I took my wedding dress into South Bend Seamstress not knowing much about altering wedding dresses, the woman did not offer me any options of how the dress could be altered differently. She seemed very displeased my first time trying on my dress after the first round of alterations when there were still some parts that did not fit quite right and I wanted to be adjusted. During my second visit trying on the dress the bust of the dress was very wavy due to my bust not filling the dresses bust, she said there was nothing she could do about it. I ended up taking my dress to another seamstress in a larger city and the new seamstress noticed some things were not right with my dress, it was buldging in areas it shouldn’t have been buldging. She ended up cutting some seams to find out that South Bend Seamstress had not cut the material on my dress off, but just folded it under and sewn over it creating this budge. South Bend Seamstress has altered the back of my dress making it a completely different fit than the dress was designed originally, this new seamstress was able to undo this and bring the dress back to its original state and then make additional alterations from there. This new seamstress was also able to fix the bust so that it fit my body perfectly. South Bend Seamstress may be fine when making common alterations but I would not recommend taking wedding dresses into South Bend Seamstress.

SBS is simply amazing. Her work is impeccable and her prices are very affordable. I got married two weeks ago and due to a few unfortunate situations a month before my wedding I was left without anyone to alter my wedding dress. I was in sheer panic. When I went in ... I didn't have a clue about prices or what I needed done to my dress and what impressed me the most is she could've taken advantage of that ... and charged me am outrageous prices for a lot of work that did or didn't need to be done... but she didn't . ... at one point she even said if you have a reception dress you won't need train taken in because you won't be wearing it long enough to make it worth paying to get it done. That meant so much to me. She could've charged me for something she knew I wouldn't really need just to make more money but she didn't. Best part is she got it done just in time for my wedding .... and her work was perfection. I will use South Bend Seamstress for everything I need altered. Amazing work and honest prices ... that's rare to find.

Jennifer is a life saver and a true master at alterations! I brought my daughter in to have her winter formal dress altered. We were able to make her appointment with ease. The first appointment was a fitting where she tried the dress on and it was pinned to the alterations we had requested. About a week later we came back in for a 2nd fitting to make sure the new corrections worked. Super happy with the end results!

Terrible customer service. Messaged via Facebook and was told to call the shop to make an appointment. I called the shop on three occasions, with no answer any time, also with an outdated voice message. The voice message said the shop was closed and if I needed immediate assistance to email them. I did so, and was rudely answered with "I received no voicemail from you" suggesting I was supposed to leave a voicemail rather than email when then voice message said to email. Unfortunately I cannot attest to the skill of the seamstress as I was unable to schedule an appointment due to unorganized functions. I hope others have an easier time getting in contact with the business.

Unfortunately, I was not impressed with the service I received from Jennifer. She was NOT friendly. I felt uneasy with my dress alterations, and wish I hadn’t gone through with it. Another factor why I wasn’t impressed was with how OVERPRICED my dress alteration was. At the end I wouldn’t recommend the experience I had to anyone.
