I have been to Sun-Oak Tailors two times. Both times I had men's dress slacks hemmed. The ladies who work there are friendly and my pants were ready when they said they would be ready. The price is reasonable around $8 a pair for slacks.

Just terrible! Hemming a dress should not cost as much as the dress! Looks unfinished and completely wrinkled. Don't waste your money you will feel like you've gotten ripped off

The tone in SunOak's rebuttals convinces me that I won't become a customer there: either the angry patrons who left bad reviews were misled or they were not guided through the process very well, but regardless I am disturbed by a business that takes the time to respond to angry reviews in somewhat smug language, displaying little remorse. Be humble.

I've used SunOak Tailor for at least the past 8 years, and I've never had a single issue with their service or work. They've cut down jackets and formal dresses for me (practically remaking them in order to fit me), done small alterations, such as hemming pants and skirts, or taking up a shirt in the shoulder... All with beautiful outcomes. My clothes are always returned in flawless condition as well! They've done work for my family, friends, and my fiance as well. No complaints. I'm constantly surprised at the negative reviews that I see them receive, because it never fits with the experience that I have. #happycustomer

I will NEVER go there again. Ruined my bridesmaid dress and still demanded we paid for alterations. Admitted she made a mistake then we left the dress for another week hoping she could fix it. When I went back, dress was still not wearable. Owner was very rude and raised her voice to me.

I have had over 10 100% wool suits tailored here without a hitch or a problem. Always done right the first time as opposed to Dillard's alterations, etc

Charged me $135 for bridesmaid dress alterations that should have cost <$60 (hem and taken in at the waist). No complicated fabrics or patterns on the dress. Dress was still too large and had loose threads. Waste of my money and time.

I was given a receipt and was told it would be 85$ when i first dropped off my dress then ended up being $125?! Then when I tried it on she told me to “lift my ladies” to fit the top she did not fix. I confronted her and she would not budge on price. Awful service. Awful owner.

I would never recommend Sunoak Tailor, especially for weddings. Sunoak did a terrible job on my wedding dress alterations, especially for the price. My dress was not ready on the scheduled date and had to be pushed back twice. The hem for the length was noticeably uneven and I did not have time to get it fixed. THANKFULLY, I did have time for someone back home to fix the bodice and waist alterations for the wedding but not my bridal pictures. The lady I got to fix my dress said Sunoak only took in the inside of the dress and not all the extra material on the outside. So, Sunoak did take the dress in on the inside but because the visible, outside material was not taken up, the dress still looked way too big. The lady I got to fix it, stated she had to remove 4+ inches in the outside material. Oh, Sunoak also said they couldn't put a bustle in my dress but again, thankfully the second lady I took it too was able to do a bustle. Sunoak charged me $330+ (not including the extra cost I had to pay someone to fix everything) and inconveniently only would accept cash. The lady that fixed my dress only charged $60 to properly alter the dress, to add a bustle, to spot clean the dress, and completed all this the week of my wedding!

Bait and switched. I took my son in to have two pair of corduroy pants hemmed. He tried them on and then the seamstress pinned them. She wrote my ticket, but didn't write a price. I asked. She said 7.50 each, so I wrote it on my portion of the ticket. When I picked them up she had written 20.00 plus tax on her portion of the ticket. When I asked why, she said this was due to the fabric. Now mind you, I'd just had jeans hemmed here for 7.50. I didn't argue because I just wanted to go. They don't take cards so I began to write a check. The woman said she couldn't take it because it doesn't have my address on it. I offer my drivers license, which does, and she begins to copy ALL of my information onto the check. Needless to say, we argued about the need for this. I finally gave her the check as she wanted it, but will never return. If you use this business, at least now you know. Watch your tickets and pay in cash.
