I agree about the not talkative portion but when I spoke with him, he graciously spoke back. One of the buttons on my jacket needed to be threaded and his stitching looked better than the manufacturer's. His prices are great and his timing is fabulous. I highly recommend this place!

Love and appreciate Larry's work. He is no-nonsense and doesn't say much but I don't hire him for good conversations, I hire him to hem my pants and take in my shirts. He does those things well for a fair price. He's done lots of alterations for me over the past few years and they're perfect every time.

He has terrible communication skills and half the time I had no idea what he was saying. BUT, he is a great tailor and it only took about a week. Plus, it's relatively inexpensive and he did a great job.

Larry has been my tailor for more than 10 years. ALWAYS perfect work at a fair price. Hems and complicated suit sleeve cuffs all look professionally cut, pressed, neat lines. Saved me money over the years with garments that had zipper issues. See this non-talkative dude first!

Don't even bother with this guy.I dropped off a new suit to get altered.He said it would be ready in a week.A week passed,I went back and suit still sitting on his rack,untouched.Ended up going to a much more professional tailor who had it ready in 3 day albeit more expensive because I needed within that week.Just do not bother with this guy.If your time is valuable,don't use this clown.And yes,like many said,he doesnt speak much.

I give this man and his shop zero stars!!! Larry was absolutely hands down the rudest business owner I have ever come across. My daughter called regarding her wedding dress alterations and Larry said to bring it in. By the time we left his shop my daughter was almost in tears because Larry acted like her dress could not be altered in the manner she needed. At one point he said that we were being difficult while explaining what we needed done to the dress. More than once his answer to our questions was "I don't know" or "What do you think?" in a very rude and condescending tone. Very terrible experience, I can't believe there are any decent reviews about this man or his shop.

As a consumer I would like the company to be able to explain the options or process. I have some pants I would like altered so I brought them in to see what would look best. He gave me no options and kept asking "what do you want". If I knew what I was doing I work so it myself. This is why I searched for a company to get the alterations done. It seemed as if my business didn't matter. I will definitely not return.

Larry is a man of few words. My only transaction to date yielded 3 of them. But he instantly got to work on a problem that had to be done that day. Every other place I checked with told me at least a week. He finished in less than 15 minutes, for a fraction of the cost I was expecting. This man is a BAMF, and deserves your business. I know he has mine.

I have to agree with the other reviewer, he is not very talkative but he does an excellent job for the price you pay. I've been there twice and honestly I thought his price was a little high the first time. After getting a quote for the same thing he did at more than double his price, I went straight back to Larry's. It's a small place on the side of a house right off Cole between Fairview and Emerald.

I had to chuckle at my fellow ex-Texan Carl's review of Larry's Tailor Shop. Larry's shop isn't a company; this is a one-man operation so perhaps a detailed explanation might be a bit much to expect. (But, welcome ya'll, to Carl, anyway!) Larry does a great job, charges very reasonable prices and in the 12 years since moving here that I have used him, I've never been disappointed. I even know how to sew, but am just too busy with work to get things done on time.

Larry is quite reserved but incredibly kind. There is absolutely no way anyone can beat his prices and his handiwork is fantastic. His shop is always full of projects but he will finish your tailoring in whatever time frame you need. I will be recommending this as the best tailor shop in Boise, hands down.

I recently called this horrible place to have some ski pants hemmed. The guy was extremely rude on the phone and immediately had an attitude. When I showed up at shop/his home he was an ass right off the bat. He didn't even say hello or greet me, he continued working while I uncomfortably stood there waiting for assistance. I finally had to introduce myself and tell him what I needed. He repeatedly ignored me while I asked him questions then walked away and continued working. I asked him how much it would be and if he could do it the same day and he said "what do you think!?" I was in shock and he went back to work ignoring me once again. He then told me it would cost double what he quoted me on the phone when nothing had changed in what I told him I needed. When I asked him why he said "because that's what it cost, if you don't like it go somewhere else!" I then told him what I thought and left. I have never been treated so rudely in my entire life! It was shocking and appalling. I would never give this hideous man a dime of my money and you should not either.

If you want your clothes tailored, this is a good place. Fast, inexpensive, no nonsense, good tailor. If you are looking for a great conversation or having wedding dress anxiety - probably go somewhere else and spend more money.

So far Larry has not completed the job of installing a new zipper in my leather jacket, he told me to come back in one week which I did but still not done. Now I am to come back next week. Not holding my breath, we shall see! Well the jacket was completed on my second trip back. The work looks good and the price was very reasonable, I am uping my rating of Larry.

Larry is a man of very few words, but he knows his stuff. He fixed my jacket in front of my eyes in less than 5 minutes. I didn't even ask him to. Charged me $4. I left another jacket with him and have abundant confidence it will be perfect when I pick it up next week and most likely way cheaper than the other outfits in town.

I’ve been going back to him with coats, jeans, shorts, almost everything needs to be tailored, and he handled them all. Do remember prepare cash though. He doesn’t take cards. And before you go pick up your stuff, call him to double check if it’s ready. I’ve had experience that it’s not ready on the date we agreed with. So if you need something done in urgent, double check with him when in the store. He doesn’t talk too much. And he is not a social person at all.
