I cannot recommend this place because they nearly ruined my expensive Diesel jeans. I had them replace the zipper and they had them for an entire week. When I picked them up and got them home, I unzipped snd unbuttoned them and the stitching came out. Upon further look at them they did a very bad job on putting in the zipper. All they did was take out original and sewed in new zipper adding stitching where it was not supposed to have stitching. Just put new zipper in place and stitched all from outside. I not good at sewing, but even I could have done a better job. I paid $16 and had to take them to another seamstress to get that very bad job fixed and paid another $15. I would give them no stars, but 1 star is the worst you can give them. BEWARE they dont seem to know ehat they are doing.

I came to Sue's with my head down and hoping for a miracle. My dress needed to be taken out 3 inches and hemmed for my 5 foot 2 inch body!! The wedding was only 5 days away and I was just waiting to be laughed at but no! Sue and Pricilla did such amazing work in JUST 48 HOURS! She is fantastic and the work is impeccable! Sue did a PHENOMENAL job on my wedding dress. Sue had to alter almost a foot off of my dress in the length to fit me. I was nervous about having to get so much work done on my dress. When I went to pick up my dress, she insisted that I try it on, look it over top to bottom to make sure that I was 100% satisfied before I paid and took my dress home. My dress fit perfectly, as if it was custom made just for me. I can not say enough about how Awesome Sue is. She was fantastic to work with when I needed my bridesmaid dress altered. The dress was about a foot too long and she hemmed it. After I got it back and talked to the other bridesmaids, they decided they were all going to go a bit shorter. I called Sue and she told me to come back. She shortened it by another inch free of charge and gave me tips to make it look even better.

Sue's Alterations is the ONLY place I would ever go to. I have always taken some clothes there to be altered and they were always done to perfection and at a very reasonable price. The reason for this review is my wedding gown. I have since moved to Saginaw, and when I got my gown, I took it to a place in Auburn. They quoted me $325, which is average for a wedding gown, but the told me it needed to be hemmed, and it would be more since I needed it to be let out since I gained weight. I didn't think it needed to be hemmed so I decided to make the drive to see Sue. I went with my sister and mom and when I put my wedding gown on Sue said it did not need to be hemmed which we all agreed. She let it out, added a bustle and sewed in cups. Go ally price $150. Sue is very honest and does not add things to get an extra buck. She had it done in a week and it fit lime a glove. I will never go anywhere other than to see Sue. Thank You, Sue!! You truly are talented and do a suburb job!

Sue’s Alterations is the best place to get to get your alterations done. John was absolutely helpful. We stopped in on a Monday afternoon for a last minute alteration for a Thursday wedding he had it done Tuesday afternoon 2 days ahead of schedule. All after we had already dropped it off somewhere else and they had it for a week and had not even started it. We will definitely use sue’s and John for all of our alterations needs from now on . In response to Benjamin Brandt review I was there, Sue was in an appointment, he walked in with tons of questions during Sue's wedding dress appointment. Benjamin had no patience, Sue tried answering as many questions as she could trying not to be rude to her customers that were in an appointment. One of the last questions that he asked was it possible to take the sides of his jacket I little bit more and why was this jacket the best fit Sue stated if she took the jacket in more on the sides the slit in the back would spread open and that the slit needs to lay on top of each other and that he had broad shoulders if he wanted a jacket more fitted to his body type he would have to get his suit custom made by the tailor which would cost thousands of dollars. Sue has altered many pieces for me her work is very neat and very fast service and affordable . She is the best in Indianapolis:)

Sue is very nice and she is fast. However, I have to rate 2 stars. The quality was not good. She tighten up my daughter’s (flower girl) spaghetti strap for my wedding and the strapped popped off. Sue did not re-attached the strap well. My daughter was devastated that her chest was showing. We had to find a safety pin which looked horrible in our wedding photos. We now have to pay extra to get the safety pin photo shopped out of the photos.

She was able to take it out, tighten the straps, add a bussle, and the biggest task... bring a lace dress up so that I wouldn’t be tripping down the aisle. I highly recommend her! No these aren't fake 5 star reviews, they're people who are actually happy with what they had gotten done. I have a hard time with buying men's jeans that are actually skinny because I weigh 102 pounds, but Sue managed to take a pair of my jeans I brought in and slim them up perfectly without hardly any explanation on what I wanted, easily earned an A+. Dropped them off Tuesday, picked them up Thursday, can't complain at all! Don't be afraid to Tip, she deserves it! ( and no I don't work for her, she's just great at what she does ). 10/10

