REVIEWS OF East Town Spa IN Wisconsin

Sarah S

AVOID LIKE PLAGUE. Management staff is incredibly pushy and rude. Cassie, whoever she is, thinks it's okay to reprimand her employees while you wait PAST your scheduled appointment time. Spas services were marginal at best, but definitely not worth full price, much less when I used my Groupon. I thought I was going to feel relaxed, but I felt like someone put my face under a heating lamp because the facial was a mess. My hands were no more hydrated after the paraffin wax than before I walked in the door. A complete waste of time.

Nice ambiance, people and good price with Groupon.

Shannon did an amazing job with my cut/highlights! I've only gone to one other stylist in my life and, as someone with very fine hair, I was nervous having someone different working with it (we've all heard horror stories!). She was super friendly & did a great job matching the "low maintenance/natural" style that I described. Would definitely recommend & will be coming back!

Used a Groupon here for a massage before my wedding to relax. The masseuse was pleasant and welcoming; I liked her a lot. However everything was wrong with the place. This spa is an old house basically- so they use the basement as the spa area. (Salon is on main level). The massage room was dimly lit which was fine. You immediately notice the musty smell. It smells like a basement. Imagine that smell the entire time you're trying to relax. YUCK! The other thing that really turned me off was how cold it was in the basement! BRR! So cold the whole time. Bed was not heated. The small hallway where the bathroom and massage area is totally ripped up and nasty looking. Not pleasing at all for a "spa". Was pretty disappointing. Would not go again even if it was a very cheap deal. Guess that's why they were on Groupon in the first place!

I recommend it to people but I wouldn't go back any time soon. A few years ago I was a regular customer, but after the last time I said never again. The last time it took 5 hours for my hair to get pressed and I was told after that I had to tell them that I had textured hair. I was only going to their salon to get my hair done, so you don't have a database that has a textured hair slot? Other African American women told me they went there, but I don't know if it's suitable for us when they only have one stylist who knows how to style black hair and she is always booked. Other than that, the environment was nice.

I have been getting my highlights/cuts/toner done by Graysin for about 6 months now and he is THE BEST stylist I’ve ever been to. I never stick with the same hair stylist I always bounce around & he is the first person in 24 years that I’ve gone back to 3 times this will be the 4th. He does such amazing work, I always leave so happy and excited for my next color. Love him! Seriously anyone in the Milwaukee area 12/10 recommend seeing him for your next appointment!

Christopher Miller

Fun building, reasonable prices, and great massage.

Meagan Van Ahn

Came here after receiving a Groupon package. Haircut was just ok, nothing bad and nothing great. My massage therapist was fantastic!

Ricky Brammer

Had to schedule another appointment at a different Salon to fix the terrible haircut. Also completely lacking in professionalism. I've never written a negative review online, it was just that bad.

nicole Jackson

This is clean and the staff is professional. Chole is the service provider for me and I cant tell how much I enjoy services with her.

Joanna Taha

I’ve been going to Brenda for my waxes for a few months now and love the results!! Very comfortable and fast!!

I don't normally leave reviews but I felt my experience today definitely deserved a review because I left the salon so upset and uncomfortable. I have never in my life had an experience this uncomfortable at a salon. I had my hair done by Ashley. I want to start out by saying that my color looks absolutely amazing and I'm very happy about that. However, my haircut was not the best and I was very unhappy with the way it turned out. It was cut uneven in the front and the two sides looked nothing alike- the layers were just very different. I called the salon very nicely and asked if I could come in and have Ashley fix my hair which I was totally fine with. I understand haircuts are not always perfect and sometimes they need a little fix but what I was not okay with was the attitude I was treated with when I came into the salon. Ashley was extremely defensive, pushy, argumentative and rude. She told me she wanted to help me fix my hair but her actions and behavior said something totally different. I have never felt so awkward and uncomfortable in a salon chair while I'm trusting someone to help me and fix my hair. When I was explaining to her what was wrong she actually said things to me like "well I can't glue your hair back on" "well we are at a dead end here" "there's nothing I can do to fix it" which made me extremely uncomfortable. Then she got super flustered and took a part of my hair and just started cutting and acctually made it shorter and worse. When I pointed out that she now cut a chunk extremely short and uneven she got very defensive and walked away and got her manager. I was SOOO happy when she got her manager because honestly he was the only reason I didn't leave the salon in tears. I didn't catch his name with everything going on but he was amazing and super calm and super helpful and I appreciated him stepping in and trying to fix my hair. I actually asked him if he would please fix my hair because I no longer felt comfortable with Ashley touching it. He was more than happy to step in and help me out and he did an amazing job! If the manager is reading this thank you so much!! I would love to come back to you in the future for you to do my hair but unfortunately I would feel way to awkward after today with your stylist. Long story short the salon was good and I love my color but I would hate for anyone else to go to Ashley and get treated this way but if you can go to the manager of the salon I highly recommend him. He was great!

