I have never written a review before, but this place called me bodily injury, so I figured they were asking for it.
I have been to this place three times. All three times they have done a poor job or ruined a garment, but I kept going back because there are so few other alterations places in Boulder that I trust. The first time, my dress came back with stains on it, which I noticed in the store and they would not take responsibility for.
The second time, I brought a dress in to be hemmed - simple enough. The dress has a flap on the front (the opening runs vertically from my waist down to the hem) which is decorative and attached at the hem. When I took the dress home to try it on, I noticed the flap wasn't hanging right - it should hang flat but it had a ripple on it. I realized the tailor had started sewing the flap ONTO THE FRONT OF THE DRESS and then just stopped. Never went back to undo it. So I was 20 minutes late for my dinner because I had to go upstairs and meticulously take out all of the thread she had used to sew it on.
This last time, I had a pencil skirt taken in. There is a slit at the back where the hem is that goes up about two and a half inches, as there is on most skirts. At work today I knelt down to talk to my boss, who was seated at his desk, and knelt in a way you would in a skirt, with your legs together, sitting on your heels. All of a sudden I felt a sharp stinging in my upper thing and stood up. I PULLED A PIN OUT OF MY THIGH. A pin she had carelessly left in. It was stuck into my leg about a quarter of an inch, and the pin is sewn into the hem of the dress, so there is no way to remove it without undoing 35 dollars worth of work I paid her for.
DO NOT GO HERE! I have absolutely NO IDEA why it is so highly rated. The woman isn't friendly, either, and has done a poor job on three garments. I guess I'll have to start making the trip to Broomfield or Westminster.
