A WARNING to anyone considering the Alteration Shop on Jefferson to alter a wedding dress!! This alteration shop did not want to stand behind their work after poorly altering my wedding dress. I'm a very nice person who hates conflict; however, this shop really mistreated me and others should be warned. At my consultation, these ladies mislead me about their abilities to alter a wedding dress, lied about how much they would charge, and lied about giving me a trial fitting (wedding dress alterations MUST have a trail fitting, it's almost impossible for a wedding dress to fit first time round). So 2 weeks later I come in after consultation ( to my knowledge was just a trail fitting) and the bustle was really bad, the bust was still bid, and the whole dress was still sagging on me. I calmly addressed where obvious alterations were needed. The one lady fired back and said "well the dress looks better than it did, and to take safety pins and pin the sides of the bustle myself, and if there where any further alterations she'd charge around $100.00 more!! After I wasn't buying that, she then had the audacity to blame me for it not fitting!! I couldn't believe it!! (We- the customer are to blame, I had no idea what she was doing, and she was the one pinning my dress at the consultation)! These women took advantage of me and my kind personality, so I want to warn anyone who is in need of wedding alterations to not go to this shop. I recommend the Alteration Shop in Auburn, the lady was truthful, reasonable, nice, and does wonderful work! Best Wishes to you!!!