Brittany Campbell

I loved it! Graysin did an amazing job and I’ll be returning again for sure! Highly recommend.

Gina Mack

My initial visit here was great but, through the years the service has been done I'm haste and the customer service has not been exceptional.

Rachael Ruggles

LOVE my hair stylist, Aaron. He is the best! Perfect combination of chit chat and letting me relax. Always the perfect cut and color.

Melissa Juranitch

Patrick here is a phenomenal masseure, I booked a 60 minute Swedish Massage though Groupon and every part of my experience was top notch. When booking, the client service rep at the time (Raven, I belive) was prompt, highly professional, and very helpful. She informed me that you can in fact reschedule even if you book with a groupon code, you just must do so the before the service. I see no difference in this policy from any other service provider, it’s similar to keeping a card on file, and having short notice cancellation terms. I couldn’t say enough great things about Patrick! He really knows how to read clients, and truly listens to body feedback and clientele requests. Great experience, highly recommended.

Yesterday I went to get some eye lash extensions. It was my very first time getting them done and I was a little hesitant, but I'm leaving for Europe and decided it would save me some time on my makeup routine. I cannot speak highly enough of MARIA! Shes so reassuring and kind and did an amazing job!! I love my lashes and I've gotten non stop compliments!! We chatted for the hour it took to put them, and she's simply the best!!

Allison Davis

I have been going to East Town Spa for over 7 years and I love it! I wouldnt want to go anywhere else to get my hair done. The staff is very professional and really knows what they are doing. You ask for a certain haircut/style and they know exactly how to make it look like just what you wanted. The whole spa is very homely and I love when they have the jiant fireplace going in the winter. I Would recremend East Town Spa to all my friends and family.

Kate Rodgers

This is THE spot to go get a massage in Milwaukee. It's located in the basement of the pink house, with redone vintage-y rooms. Both massages I've gotten here have been exceptional. Carmen was so accomodating, made me feel super comfortable, and checked in throughout the whole appointment. Definitely recommend!

I got a mani pedi from my husband for Christmas. I go in there I ask for French tip. She says she cant do French tips. I say okay fine. I pick out my colors. I go sit in the chair. I dont get offered anything to drink, not even some water. So I put my feet in the water and she doesnt even take any of the skin off or massage them or anything. She dipped my feet in water then did the cuticles and painted them. Then she did the same with the mani and sent me on my way. For the money that was spent I could have painted my nails at home. I could have spent the same amount and went to the mall and had an A+ experience. This was my first time here. I just didnt think that after working over 140 hours in 2 weeks I would want to get out of bed to go 20 minutes away to get my nails painted and not even French tip.

Katrina Leeney

A very welcoming and homey place to get a haircut! Staff was excellent.

Alyshia Kroll

Have had multiple disappointing experiences here.

