I have been doing business with B & K Customer Tailors for over three years. I've taken literally dozens of garments to them for alteration. No matter how complicated the alteration is, it has always been perfect and to my satisfaction. There are few businesses about which I can say that. Let me give you an example of the quality of clothing I let B & K alter for me. A Prada fox vest that retails for thousands of dollars came to me with armholes that were too small and no closure. B & K immediately understood how to make changes. A J. Mendel ball gown that retailed for over $6,000.00 had a complicated bodice that needed to be let out. B & K had to deconstruct the entire bodice and did an excellent job to make the dress fit me. A Michael Kors plucked mink vest retailing at over $4000.00 needed to be taken in. Taking in a horizontal mink vest is quite difficult work. The finished product was one that you would never know I had alterations done, even looking on the inside. What about less expensive projects like shortening jeans? I have had them shorten all my jeans and pants and shorts over the past three years and have been completely satisfied. Once, and only once, I needed a do-over on the length and they did not charge me extra. Are they on time? Absolutely. How do they compare to a local dry cleaner shortening pants? Well I tried that once and the local dry cleaner managed to make the hem uneven with the stitching going ever which way. You will never see that kind of workmanship coming out of B & K. Prior to B & K doing my work, I had my clothes altered in New York by the likes of Mandana and Madame Paulette and Bergdorf Goodman. B & K is not just as good as those three stars of clothing and alterations, but in its willingness to take on the hard projects and be creative, B & K outshines them.
