I was visiting Indy this week and suddenly realized I had an "air conditioning" issue with the my pants, I didn't know what to do and just walked in to Papalia through google map, the lady was really nice and asked me if I wanted to leave the pants there. When she realized I didn't have extra pants with me and this was kinda emergency, she was so helpful that she dropped her work and fixed my pants right away, when I was thinking how much I need to pay for this "rush" job, she told me "you're fine, don't worry about it". I never expected to get such help for free and no words can express my appreciation, and here I am, hopefully you can know Papalia Family Tailoring better from my story, simply great people!

Took a pair of ripped jeans here for repair. Staff was very friendly. They patched the jeans for a very reasonable price, I was expecting it to be slightly more expensive, and had it done on time.

The ladies fixed a problem caused by a previous tailor on very short-notice. They are affordable, professional and stand behind their work. Highly recommend!

I would not recommend this business to any one. I called first to tell them about the piece I wanted tailored for my son and was given a fair price of $10-$15 for the item. I drove to the address and paid for parking (they're located downtown). Walked about 4 blocks in 40 degree weather and wind with my 9 month old son. When I got there and showed her what I wanted tailored, she laughed in my face. She said it would cost $40-$60 and said that it would be pointless to have it tailored. She then went back to her desk and ignored me. I walked out with out her even telling me good bye. Terrible customer service and a "bait and switch" on the price. BUYER BEWARE

I had a bridesmaid dress that I needed altered and I waited until the last minute to get it done. I googled tailors in Indianapolis and ran across Papalia. It had good user reviews (and was close to my office), so I decided to take a gamble. I'm so glad I did. Lisa is wonderful!! She worked with my short time frame and did an excellent job and the dress fit me like it was made for me. If you need alterations in Indy, this is where you go, no question.

I brought in a sportcoat that I bought off the rack somewhere else. The tailor said she would not adjust anything and told me she could bring it in a little but it was not worth paying $45 to alter. I appreciated the honesty.

For anyone that has experienced a great tailor from a difference city, you will not be pleased going to Papalia. Their craft is sub-par at best and they give no personal attention to individuals. My experience: I gave extremely detailed instructions as to what I wanted from a suit that I just purchased... I wanted my jacket to have a nipped waist line, and the sleeves tapered and the length shortened to just barely reaching my wrist. I needed the pant legs to be tapered and also shortened, just barely grazing my shoes. The suit was a decent fit to begin with, and these were all very minor adjustments. The result was a more or less the same as what I began with, plus one leg with the inside seam coming undone. These are not tailors working in this shop... these are people with experience making $10 alterations to clueless individuals willing to pay $50. All of these individuals giving an "Excellent" rating have never been to a true tailor.
