Im so glad I found this place. Now I have a go to place for all my alteration needs. I needed some sofa arm rest protectors made from the extra fabric we got from the factory. I have her the measurements and explained what I needed. She was able to give me a good price for it and it came out great! Next time I'm bringing all my pants that need gemming. Very nice lady who does really good work, for fair prices. Highly recommend.

I came here to have a few fairly simple tailoring hems done on arms and legs for my own suit for an upcoming wedding. Unfortunately, I came during what appeared to be high school prom season which may have served as a sort of catalyst for my experience. I wasn't ever really treated like I was even welcome and the entire process reeked of sarcasm and impatience, beginning to end. I was told it would take no longer than a week and I would be contacted when the alterations were completed. A week came and went - I called back at a week and a half to check in. The alterations were not finished, but would be ready tomorrow (probable translation: we forgot and will rush to finish it). Fine - I gave no fuss, there was no rush. When I came back the next day, I was treated with the same incordiality as before. All said and done, the quality of the work was just ok and the price was acceptable - it's not particularly beautiful work, but it functionally holds up to use. This specific experience was literally the reason I taught myself how to sew and make similar alterations myself.

I drove down to get a quote 11/21/17 on sewing an open space closed on my cat stroller and Sandra was very firm that she does not like pets which was not nice, said I need to clean stroller (it was not dirty as it is a brand new stroller), and charged me $25.. Pricey! I went over to sweet emotions by library to get a quote and Linda was super sweet, offered ideas, and only charged $10. So this place kinda made me feel unwelcome.. I don't know how her work is as I felt too unwelcome and was treated as if I'm gross because I have cats and I am not gross. I'm a clean, well done woman.

HORRIBLE HORRIBLE HORRIBLE!!! Do NOT go to these rip-off's!!! The "lady", and I assure you i am using that term VERY loosely, was the single most rude and offensive person i have EVER encountered. She didn't even let me finish my question before cutting me off. If she had actually let me finish- she would have known that what i needed was really quite simple. And I know this because i had already taken it to another tailor who gave me a quote but i, STUPIDLY, wanted to keep my business local. What a mistake. And they have the gaul to say that is a consignment shop? The three dresses there would look fabulous- on my great grandmother... if she were not going to leave the house. So seriously, RUN away from these horrid people. In my life i have never encountered anyone so rude and clearly untalented.

I agree with the last review.....she is RUDE! When asked if alterations could be done in 3-4 days she looked at me like I was nuts. I then told her if not no big deal I could find soemone else she said "up to you, do whatever you want" in a not so friendly tone. I have been here once before, and based upon her attitude (and I was very pleasant) I will never go back. Mays Tailor in Peacedale was very pleasant, efficient, and her pricing is much lower than this ladies location - someone needs to tell her to retire or find someone else to work for that can teahc her some manners. ps She will also push you to buy some jewelry from her - even after i decided to go elsewhere. Are you freaking kidding me?

Such a great place! When you drive up, it's not much to look at from the outside - it's in a tiny little park with a neon sign in the front window. When you walk in, you're greeted by the seamstress and her little dog, who is a cute little friendly fluff ball. No, the place isn't big (in fact, it's very, very small), and no, it's not "fancy," but I believe that work should speak for itself. I came by with a dress that I needed turned into an A-line skirt, so this was quite a job - the top had to be cut away, the zipper removed and replaced, and the remaining fabric tailored to the curve of my hips and waist for a proper fit. She eyed me up with the dress on and then pinned it after she removed it. When I tried it back on with the pins, the measurements were perfect - I was literally astounded that she could do that OFF the body. She told me she'd been doing this now for more than two decades. When I picked the new skirt up two weeks later, it fit *flawlessly.* It's a custom piece, and it's beautiful. When you go to a tailor, you're investing more money into your clothing - a bad tailor will flush that money down the drain with poor skills. If you're looking for the best, you've found her. SUPER friendly and professional, and incredibly skilled - I highly recommend going here!

We ordered a dress online for homecoming and it was too large in several places. We needed someone last minute. She was very friendly and was able to complete the alterations and ended up re-beading the dress. It fit perfect!!! Definitely would recommend and we will reuse her whenever we need something.

Personally I thought she was great. Ive gone to her for both my junior and senior proms and now going back for my wedding. I will admit she was a bit out there when it came to holding a conversation but in a funny way. Anyone here who has had a problem with her are probably just as stuck up and rude as they are trying to make her sound.

Don't let the size of the shop fool you! Though it's set in a small building, they are in no way less skilled. I needed my wedding dress shortened and a panel added to the back corset section, and you can't even tell the difference from the original. The work was completed and ready for pick up on the agreed upon date, about one month, in prom season! Communication is just a little difficult, due to language barriers, but easy enough if you're patient. Any future alterations I need will be taken here!

After learning that photos were this weekend I called to learn that they were not open on Saturday which meant I had to go back to pick them up before they closed. After shopping around at some of the larger tuxedo rental shops, I found Alterations Unlimited when I needed an emergency alteration for a suit. Denise is extremely friendly and made sure she asked all the right questions to help me find the right tux for myself and the groomsmen. Some of my groomsmen were out of town, but Denise really helped us get the measurements for the guys -- and made sure their tuxedos would be perfect when they came in. Denise has a wide variety of tuxedos available, and with her help, we picked one of the best looking tux I have ever seen- and they all fit PERFECTLY! Denise really went out of her way to ensure everything was ordered, arrived, and fit perfectly. We were so happy with Alterations Unlimited that my wife preserved her wedding dress with Denise as well. We continue to go to Denise for all of our alteration needs, and HIGHLY recommend this shop to any groom that wants himself and the groomsmen to look perfect on their wedding day.

