I had a terrible experience with the 2 women who work there. They were extremely rude and unprofessional, acted as if it was a chore to assist me and treated me as if I was overweight garage. I'm well under 200 lbs. After all of that, they seemed surprised when I told them I was going to a different tailor shop! I found a great place down the street who did everything that these 2 ladies claimed was impossible to do. Save your time and money, don't do business with these discriminatory people.

Only in KC. You can get twice the quality of any other local tailor/clothing store, for half the price. Dan's been right here and doing this for decades for a reason, he's f*ing amazing at it. If you need an extra nice suit for a wedding, bar mitzvah, graduation, or other special occasion, or just want to look ridiculously ridiculously good looking, let him take care of you

Dan really went out of his way to help me out. I recently purchased a suit and needed it in a real hurry. Not only did Dan get the tailoring completed very quickly, he even waited for me after hours to pick up the suit the night before I needed it. He really went out of his way for me. The suit itself is great and the price very, very reasonable. He does provide personal service and great quality!

As poor of a tailor that you can find! Pathetic excuse for a tailor. Rude. Late. Loses the fabric. Completely lies to you about what his plans is. He doesn't care what you think or how you look. Please dont have your wedding ruined by this lazy man. Absolutely terrible. I had to pay $75 to get the suit jacket properly tailored. Dan is terrible at his job.

If I could give this place zero stars, I would. I ordered a custom fitted suit on July 23rd, which he promised would fit like no other suit I own. He wasn't lying. He said he would have it ready in a week. I should have know it would go bad when he took NO measurements. NONE! After a little over a week, I called him. He said the order seemed to have disappeared. He then stalled and said he remembered me and it would take another week. I was to wear this for an event on August 9. He said, don't worry you will have it in plenty of time. He called me on August 5th at 12:06, while I was at work. By the time I got off, he was closed. I worked Saturday and he is closed Sunday. I went Monday early, He again, didn't take ANY measurements. He grabbed the pants and said, "That feel OK?" He folded my pant legs, marked them and I was on my way. He asked I come back after 5 pm and it would be ready. I showed at 5:40. The suit fit like one that you rent when they don't want to actually cut the material. The arms were too short, the legs on the pants were too long and the jacket was big. I told him I thought that he had ordered a size too big. He said I didn't know anything about suits. He said had been in business for 40 years and this was the first time anyone had complained (not true, look at the reviews) and he was stumped. He said he didn't know what I wanted. He said this as he was raising his voice, with another customer in the store. He kept telling the customer that the suit was perfect (as if he was paying for it and not I) and that I had no clue what I was talking about. He said there he had fitted over 2,000 suits and I he knew what was best. I told him I would bring him one of my other suits for him to measure. The arm inseam fit AWFUL!! He said that was normal. I couldn't put my arms in front without the whole suit moving. I left as he was complaining that he was late to his appointment, even though according to his store hours, he wasn't closed yet. I told him I didn't meant to upset him, but the suit simply did not fit. He said I could pick up the suit on August 9th (Day of my event) and he would have it done. Would you have been pleased? I left the store and proceeded to watch him through the store window complain to the other customer about me. He was mad. I decided to call him and inform him that what he did was rude. I told him I wouldn't be coming back and he had lost a customer. Hopefully he will think about offending customers and their tastes to their face and to other customers. He has a big ego and acts like he doesn't need your business. He may not, as he kept bragging about his yellow corvette and how he just got the wheels painted to match. I told him that just like his yellow corvette, not everyone has the same tastes. I was paying for a suit that fit my needs, not his or his other customers. He tries to talk over you. That's part of the problem. He doesn't listen to his customers. He is good at telling you how much of an expert he is and how your tastes in suits is awful. What a way to sell. I encourage you to look elsewhere for a suit, unless you want to be talked down to, offended and want a suit that looks like you rented it. He may have 40 years of experience, but his work is not good and his customer service is almost non-existent.

Where to start with this place? Dan has got to be the most unorganized business owner I have ever seen. He gave me a date when my clothes would be ready three different times and they were all wrong. When my fiancé confronted him on the issue, he down played his own mistake. Dan will consistently tell you not to be concerned and that you will get everything you need before the desired date, but continue to be incredibly unorganized. You will spend more at Men's Wearhouse but it is well worth saving you a headache. The quality of materials and his tailoring is good but he cannot be trusted. Over the course of a couple months, I had to check in with him 4-5 times to make sure he was on top of things but it wasn't until the day before my wedding that things were finalized. Avoid this place like the plague.

