I can’t really recommend this place for shoes that are worth your money after my experience.
Pay-in-full at drop off, poor finish work, no notice of ready for pick-up.
The shop is clean and they have finished shoes behind the counter in bags, organized and well kept.
I gave them a pair of black rockports that needed new soles all black, far from special or custom.
I explained i needed new soles for my shoes and a lady glanced at them them only to identify the type of shoe and then without any eye contact plainly barked it will be $70. Then followed up in a defending tone saying work is paid up front because people leave their shoes and they go unclaimed.
At this point I am only slightly concerned she just spit out a number and there was no interest in my specific shoe and what work needed to be done or what it will take to be done or the pay before work is finished scheme. I get it they are Simply shoes and shoe repair knows exactly what is needed in an instant, I would expect. So i set my doubts aside, paid for work unseen, filled out their contact form and Waited for a notice they were done.......
4 weeks later still no call. I assumed they were done at this point unless there was an issue they hadn’t got around to tell me about, either way i was getting my shoes back. They were done! Of course that’s skipping ahead..
I return, walk in and wait to get service. Lady from the back of the room yells asking what I needed. In pause, Im just not at all thrilled about the customer service experience i have received the only two time I’ve entered this store. I replied that i was picking up shoes. She couldn’t hear me or understand so she yelled “what”... mind you she hadn’t put down doing work in the back to service me. I raised my voice to hopefully communicate im not thrilled at this game and that im here to get my shoes. She quickly makes it to counter and then asked for my name. Grabs my bag of shoes puts them on the counter. At this point i look down and i am un sure if she was honestly ending the transaction of the shoes this way and hoping i would just run out. I go ahead and check that the soles ore properly tied down and then quickly notice that the only visible part of the soles on the edges look like they were done with a pocket knife... i just decided to cut my losses and say nothing about it and find another place to have shoes worked on in the future. I said thank you. Upon leaving she hadn’t said thank you for coming or the business, have a nice day or goodbye, so i stop and repeated saying goodbye and waited for something. She finally said just “goodbye”. Yes that is what it is, a goodbye for terrible service, poor workmanship and my business.
Add - the stitching on one of the soles is cut and will likely progress to fail. I haven’t used them yet so this was another fail of workmanship. Just no good.