Had my jacket for over a month and didn't touch it. I go to pick it up on the day she said it would be ready and she hasn't done a thing to it... In over a month! Then she tells me she can get it done in five hours. You shouldn't need 38 days to do a job that takes less than five hours. She also told me she was closed for a week, but I drive by her shop on my way home every day and it was open every day. If you need your work done in a timely manor go somewhere else.

Wendy took an impossible job and made my daughter's prom dress fit beautifully. We were really nervous and knew that it would be a tremendous job considering how much needed to be fitted properly. We gave Wendy some time to work with an A-line vintage covered in lace, and are very happy with the results. My daughter is so excited to have the dress of her dreams to celebrate with her friends.

Took my wedding dress here and paid 685$ to have it completely ruined. She cut it right down the sweetheart neckline and added a 6 inch seam. Don’t go here, had to get a new dress and pay rush order and couldn’t get the same one because of time.

We rented the tuxedos for my daughter's wedding here. We had one difficult to fit groomsman. They went out of their way to insure that the tux for this young man arrived promptly and fit correctly. Everything was done in a friendly and professional manner and the wedding party looked fantastic. I've also had some of my own clothing altered here with superb results. If you want your jeans shortened to still have that "jean" hem; take them here. All of my alterations required only the initial fitting and fit perfectly upon pickup. This is the third tailor I've tried in RI and i won't be going anywhere else now that I've found them. I would highly recommend.

These women are FABULOUS. Seriously. I don't brag on everything and everyone. Only those who deserve it. And these women do. They do their best to make it right the first time. And if it's not, they fix it. They don't whine about it or try to make you feel bad, they just fix it. And they have tackled anything that I have taken in (that includes jackets, formal dresses, and casual dresses with unusual detailing). And the best part is that their pricing is fair. Truly fair. They are the best kept secret in Carrollton. In fact, I probably shouldn't be telling this in public because I may risk that they won't be able to do as quick and wonderful a job as they do now. But then they probably will figure out how to do it no matter what. They have limited hours for dropping off items (but more liberal hours for pick ups). Nice, nice folks and great service. Truly.

She straight up lied and did not do any of the work she claimed to do on an alteration, then she expertly leveraged her supposed language barrier to blame this all on the conversation she originally had with me. She is an expert at deception and misdirection and conning people into feeling obliged to part with exorbitant amounts of money. I recommend getting two or more 2nd opinions before considering her service, and do not leave a garment there unless you are committed to trusting her. There will be no going back if you do.

Worst experience ever! The “lady” was very rude and provided the worst “customer service” ever! I was there for a Tuxedo rental and she had no clue what she was talking about. When she gave me the first jacket to try on, I said I didn’t like it and would like something different. Her answer was: “You can’t fit in a suit then!! I had previously taken my dress to another alterations place near Wendy's by accident; they had made a mess of it, when I figured out I was not at Wendy's shop I took my dress out of the other shop and across the street to Wendy. She graciously agreed to redo the dress for me within a week of my wedding and it was perfect. I am beyond pleased and SO thankful for all the time and care Wendy took with making my La Sposa Spanish Lace wedding gown, it is meticulously PERFECT! This wedding gown is incredibly intricate and the alterations required needed absolute precision and care. There are several different layers of Lace with Beading and scalloped detail, Wendy had to re-hand and stitch the lace of each layer, shorten the length and re-affix the lace. The gown also has a long train and needed to be taken in on the sides for a perfect fit. Wendy not only accomplished the heavy task at hand, she went above and beyond in a short time frame. I can feel the care she took with this beautiful gown. I am SO thankful we chose Alternations Unlimited and Wendy for my most special Wedding Dress and will be gladly referring everyone in need of alterations to her shop. Thanks again Wendy!

Today I called Alterations Unlimited and spoke to the lady asking what the hours were today and she informed me the store was closing early today. I then said fine realizing I would not make it there in person. (No problem.) So, I told her that my daughter was going to a convention in NYC for anime characters and she wanted a costume made. It was a simple suit (jacket and pant set). I only have a photo and could it be made by this? (I have taken in photos of outfits before to tailors and have had no problems having them made). I had also just come from a tailor shop in North Kingstown where a lady said she would have no problem doing it... I am shopping around for price quotes. The lady of Alterations Unlimited said to me "your daugter is out of this world if she thinks that can be done! I charge $50 an hour. No I will not do it." I stopped her and asked her "what did you just say to me? Did you just say that my daughter was out of this world because she wants a costume made?" And the lady went on to explain that she had crazy requests made to her this week. I let her know that she was in the customer service business and wouldn't be for much longer with that kind of attitude. If she is tired of working with people she needs to get out of working with the public and just do requests with people who can put up with her. All she had to say was no, sorry. Sad.

Unfortunately, she got the wrong date to have my bridesmaid dress ready. However, she was so kind as to to do it quickly and have her (?) husband drive to my house. The dress was actually still too big, and required further alterations (which luckily a friend of mine was able to perform). Another point I would add was that it was a little uncomfortable having my dress unzipped and having my back exposed in the front room with the street window as she was making adjustments (and husband walked through the door at the time).
