I believe this place is closing soon, but I have used their services twice in the past 15 years, and on both occasions I have received outstanding service. As long as they are open for business, any tux rental or alterations I might need in the Iowa City area will be done here.

Extremely rude, brought in a suit with hopes to get tailored and was only met with belligerent responses from one of the head staff. Shunned me for not buying in store when money is tight as a college student, made me feel disrespected and will not be ever coming in again.

I brought a pair of jeans in for a very minor repair, just to get a replacement zipper. Right from the beginning they were very friendly and helpful. They finished the repair about three days before they said they would and it was done excellently, for a very fair price.

Went with my father to get my first blazer here, staff was extremely helpful, patient, and in good spirits throughout the whole process. I'm a short stocky guy so my fit is a very difficult one but the tailoring was done perfectly. Extremely happy with the store, the service, and the product!

Ewers provides classic men's clothing in an atmosphere that professionals will appreciate. The staff are excellent and good humored. These men know what they are doing for the adult shopper. The clothes are excellent and well made. I suspect that the two conflicted reviews posted here were written by men who don't understand the classy style and level of service and products offered by Ewers. The store is an Iowa City gem.t

I brought in an inexpensive shirt that I purchased elsewhere to have some tailoring done. The staff was extremely efficient and helpful. He made sure that I was happy with the fit and happily adjusted it when I requested changes. The two reviews preceding mine do not accurately reflect the store.
