The new owners discriminate against black customers. On yesterday i went in and witnessed one of the workers let a white male customer leave his items for alterations without paying first. I have been going there for years and follow their written policy of paying when dropping off clothes. When i said i was going to pay when i picked them up just like the other customer they said I had to pay and refused to take my dress. I will no longer support this business and urge others to take their business elsewhere.

I had a suit that needed hemmed on short notice today, a Saturday. I got there about 1 hour before closing time and they got me measured and my pants hemmed in about 15 minutes total! Can’t speak for more elaborate services, but I appreciated that they were able to get me taken care of on such short notice when nobody else around would!

If you're looking for a quick place to get some altering done, this place is just fine. But if you're looking to do it on a budget, you may want to go elsewhere. I took a bridesmaids dress in to get it hemmed and the shoulder straps taken in. I was quoted 95 dollars which seemed really high so I went to a place in Conway that was recommended by a friend and she charged me 20 dollars for the exact SAME work. I've had things hemmed/tailored here before in the past and they turned out fine, but the price has always seemed a little high. So, I would just suggest that you see what other places charge before agreeing to pay Oriental Alterations whatever they quote you as it seems to run on the high end for all alterations.

I just called this business five times over the space of an hour during their published store hours and not once was the phone answered, just a recording explaining their store hours. I called them on recommendation from a friend. I called their competitor, who answered on the first ring. Guess who got my business.

Had some wide leg pants made into skinny pants for $30. I paid ahead of time (am white) in regard to an earlier review. Good work imo. Would take more pants there.

Dropped off an expensive pair of jeans to be altered. She hemmed and tapered them perfectly. She asked for a week turnaround, although I expect she would be faster. She also gave me the option to rush the order for $5 more. I like to have the option and I took it!

Language barrier is a huge problem. This place is the absolute worse. Stay away from it at all costs. They don't accept credit cards, because I'm assuming that they fear charge backs. Ruined a perfectly good and brand new 850.00 suit. Cuffs were crooked and pant seam was lopsided. After TRYING to explain this to the owner, all she would repeat is pay now. What a joke this place should not be allowed to sew anything. Terrible terrible terrible.

Definitely language barrier!! Took a jacket in they said they could move buttons but would leave a little place in the jacket. They didn't tell me they couldn't sew anything to make the new holes resemble the old or even take out the old fake button holes!! Now I have a jacket the just has random buttons on the sleeves and places where the buttons used to be!! I'm going to have to pay some else to sew in the new fake button holes just so they look like the other buttons on the jacket!! Next time I will use a place that actually has a sewing machine that can do everything that I want.

Took pants there to be hemmed and slimmed. Was in a rush when I picked them up and didn't notice until I got home that when I put the pants on, they felt and looked exactly the same before I took them there. As if they didn't do anything to the pants at all. Never coming back here.

So far so good, I brought a pair of pants that were to baggy around the legs and waist, they alternated them to be slim fit and the it was nice. I have recently lost 30 pounds, so all my work suits look huge, I just dropped off two suits to get slimmed down (jackets and pants), I will update when I get them back. It takes about a week to get back. Only cash or check, no card, very old school, but they know what they are doing. Highly recommend.