AMAZING! I cannot say enough good things about Sue. I had ordered a handmade wedding dress online, and had given my measurements and the dress still came too small, I had to tug to get it up over my butt and hips and even then it was not even close to zipping and buttoning. I have only 24 days until my wedding and only 22 until we leave (its an elopement destination wedding) and had just gotten it in the mail, I thought there was no way that I would find anyone that would be even able to alter it that much to make it fit let alone get it done in time. I called yesterday for an appointment today and took the dress in this morning for her to see what she could do...she had me come back 3 1/2 hours later to see if the changes she is going to make will even work...I came back and was not only able to pull it up but get is zipped also. She is also going to have it done with plenty of time before I leave...she will have it done in a little over a week. I cannot wait to see it when it is done. I was so sad thinking I was going to have to find some off the rack dress, Sue is making my dream dress possible. She is just as sweet as can be, quick and talented as well as her prices are very fair. I would highly recommend her to anyone and will be coming back for sure. Thank you so much Sue!! I took my husband's pants to the Sweging Lady for a simple alteration job and they screwed up the pants and did not want to admit it.After having a long argument(being treated rudely as well) and understanding their capability and they asked me to go to next door, Sue's Alterations, for the fix. Completely screwed up my WEDDING DRESS...denied it and argued with me. Couldn't even sew in boobl cups evenly.. BUYER BEWARE. She wanted to argue about it, totally unprofessional.. My dress was not easy to alter as it has a very detailed bodice with pearls and other beading, and the bottom of the skirt had a lace detail that could not be detached at all. Payed up front for two suits each seam 18 dollars leather pants to set the liner in the legs and sew the pockets when i picked it up she almost pushed me out the door before checking the stuff she assured me it was all done gave me dirty looks for trying to check them. The suits were just ok fit nothing more. Not even good just ok Weeks later I am ready to go out put on the leather pants hand went through to my leg big bummer before going out not worht going back to them for anything. She can probably sew ruffels on a wedding or prom dress thats not skilled at all

Sue had to let out the hip area, hem up the length and alter the off the shoulder sleeves of the dress and it was done by the next Wednesday. Excellent work. Very satisfied. Comparable pricing. I cannot say enough outstanding things about Sue! She is affordable, fast, honest and not to mention- absolutely amazing at what she does! I took her my wedding dress and needed it done within a week (Insane, I know). She had to completely restructure my hand beaded top (it was two pieces- top and skirt), pull out the zipper, add a new one to make it much smaller and add cups in. The skirt of my dress-- she had to dart in with some challenging seams. I also needed it hemmed at the bottom; which I opted to not do my first visit. I go back in a weeks time to pick it up and it was absolutely perfect. The top was perfect; fit amazing and the skirt fit exactly how I envisioned. The bottom still needed hemmed and it really bothered me I didn't do it the first time. But I had to have my dress done, as I was leaving for Mexico in three days. She offered to do it for me and have it done with a one day turn around (she worked on her day off to complete this for me). So I went back the following day to pick it up-- and it was flawless. If I could give this place 0 stars I would. SUE completely ruined my sisters dress 2 WEEKS before her wedding and REFUSED to give her a FULL refund, attempt to correct the issues or give her a receipt. She not only ruined the dress but kicked my sister and mom out of her store when they simply asked for a receipt of purchase. She showed NO sympathy, took WAY too much material off that is irreplaceable, hemmed a beautiful wedding dress as if it were a sheet and the bustle looked as if a 5th grader pined it up. She is a TERRIBLE business owner and seamstress. I will be contacting FOX 2 News & taking her to small claims court as this is NOT ACCEPTABLE. She took away from what was supposed to be a memorable moment ad turned it into chaos. $2,000 down the drain. Luckily, my sister was able to find another dress in time but that doesn't take away from the fact that Sue's Alterations caused havoc, stress and my sister to have to spend another $1200 to make sure she has a wedding dress on her big day. It's sad, terrible and utterly disgusting how she conducts her business. DO NOT GO TO SUE'S ALTERATIONS!

She tried to rip me off big time. I am sure she knows what she is doing... however I'm a very soft spoken individual and I feel that she tried to take advantage of me because of that. I had a belt on a bridesmaid dress I wanted to take off and some additional alterations, and I didn't know it could come off with some small scissors on my own, and she tried to charge me 20 dollars to take it off! She tried to charge me 100 dollars for hemming, taking a belt off (which really was no work at all), and shortening some straps. The dress didn't even need major work like being taken in. I went to another place, Kim's alterations, and she gave me a fair price, 65 dollars as opposed to an outrageous $100. I would never recommend this place to anyone.

My family and I have been taking our clothes to be altered there for over 15 years. She used to have fair pricing and do great work. However the last dress I took in there she charged more than she had ever in the past but didn't think too much of it. Until today when my sister went to pick up a dress she took to have taken in and hemed. She was charged $130.00. I just had even more work done at a different place for $45.00 and my dress turned out better. After all when I was not sure about how the dress was going to fit my seamstress gave me a couple different options until we made it look right. Sue's on the other hand told my sister "That's just going to have to be how it looks everyone hangs out like that." Maybe but she is a size 4 she doesn't have anything to hang out the dress needed to be brought up more!

