Hats off to an on the spot pants hemming. I live by the motto "lack of planning on your part does not constitute an emergency on mine". I ran out of time to help a friend hem his pants for an important interview and stopped by Griffith Alterations and Tailoring. They had the pants ready to go in 20 minutes! I would not ask for or expect that treatment with every garment, but was so appreciative they could help me out in this pinch. THANK YOU!!

I had a minor clothing emergency and I took my beautiful tulle skirt there to get it to have more of a A line fit to it and the guy that owns the place literally stopped what he was doing to help me fit into my skirt for an upcoming photo shoot I have! Now it fits perfectly and is very flattering on my waist line! Thank you so much! If I could give this place 10 stars I would! What a life saver!!!!!

Never again will I come here! Last year for prom I came in maybe like 2 weeks before to see if he was able to alter it because it was too long and I am short and so I come in and I put it on so that he could see what he had to do and he was just rude and I was being nice and said”my cousin comes here and she said you were really good” and he says” yes I know everyone says that” like okay! So then he said it would be ready in a week and so i come the day he said it would be ready and I didn’t check before I left and as I got in the car I seen that he didn’t do anything to it! So my sister goes back and I told her to just ask for my money back because I wasn’t able to go back and he tells her” I can fix it right now” and she told him to wait and calls me to see if I still want it done. And I told her no I’m going somewhere else. So then while she was on the phone he decides to trim the mesh that was overlaying my dress and she tells him that she didn’t tell him to do it so why did he do it and he charged me for something I didn’t want. And basically gives me back 5$ back when I payed him 35 . So never again ! But thankfully my cousins mother in law from Mexico altered my dress exactly how I wanted it And also I posted a picture so that you know what I meant by the mesh he cut !

Griffiths came recommended by Men's warehouse. I had alterations done to a suit coat. When i picked up the coat, the stripes that were added were spaced unevenly and sewn on crooked. Another trip back and he offered to fix, so i left the coat another day. The result was slightly better but still noticeably crooked seams. I think straight alterations might be slightly beyond his skill level. If you don't care about detail work, this shop may be acceptable to you.

This guy is awesome! I called just minutes before arriving to see if he could tailor a shirt for me by the next day. I arrived, showed him (while wearing it) where the uniform shirt was too big. He had me take it off and just started sewing. Finished the shirt in less than 10 minutes and it was a perfect fit!! I've never had such a quick and efficient experience as I did today. Ive had people before that even measured and pinned my shirts, took days to get them back and they didnt fit. But this guy got it in less than 10 minutes and didnt even have to measure! Awesome!

Griffith is an amazing tailor. He stayed late to do an "emergency" hem and convert a mans standard leg to a slim leg. Took him all of 15 minutes. He is amazing with my daughters prom and formal dresses too.

I am an advocate & networker that supports black-owned businesses. I thought I'd found 'the' place to handle my alterations.... NOT! I took my fabric and trim in for new curtains, drew the design and went over it with the owner. No one called me as requested to provide a price quote. Got the call for pickup though. The cost was $50, but the design was not what I'd sketched. He had a cutout of what it should be & mentioned that wasn't correct design. Asked me if I'd get fabric to redo. NOT! Why would I pay for your mistake? They redid it. Returned for pickup. Got home & noticed the trim had been spliced & looked lumpy. They did not buy new trim tried to reused trim from incorrect design. I dropped off & they redid it. I foolishly also dropped off a bedskirt that needed two slit & stitch where bedskirt falls over corners of bed.No call regarding pricing as requested. Again, received a message for pickup though. When I went to pickup curtains & bedskirt, they charged me $25 for the minor alteration on the bedskirt. They basically built in the price of the repurchase of the trim and and materials they had to repurchase. Got quotes from two reputable alteration shops. The bedskirt should have cost between $8-$10. I'd previously had them modify six curtain panels, cutting them down & making shorter curtains. $8 a panel. Why would one bedskirt with minor changes cost so much? Because they MADE ME PAY FOR THEIR MISTAKE. VERY UNPROFESSIONAL! RIP OFFS!