This review is not about the suits themselves, I did not end up doing business there so I cannot speak to the quality of his suits. I did not have a good experience while at Dan's Clothier & Tailor Shop. When I walked in, Dan was very helpful. I wanted to get a suit altered for my wedding. He showed me why the suit I bought at Jos A Bank was of lesser quality than the suits he sells in his shop. I appreciated the tutorial, however I was not in the market for a new suit (since I just bought one). No big deal, I've received similar sales pitches at other suit shops. Later, Dan started to try to talk me out of the suit color that I already bought (a lighter Navy) saying that Navy was boring & that I needed to be less conservative. Again, I appreciated the input but was not looking to make changes that close to my wedding. However Dan was very persistent. He went so far as to say that anyone who decided what colors of suits to wear from a picture on Pinterest or a Magazine knew nothing of weddings. He is also a photographer so he is the expert. He proudly showed me photos of a wedding that he was in & carefully pointed out why his fashion sense was superior to mine (he didn't say that directly but it was heavily implied). I was not there to buy a suit, but he went to great lengths to sell me on his suits and his fashion consultation services. He repeatedly trashed Jos A Bank & Men's Warehouse for having cheap suits. Very understandable, this is his livelihood and he feels as though Jos A Banks is selling their customers short. He even showed me an article condemning the merger of the two companies (yeah, they are owned by the same people now). About 10 min into my visit, a lady walked in complaining that her son's suit was not altered the way he liked. Dan Dan started out very apologetic and willing to fix it. As the conversation progressed, it was clear that she and her son were very displeased and Dan Dan refused to validate their grounds for concern. After she left, I immediately grabbed my suit and left also. I walked away feeling that if I did business with him, he would put his desires for my suit/wedding above my own.

Dan took care of me!!! I I had an interview on Wednesday and I went in to his store the Friday before and my suit was ready the Monday before my interview. Free alterations for the life of the suit. I'm a bigger guy and short and he took care of it. Not judgement all about my size either. A real professional.

My family and I have been using Dan for years. All three of us have had our wedding suits made here and loved them. Cynthia is a darling and is always friendly and ready to help. You can't beat the price and quality here. I feel like family every time I come in. When my father was sick and lost a bunch of weight Dan tailored his suits to fit him perfectly again. I have never felt comfortable or welcomed at the big box stores and paid twice as much. I can only speak highly of Dan and his shop!

They must have thrown away the mold when Dan was born. I swear he is not only honest but he is an absolute magician. We were on our way to Men's Warehouse to get my son fitted for his tux for prom. A friend told me to try Dan, whom she has known for years. Dan suggested I get 1 suit, for both graduation and prom. The prom was that Saturday, it was Tuesday when we walked in. He insisted that he could have the suit and shirts altered in time. Not only was fitting done in no time at all, he did finish before Saturday came and my son looked like a model. The suit was a beautiful Italian suit with a gorgeous shirt. After all alterations, I was better off spending a little extra than renting a tux from MW. My son is so sold on Dan, he refuses to go anywhere else for any of his formal affairs.

Just aweful. Tailoring is never right, avoids you until you have to chase them down to deliver what you order or fix there mistake. In my opinion it feels like maybe they are going out of business or something because I dealt directly with the owner. In my opinion I would stay away, like I said, seems like they are closing down.

Terrible establishment. Called ahead to see if they can hem a dress in two days and Dan assured me he can do it. Dropped the dress off immediately and triple confirmed they can have my dress ready since I'm going to a wedding. Came to pick up my dress two days later and they havent even started on it! Why promise something if you can't deliver?? AVOID AT ALL COST!

Best quality, best prices with a 1 day turn around. The quality of suits Dan carries would easily cost 2 to 3 thousand dollars at Hall’s or Dillard’s. Dan charges a fraction of that price. Dan Dan the tailor man is simply the best. I’m glad I went with my gut after reading the negative reviews because I got more than I wanted at a price I challenge anyone to find elsewhere. You can’t go wrong with Dan I guarantee he’ll take care of you just like he did me. It’s a great experience.

Dropped off a pair of new jeans to get them hemmed the right length. I was supposed to pick them up on a Tuesday evening, but I couldn't make it and went in Wednesday instead. They weren't ready and I had to wait while someone finished them. When I received the pants, the hem was not even nor consistent around the pant leg. In some parts the hem is thicker than others. In general it looks like it was very poorly done, and when you look at it, it looks like it was done by an amateur. When I confronted them about this they kept telling me that it was too thick or stiff to go through their machine properly. So their solution was to force it through even though it looks terrible? They didn't even offer to fix it. Absolutely terrible pant hem. Even worse customer service.
