Walked in at 3:56 not realizing they closed at 4. My intentions were to leave the coat and them to call me with what it would take to repair the zipper. They inspected the zipper and fixed it right then and there!! They responded you can’t go without your coat in this weather! So kind and awesome!! Highly recommend them. This is my second time at the shop and they were great the first time as well!!

I took two dresses in for alterations but I got the impression that she is only capable of the simplest of hems. She was a bit rude about it as well. I felt like she thought I was being ridiculous in my request. I wanted to keep the details at the bottom of the hem but the dress was too long so I ask her to hem it at the waist. I appreciate her being honest that she couldn’t do it but I didn’t appreciate her attitude that my request was beyond the realm. Don’t advertise you do alterations when you don’t.

Best tailor in town.

Do not take a wedding dress here. They made mine much worse, and I had to take it to someone else to fix the damage.

After 2 formal gown alterations I couldn't be happier. The alterations are well done and completed in a timely manner.

As I posted yesterday, our experience there was horrible. Suddenly my post has disappeared which I also find interesting... I actually had come back to Google to edit what I typed and found the whole thing deleted. Now I have to wonder how many other poor experiences have somehow vanished in, what appears, to be a new listing for the same store. The hemline on the dress we brought in is just horrible. The top two layers, mesh, are cut crooked. The bottom two layers are hemmed neatly but they are not what we asked for. The back is hemmed longer in a circle and the front is straight. We just wanted the hem to be even all the way around. Now the back is a good six inches too long and the prom dress will require heels that are so tall they don't exist except on street corners. The mesh on the outer layer is crooked and looks awful. We also asked sleeves to be hemmed. It was a mesh nude netting. She folded it over and sewed it right up to be darker on the underside so it doesn't match the rest of the sleeve and looks awful. We asked to be given the excess fabric and have it saved. We were not given any saved fabric. We went to this store because of so many positive reviews online. I see now that these comments are skewed in the stores favor by making sure poor reviews don't stay online. Our experience was truly terrible. I expected professional work when we paid the price we did. We didn't get that.

Took a dress in, needed hemmed woman claimed it was "formal" and wasn't doing those right now. First of all it's not formal, second it's not prom or wedding season so I don't see why she couldn't do it, third she was VERY rude about it and the hours are garbage. Don't recommend it.

I've had men's dress pants hemmed, dress seam repairs, outdoor furniture fabric altered. Professional work with timely results.

I took my prom dress to be altered here and the experience was really disheartening. I asked the seamstress whether she would be able to sew the plunging neckline of my dress to be more modest, take out excess fabric of the sleeves, and hem the dress. She told me that she would be unable to fix the neckline because of the fabric and layering, which was understandable, but she yelled over to my mother “have you seen this? Are you sure you want her wearing this?” Which is not only embarrassing, but also unprofessional as I am an adult and a paying customer. When my mom responded, “she’s the one who wants it more modest. I’m fine with how it is,” the seamstress made a a face that she obviously disagreed...which again was not professional. Ultimately the dress was hemmed, albeit unevenly. The sleeves’ excess fabric was merely folded over and sewed rather than cut out and sewed back together. This made it bulky and ugly. I would never reccomend or return to The Sewing Shop. The service was weird, awkward, and unpleasant.

I had my wedding dress altered here in 2015, and I was pleased with the outcome. My dress had several layers and needed to be both taken in and shortened. I also had a bustle added. Although I was a little disappointed that they would not add some snaps I wanted (which the bridal shop recommended to keep the strapless dress in place), I appreciated that thth knew their limits and didn't want to mess anything up with the tricky material. The woman was patient with me trying on the dress as many times as I did and worked with me to make sure it fit right and the way I wanted. I got a better price than I would have a the bridal shop where I purchased the dress. Thank you!

I've dealt with this shop for many years & they have sewn hems in bluejeans, put zippers in jackets and much more. They do quality work & I wouldn't go anywhere else. Work is done in a timely manner.

They did a great job shortening 2 pairs of dress pants and charged a fair price, $10 each. They even offered to shorten them in a way that would not show any stitches to help them look more classy. I was very happy with the quality of work and service. Also, as it would make sense, they asked me to pay only after they were done, I tried them on, and I was happy with the pants.