This is the best place to get all your tailoring needs done, bar none. No Job to small or, obviously for me, my second time there, No Job to big, for me definitely! This highly skilled Tailor is excellent in every way possible. Excellent customer service, excellent work, family owned feel, because it is, Owned by The man, the myth, the legend, to me, Ralston Rally Griffith. He goes by "Rally" This shop he owns is just a comfortable place and a great experience all the way around. I had an entire suit altered and the under shirt as well, wow! I had lost about 75 pounds and about 8" off of my waste and I really didn't think it could be altered with all that extra fabric. I thought for sure I'd have to go drop a huge amount of money on a new suit. I'm extremely happy and now have a full nice custom tailored suit. This guy performed miracles, to me and he got it Dry Cleaned for me as well. All in the time I needed it for a business meeting. He also sells clothing there too, and he told me, being I lost weight to being in all my cloths to have them altered I did the math on my wardrobe and it will definitely save me a lot of money getting Mr Griffith to alter my wardrobe as opposed to replacing everything new. All I can say now is, try this place out, if you haven't yet, you will not be disappointed, in my humble opinion, of course..

Terrible. He was rude, didn't have either of my dresses ready in time, and he was even closed whenever I dropped by around 2pm and didn't leave a sign to say when anyone would be back. On top of that, neither dresses i had altered were done well. They were rushed. Definitely would never recommend this place to anyone

I dropped off my daughters dress almost 3 weeks ago! He told me he would only need one week to finish it, I have been in twice to pick up and each time being told "give me two more days"... well those days have passed and now being told next week! Grrrr, VERY frustrating! To make things worse, the guy NEVER knows what day it is! I am just going to go pick it up and take it somewhere else, what a waste of time! Luckily her event isn't until June 10th.

This place was quick about getting my dress ready. I only wanted it shortened because it was real long. Qhen I picked it up and tried it on some of the stitching came undone. The man fixed it right away and apologized. It looks great. It's just how I wanted it and the people were nice. He even makes his own dresses he has for sale in the other room.

This place is exceptional. Where else could you go and get your alterations done same day, same time? Where else can you get a hem done for less than $10? Where else can you take your PROM DRESS the day before prom or the morning of prom and get it back same time? Where else can you go to get alterations done after 5pm? Which other alterations place remains open until 8pm? Which other alterations place can you walk into to mend a rip on your work clothes on your way to work and the tailor does it at no cost? Where else can you go and get your WEDDING DRESS cut down to your size so that you can look stunning on your special day for less than $100? I could go on and on. Griffiths Alterations does excellent work. I can attest to that.

I dropped off my bridesmaid’s dress to just get a hem on Monday. The man (owner) told me that it would be ready for Friday. I arrived around 11, and he advised he would start on it next and it would be ready in 1 hour. Though this seemed odd that he hadn’t even started on my dress, I decided I could run a few errands and swing by in an hour. An hour later, and I go to pick up the dress. He informs me that I was early, and that he needed another 20 minutes. At this time, he still hadn’t started on my dress. I decided to take my dress elsewhere, clearly my business isn’t important to him. I’m only hoping that another place can continue with this hem since he butchered the bottom of my dress. I’d be weary of going here since he can’t be held to any time frame, and I wouldn’t want to spend my day going back and forth on the day that your clothing is supposed to be ready. DONT DO IT

So I read reviews for this place and I said to myself no don't always go by reviews because people complain about everything well listen to reviews for this place and don't waste your time!! Took one bridesmaid dresses in on March 26th the guy said it would be ready by today April 16th I told him perfect because we are getting married Saturday the 21st and I don't have time to run around this week. Pick up day was three weeks after I took it in. Well just went to pick it up and guess what the dress hasn't even been started and he tells me "oh I can get it done today" umm excuse me NO it was already suppose to be done!! Give me the dress and I'm getting it done somewhere else. Not to mention he didn't even know where the dress was when we walked in!! Don't waste your time and take it somewhere else!! Worst part he didn't even apologize!! Terrible business don't go there!!
