Unexpected closure on the day I need my dress for the ball tonight. A phone call would have been more professional. Instead I get there this morning to a hand written notice on the door that wasn’t there when I dropped off my dress for alterations. Unbelievable!!

I dropped a dress off that I needed to be altered (about an inch of length taken off) on a Tuesday (Nov. 12th) and needed it for the Friday after (Nov. 23rd) So it was there for about a week and a half. I was promised that my dress would be done the next Wednesday (Nov. 21st). I went on my lunch break on Wednesday to pick up the dress and it had not been touched! I was then told to come back that evening and it would be done. I called before I left work and she proceeded to tell me she still hasn't touched it that she would call me when it was done. I never received a phone call after that. Now I'm in a panic and so is the bride because Of course the next day was Thanksgiving so yes they were closed. The wedding is the 23rd about 1 hour away from slidell in Mississippi. The wedding is for 4 and we have to be at the venue for 12! I have now been calling since 9am (when they open) and I have not gotten an answer. 45 minutes after chain calling the store, I finally get an answer and it STILL HAS NOT BEEN TOUCHED!! I asked my husband to grab it for me because I'm with the bridal party as we speak getting ready for the wedding that I need this dress for and told her to leave it as is because it's too late now! My husband gets there and she has cut the dress and is just now doing it! Hopefully it comes out right and it can get up here in time. This is ridiculous and unprofessional. I WILL NOT be using them again!

Tam is one the best seamstresses you'll find in the Slidell, St. Tammany area. No job's too big. Excellent and on time service. Highly recommended for alterations and laundering.

I am not one to leave reviews, but to say I am disappointed in Tan's Alterations is an understatement. Two weeks ago I dropped off a coverall to have the arms and legs brought in as it was too baggy. Everything went fine when I dropped it off, pinned properly and such, and I left the rest to them. When I came back today to pick it up, to say I was surprised was an understatement. For starters, I had requested that the full length of the leg be brought in. Only the calf area had been done, the thigh COMPLETELY untouched. And the area that had been done was WAY too tight. It had not been done to the same tightness as the pinning, as when that was done it fit properly and I had approved of it. I had to essentially peel the pant off of my calf. This wasn't even the worst part though! The arms had not even been touched! SO much so that the PINS WERE STILL LEFT IN IT AND GIVEN BACK TO ME. The seams on the arms had not even been broken. They fit exactly as they had before I brought it to them. To say I am disappointed is an absolute understatement. I gave Tan's TWO WHOLE WEEKS to complete the alteration and they did not even do half of the job. I will forever be taking my business elsewhere. It is just a shame I will not get the money I apparently wasted back.

Tans is perfect! She is very talented and great at everything I have brought her from jeans to formal dresses! I would recommend anyone to bring your alterations to Tans in slidell!

Very happy with the alterations and the prices were totally reasonable. Been here twice. She worked with me to help me decide how I wanted it altered and even explained how clothes work a little bit. Only con is how long alterations take, a week even for a little thing. But if they're popular and busy because they're good I should understand.
