Sew Boise is in a convenient location with professional service in alerations. I brought a designer silk lined dress that needed to be taken in on both sides. The fit and stitching came out fabulous, the silk lining is seamless. Also for a small fee they were able to fit it in to the schedule as a rush job. Totally reasonable pricing. All the staff was friendly and well dressed so they know fashion!

I called to try and come in to see them in person and just go over some concerns I have of a dress that I wanted altered and the lady wouldn’t let me come in and talk about what I wanted out of an alteration without paying a deposit. I didn’t ask to bring my dress in or anything, I was just going to further explain in person that I’m pregnant and how I wanted it to fit very tightly. I had no problem paying the deposit, but I couldn’t even come in to talk with them and see if they were able to accommodate my pregnancy before I committed to getting my alteration done? I’m not impressed with the lack of help, my wedding is coming up fast and I just wanted some guidance with being pregnant and getting my dress to fit properly, but they couldn’t even give me the time of day to talk to me about it before paying them.

I had a special request for the girls to do..i had a new car and wanted some alterations on my dash mat for my car..asked to have a different fabric sewed on the top of the orginal..i also was very specific about having the fabric crossed stitched .unfortnatally it was not done also some of the dash mat was not covered..of course being the person i am i did not say anything and this work was not cheap..so basically i paid full price for work that was not complete..mabye they just dont think it was important enough i dont know.but im not very happy about it.i guess i should have said somthing?.i felt rushed out the door.

Bad costumer service. Was quoted an amount after taking my dress that was already pretty spendy followed by a text message later that day saying they miss quoted me and raised the price more than $20

I am extremely disappointed in the service that I received at Sew Boise. I took a bridesmaid’s dress in and needed to have the hemline shortened by about 3 inches. When I returned a week later to try it on, I immediately noticed how terrible the stitching was on the dress. The stitching on the outside of the dress was uneven, coming out, and skipping stitches in several places. The stitching on the slip cover inside was white and didn’t match the color of the dress, and again was uneven, coming out, and skipping stitches in several places. I spoke to the employee who altered the dress and she was not even remotely apologetic about the situation and instead simply stated “Oh well, that’s just how the fabric of the dress is.” Although the owner was present, they would not even come speak to me about the situation and instead told the employee that they could try to re-sew it. The owner didn’t offer me any sort of discount and wouldn’t come out and apologize to me in person about the situation. I will never come back to Sew Boise, or recommend this store to anyone. I basically paid $75 to have a dress mangled. If you don’t want an expensive formal dress to be ruined, DON’T COME HERE.

This place did great job for my needs. Had 2 small rips on some mountain bike shorts. This cost me $5 each and they had them done in 5 days. Communication was prompt and effective. I will definitely continue to use them for future needs/repairs.

When I first went to this location, I was just looking to have a dress shirt altered to actually fit. I like to think of myself of a bodybuilder type of sorts, so finding "Americanized" clothing that will fit a 42" chest and a 28" waist is hard to come by. Most clothes I find these days fit nasty big guts and frail chests! I met with the owner there, Erin, and she understood my problem and offered to reshape my shirt to fit. The prices were more than reasonable and needless to say, the price went by the wayside when I went to pick up a shirt that was perfectly fit to my body proportions. A few months later I brought in a suit to be tailored, along with two more shirts. She offered to also shorten the jacket to match modern proportions of length and adjust the liner of the jacket to match. The suit was a rather expensive Ralph Lauren and she did it justice! When I got it back, it fit perfectly and you could never tell it was altered at all. What made me write this review is the fact that to this day, every time I wear the suit somewhere important or fashionable, I get comments like "that's the best looking suit I've ever seen". Even in places where I'm surrounded by other suits! That's the kind of impressive and quality work that comes from this place. When I went to a government job, she even knew how to alter a suit to conceal a firearm underneath. That's a unique type of skill that even specialized uniform shops have difficulty understanding. I'd bring anything you'd ever need altered or even custom sewn to this location again without hesitation. Let the experts perform what they're experts at. And this place is nothing short of expert in sewing and alterations.

Sadly, our experience at sewBoise was disappointing. We started alterations for my daughters wedding dress the beginning of April. The first time we went we met with Barbie. She was very knowledgeable and extremely helpful. We went again for a second fitting and the tension between the Barbie and the owner was noticeable (we never saw Barbie again). We were rescheduled for the third fitting because nothing had been done on the dress from the second fitting. The third fitting we arrived and had to wait as the under skirt wasn't sewed back in. We went for the fourth and final fitting and nothing had been done. I had to pick the dress up for my daughter as she lives 130 miles away and had taken time off work for other fittings. When I went to the scheduled time to pick up the dress the owner greeted me like she had never seen me before. Unfortunately, the bustle wasn't finished so I had to wait an hour. My daughter had first look pictures the following day. The bustle was a disaster and the boning on the rear and bust padding hadn't been fixed. Luckily, we took into Margene's where we purchased the dress and they fixed everything at no charge. I would not recommend sewBoise for wedding dress alterations, they may do fine for other apparel. We paid $305.