I can say with absolute certainty that it's warranted based on my experience. I brought the pants in on Saturday morning around 10:40am expecting to have them completed by Monday at the earliest. She asked when I wanted them by and I said as soon as possible. She literally took a quick break from working on a wedding gown to hem my pants. I was shocked that she completed them while I waited and the whole process took less than ten minutes. Price was more than fair and now I can actually wear the pants on Monday morning. Good work but expensive compared to classic stitch alterations on van dyke between 18 mile and 19 mile. I suggest getting an estimate from classic stitch before you go to Sue's. Sue's prices were $50 for a zipper replacement on leather coat. It was $35 two years ago. She said it went up due to rent prices. I called classic stitch and they did the work for $35.

Very rude. Went in for a consultation with my wedding dress and I’ll never go back. After telling me she couldn’t do most of the things I was trying to accomplish with the dress, she told me to leave it with her and she would do what she can. I told her I would prefer to get another opinion since she didn’t think she could do what I was asking. I took my suit in 10 days ago to have the suit coat altered. Upon pick up, I was asked to pay my invoice of $94 before trying my suit. I asked if I could try my suit on before paying. The lady at the desk was hesitant but agreed. My suspicions were confirmed when I tried on my suit and the shoulder area of my suit was bunched together. It had multiple waves in it and looked beyond repair. It went from a few wrinkles when I brought it in as a brand new suit to looking 10 times worse. The front desk receptionist said, " Sorry, I can take off $20 off a $94 invoice and that is it". I asked if it could be fixed with no response. The same lady had marked up the suit 10 days earlier. I paid my $74 with my suit coat now shelved and have to buy a new suit to replace. I felt taken advantage of and would not recommend Sue's Alterations. The last Words of the receptionist were, "Sorry, you look sad" before taking my money. She walked away and didn't even care to offer any last recommendation to correct a newly bought suit that she had just ruined.

I have been here a handful of times. Sue is an interesting lady. She is blunt and will speak her mind. She is also honest and her prices are reasonable. Cash only though. If you need something tailored in a hurry she is definitely someone you will want to see. Normal turn around time is 2 to 3 days.

I went there a few months ago. I posted the same review on yelp. The experience was so terrible, so I have to tell people here on google review as well. Although she has good skills and offers relatively low price, we found it's really hard to communicate with her, partly due to her poor English and partly due to her strong opinions. We almost had a fight with her. She misunderstood us due to her poor English and got mad. She even asked us to get out of her house. OMG. It was absolutely the WORST ever experience I had. Never met anyone dealing with customer like this. No respect at all. She just refused to listen and reluctant to make changes.

Amazing!! Called to have my daughters prom dress hemmed at the last minute - no problem - bring her in for a fitting Friday late afternoon - done Monday morning - she saved us AND did beautiful work great price and was so wonderfully nice! Go to Sues alterations!!!

Got my bridesmaids dress tailored for my moms wedding, only like 2 inches were takin off and the dress had 3 layers but very thin. I was charged $70 dollars it is pretty pricey especially for what was done. But the lady is very nice and the tailoring is nice, just a little on the expensive side and it’s still longer than what I really wanted. Honestly you can find somewhere less expensive I’m new to Michigan so I just went with it

Went to Kim's and she said it wasn't possible to do what I asked to a dress. It seemed weird to me, so I went here for a second opinion. When I asked if it was possible she said of course it was and didn't really understand why the girl said it wasn't. Kim's told me over the phone it would just take a two days and had me come in two days before I needed it. So I was in a time crunch too. When I went to pick them up when it was very close to closing time, she took the time to ensure I tried all three pieces on. Her work is impeccable. I was so impressed with all three pieces. She is very experienced. I have had shirts completely messed up when taking them to a different alteration place. I cannot tell you how much of a relief it was to be pleasantly surprised by perfection with Sue’s work. Took my wedding gown here for alterations. $400 later my dress was cut too short and along the bottom flowers were cut in half. Bust line was extremely too high, also refused to sew in padding. My straps were basically cut in half and overlapped which is what caused my bust line to be too high. I am far from a “bridezilla” but this absolutely broke my heart. This was my wedding gown. Not just any dress. I Ended up taking to another alterations place where she fixed my bust. Meanwhile Sue refused to refund money, or even pay for the additional alterations. So not only was I out $400 but an additional $150 to have her mistakes fixed. My mother used her several times prior and unfortunately this was my first and last time using her. Shannon Tichenor
