Not a good place to get long dresses hemmed. Last year, I brought a bridesmaid dress to get hemmed. When I went in to pick it up/try on, one side was visibly longer than the other side. Their excuse was " we measured 2 inches all the way around, its just the way the dress is made." I've never heard of that before. I would understand if maybe the front was shorter than the back, but I've never heard of a dress being made where the right side is longer than the left side. Ok, so I politely asked if they could fix it and it took another week for them to return it to me with an even length dress.
I took into consideration that maybe it was the brand of the dress so 1 month ago, I brought in another dress to get hemmed and the EXACT outcome happened again. I tried it on and this time, the left side was visibly longer than the right side. A woman came in to help me and I asked her if this was normal for one side to be longer than the other. She said no and said the same BS about "its the way the dress is made" but I brought in a different brand! She was hesitant to offer to fix it and told me that no one will notice. It bothered me that when I stood straight, my right foot was showing while my left was hidden so yes, people will notice. Again, I asked if she would fix it and she did; but I can sense that she was not happy with me. Excuse me, but I am paying for a service here and I do expect to have an even length dress when I drop it off to have it professionally altered. Or are they professional? Anyway, it took them another 4 days to get it correctly altered; but it was an inconvenience and a hassle for me to visit their shop multiple times just to receive a dress that was an even length.
