Lucy, at Westgate Tailors is an excellent seamstress! I brought in a velvet, formal dress to be altered by removing the sleeves, shortening the area between the neck and waist, and then shortening and reattaching the sleeves. This particularly required delicate work around the shoulder/sleeve area, as well as precision sewing around the collar area. At the initial fitting, we were concerned about the final product being too tight around the bust. However, after altering the dress, it fit perfectly, and even had some ease for movement. How she accomplished that was remarkable! If you're looking for a good tailor or seamstress, Lucy does superior work; and her fees are reasonable. I give Westgate Tailors, 5 Stars!

I had a vintage dress that had finally fallen apart at the seam between the shoulders. It was my FAVORITE postpartum dress, stretchy and lightweight in all the right places - unfortunately, the fabric had run thin along the seams and had finally torn. I was so heartbroken - there was no extra fabric to work with, I really thought it was a lost cause. I brought it in to Westgate Tailors and she quickly evaluated the wreckage, said, "oh, no problem!" and charged me a really reasonable amount to get it taken care of. I was so pleased to see my old dress, good as new just one week later (I told her I was in no rush). Today, I get to wear my favorite dress again! Wahoo - thank you!!

I have had multiple projects that Westgate Tailors have completed without a problem. I have had them sew patches on hats, hem clothing, sew patches on jackets, and repair areas of my backpack. I feel that the pricing is very reasonable and they are always friendly. There is often a cute, little dachshund in there to greet you! Five thumbs up!!
