They did a good job on my dress EXCEPT they didn't take out all of the pieces used to hold the tulle layers of my dress together when they did the bustle, so 20 minutes before I was to walk down the aisle, my train didn't lay flat at all. My bridesmaids furiously snipped the plastic bits holding the layers together. It ended up ok, but that could have been an absolute disaster. I have mixed feelings here. Your first visit is great - you see what a value it is and Sonya knows her stuff. But then you will have your appointments rescheduled or forgotten about. Or you will be charged additionally for a bustle when that was definitely discussed at your first appointment, but it miraculously didn't make it on to the estimate on the ticket. Speaking of the ticket, you better not lose it. The small paper ticket is the only security you have of retrieving your wedding dress. Bottom line, there are lots of others places to get your dress altered. Go to one of them.

I live my life from a wheelchair and finding pants that don't cut me in half while sitting, don't crowd me between the legs and comfortable to sit in for 16-18 hours a day don't exist. So I came up with an idea that solved all my problems. Unfortunately my previous Tailor retired so I needed a new one. I found Alex's Tailor Shop, made an appointment and showed Sonia what I needed. A week later, I'm back to buttoning my pants and being comfortable. I look forward to getting many others done soon.

I was looking for an alteration shop to handle an emergency wedding vest adjustment. While others turned me down, Sonia & Luz at Alex’s welcomed me with open arms. Not only do they have fantastic customer service, they made me feel right at home and I enjoyed chatting with them. When I pick up my vest, I’ll be bringing them a few more items I’ve been holding on to. Their excellent service was refreshing!

Amazing job and service!!! I came in with 2 new suits and 3 pants to take on a business trip in a week. Sonia said they were really backed up but they would get them. Unfortunately they were not ready but she felt so bad that they stayed late to finish them after close and she drove them to me on Saturday night!! Nobody else would do that. I'm a customer for life.

They do a good job on the alterations but you have to wait for a while, even if you have an appointment. They're very opinionated on what they think the dress should look like and they made the fittings way too close to the wedding. I didn't get my dress until 2 days before my wedding when I called to make an appointment 3 months before the wedding. They did a good job on the dress but I personally wouldn't go back. Too stressful.

I will start by saying I LOVE SONIA!! This was my second time working with her. The first was for a lace bridesmaid dress that she did a fabulous job on and the second was for my wedding dress!! She nailed the alterations (strap adjustment, hem, and bustle) on the first fitting. We did a second fitting to add a sequined belt b/c after the straps and hem we couldn't be sure it would fall exactly where I wanted it. I couldn't have put my dress in better hands! Sonia is so sweet, efficient and her prices are great! Alex's Tailor Shop is truly a gem, if you need a tailor, look no further!

They totally screwed up my vest and sewed the pockets down after we talked in depth about leaving them open. I was charged premium prices for having to do this. They sewed them down anyway then insisted on me paying to have their mistake corrected. Very shoddy work and when I questioned the ethics, my place of employment was insulted by the Latino lady running the place.

Excellent job at altering my dress for my wedding! She finished very quickly - much ahead of schedule - and eased my tensions about the whole process. Very affordable - I paid $200 to have 9 layers of my ballgown dress taken up and a french bustle put in. Bottom line: Go with Alex's Tailor Shop! They are fantastic and quick!

They do great work, but they are slow and have mediocre customer service. Just recently we dropped off a dress for my fiance and gave them 6 weeks to finish some basic hemming. We went back in 10 weeks later and requested the dress. For some reason the shop keeper never called us when the dress was done. She even had our correct number on the card, but never called upon completion.

I had to buy a suit the day before my wedding because another business botched my tux rental, and these folks were able to hem the pants and shorten the sleeves on the coat overnight, for a perfectly reasonable additional price. They were friendly, they gave good advice, and they saved my wedding - I'll definitely be doing more business here!

Great Customer Service I brought my prom dress to be altered they had it finished less than a week later. Absolute 10/10 would recommend. Plan on coming here again next year and if needed ever again.

I had a wonderful experience working with Sonia and will definitely come back for any future alterations. I went in to get a bridesmaid dress altered and it was a perfect fit when I went to pick it up. Sonia is so charming and friendly, and she does great work as well. Additionally, the price was the best I've found. Two years ago I had a dress taken in and hemmed at a place in Carmel and it was $130, whereas I paid $70 for the same service here and was just as pleased with the results.

I was going to give a fair shake after reading some very poor reviews, because I need my ripped pants for work. I'm a Tradesman and as it turns out my pants had been washed but we're stained. As I laid them on the counter, she proceeded to tell me that she would not accept them because they were not clean clothes. After explaining that they were freshly washed, she would still not accept them. I will never, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever darken that door again. I am not from this area, but I have never met such stupidity in a business as this one. My money is green and I just need the service rendered. If you're looking for a decent tailor don't go here.

They worked with me on some pants for my job. The main lady is especially sweet, and the seamstress in the back is truly talented. They're honest about wait times, what can and should be done, how long it'll take, etc. To top off, they're very reasonable and will cut you the best deal possible. When the same pants had a bad zipper, she remembered me, my order, and the details involving it from two months prior. So long as I live in Indy this is where I'll go!
