recommend her. VERY accommodating. You will not be disappointed

I began to visit Nicole when she was located in Olney in 2005 for my wedding dress alterations, though my family had been going to her for longer with their alteration needs for far longer. I’ve also had them work on a few dance costumes and my husband’s uniforms. Nicole and her staff are amazing. My wedding dress is still being talked about 12 years later. They’re the best!!!

Nicole did a wonderful job on a Versace sweater dress I found at a thrift store that had a tear at the shoulder. I dropped it off on a Thursday and I picked it up on Friday, the next day. She was very sweet and I highly recommend bringing dresses to her for repairs and tailoring

My wedding gown came to smell oddly after kept in her store for two months during alteration. Also, there were some marking pins left in my gown, which I just noticed after the wedding. I think her service is not as good as rated here. careless and fall short.

I visited Nicole for some rush alterations on my wedding dress. She was a pleasure to work with, very reasonably priced, and finished up my dress with plenty of time before the big date. Nicole hemmed all my dress layers to create a train/bustle that's perfect for my beach wedding. I'll definitely be back with any future alteration needs.

I met Nicole when I interned for her. I was able to see the care and time she invested in her clients. If anything I have learned from her is to listen and be honest. She is very qualified to do alterations, custom design, and whichever someone needs. She has a wondeful team that gives the same to everyone.
