Came here at the recommendation of a friend and was very pleased with the service. As soon as I walked in (early morning on a Tuesday,) he dropped what he was doing to help me with my request. I paid half of the cost in cash up front, and came back on Saturday to pick up the items which were exactly as I wanted, and paid the remaining cost in cash. I'll be back!

I recently came here to tailor two Kurtas for a friend’s Indian wedding. The kurtas were originally too big. Luis did a good job with taking in the torso part. But when I came to pick those up, I had noticed the bottom parts were flaring out like a fish tail. I asked him to take it in further in the bottom. I went to try them on again today. All I said was “I think it’s still flaring out at the bottom” He immediately insinuated that I said that to make him do free work. Now it is only 3 days before the wedding so there is too little time to make any adjustment. It was his attitude that gave me a bad impression. I would recommend going elsewhere that provide better customer service.

The owner and master tailor here is fantastic. I bought a used item of clothing that started falling apart after I wore it. I asked him if it was worth repairing or if it would continue to disintegrate. He gave me great advice and told me that repairing it wouldn't be worth it. He's also altered other items of mine and has done fantastic work. I highly recommend him!

I had a bridesmaid dress taken in 1.5-2" on each side and the length shortened by like 2 inches. A-1 did a great job. My dress has several layers, so he told me up front it would cost more money because of that. It was $75. He said he could do it in one week, but I said it's no rush so he did it in 2 weeks. He was very polite and kind, asked all the appropriate questions about the dress and fit, and made sure I was happy with the end result. I'd definitely come here again. They do not take credit cards though.

This man is a genius! I've brought him lots of clothing and he's done an excellent job. Most recently I brought him a canvas carrying case that I've used for some of my work equipment for the past 10+ years...it's a very specialized case that was falling apart, and it would be impossible to find something exactly the same to replace it. He repaired it so it looks like new. No need to throw out stuff because it's in a bit of disrepair! Just bring it here.

I picked up a Zadig & Voltaire brown leather biker jacket at a downtown thrift store for a song. It was an older style so it fit rather wide. A-1 Tailor basically recut the entire jacket to shrink it down and now it fits as if it was made for me, and charged me $55 and had it ready in four days! I cannot recommend them enough.
