I would maybe go back to get pants hemmed but not for formal wear. It was $110 to get a bridesmaid dress hemmed, taken in a little, and to have the straps shortened- which I thought was a bit much but not extreme. She shortened the straps too much for me to be able to move or lift my arms. There was also some kind of greasy stain on the dress, about hip level. I saw it before I put the dress on but when I pointed it out to her, she insisted that I must have gotten deodorant on the dress when I tried it on. 1- deodorant doesn't look like that 2- how would I get deodorant on the outside of the dress (which I stepped into) around my hip level? I didn't feel like pushing it because it's not terribly obvious and I only need to wear the dress once but I don't think she handled that very professionally.