Do not go here. This business lacks integrity and does not care about the consumer. I went here for an airbrush tan late Thursday night. It was the most unprofessional airbrush tan I've experienced. I wasn't given a hair net or booties. The machine was having issues at first, which made me extremely apprehensive. The young girl told me she was going to have the owner look at it. She returned and showed me that the spray was even because I told her if it was not working properly, I could not risk it. I should have backed out at that point since I felt wildly uncomfortable, but I let her proceed since I was already standing there in a towel. Nothing about her spray was slow, steady, or methodical. I practically guessed about which positions I should be standing in, and when I told her I wasn't sure if my hands were in the same position as they had just been in for the opposite pose, she just shrugged her shoulders like she didn't know either. When we were done, she patted me down?? This makes zero sense to me since it would make the spray uneven. My hands were still dripping, so I asked her if maybe she should pat those down too, and she just said, "Uh, yeah sorry." While I appreciate the apology, what??? I told this girl I was standing up my best friend's wedding in two days. The best part of this experience was when I went to pay. I am the most patient, compassionate person. I typically wait until later to express my opinions with a business, but something about this place made me feel like I was going to be ignored and brushed off if I waited until later. Boy, was I correct. The girl at the front desk asked if I wanted to leave gratuity. I cannot think of a single time when I have not left a tip of at least some sort, but I told the girl that I didn't even think I should be paying for the spray tan. I asked to speak to the owner, and she told me she was in a hair appointment and that I could email her. I said I wanted to speak to her in person, so the girl said I could wait there if I wanted. I asked how long the wait would be, but when she told me it would be at least ten minutes, I asked if I could just receive a call from her in ten minutes since I really needed to continue to take care of things for the wedding. She assured me she would be able to call me in 10 minutes and that they would certainly be able to issue me a refund at that time. So, I went ahead and processed my payment. Did someone call me in 10 minutes? Nope. I had to call back to talk to a manager. That manager connected me to another manager's voicemail. Once this manager and I connected, she offered me a complimentary spray tan that I refused because I didn't feel comfortable and my event had already passed, refused to acknowledge that every other salon does airbrush tans differently, refused to issue me a refund, offered to "go around asking the girls who told me I would be able to get a refund," and refused to allow me to talk to the owner, claiming the owner is not on site ever. Interesting, since both of the prior girls had stated otherwise. Apparently this entire scenario is my fault because I shouldn't have rushed home to scrub it off and should have given the tan a chance to set in. Yes, I am sure that she would have given the tan a chance to set in if the experience gave her no confidence in how it would turn out and she was going to be standing up in her best friend's wedding in two days. I am in complete and utter disbelief that they are still in business.

Janki Ashar

Horrible spa service. Never go for a Swedish massage. They wont relax you they will give you more pain. They used less oil on my body and just gave such a bad massage that i have rashes all over my body. Not worth at all. Waste of Money!!!!!

Nitza Ortiz

Gave it one star for decor of the salon. But otherwise awful experience I left there wanting to cry. Went there for a new look and was told it was not possible. I showed the colors i wanted. It was not possible. I showed the cut and style i wanted. Was told ok can do that. But instead it turned out to be hideous. I looked horrible. Was embarrassed I'll admit I lied and said it was ok. Just ok... But I just wanted to run out of there and get home to wash my hair. And now 75.00 less, I look the same as yesterday

Lia Ness

I had my lashes done there a short while ago. It was expensive and exceptionally uncomfortable to the point of being painful. Not the lashes, but the terrible beds they have you lie on while you're having the treatment. 2 hours on that thing was extremely painful, I could hardly lay there anymore, in fact I couldnt. Which meant my service was rushed andmy left eye was poorly done. I have to say that if I had to pay the full price Id have been outraged.

I wouldn't suggest going here for getting your hair dyed. Although the staff I have dealt with are kind and accommodating, and I've been happy with my hair cuts, their staff seems inexperienced when dealing with hair dyes. I've went here several times trying to get my hair color the way I wanted it. The first time was with a groupon with my sister. The gentleman that did her hair didn't do a good job. He left dye on her ears and forehead and she wanted her hair lightened, but he darkened it. Though I was happy the way my hair turned out the first time for an all over highlight, I was charged additionally for the style I wanted (Which was fine, because I wanted a balayage look). I was told that I would have to come back for another session to get it the color lighted more the way I wanted it. The second time I went, the color still did not turn out and looked quite brassy orange than the color I wanted. I went again for a third time to get the color that I wanted (not charged because it didn't turn out before). That night I wemt out partying and it was a long day so I showered, but when I got home and showered, I saw the dye washing away immediately. It was washing down the drain like box dye. I was not impressed and I could no longer see the color after I showered. I also realized that the color leaked onto my pillow sheet the next day. The parking is a pain because there is so much construction, not only did I spend over $250 on trying to get my hair the way I wanted it, but including the parking and cab fares that I paid to travel... It adds up to over $300. Very cute place, I just wish I got what I paid for. I cannot afford to come back again because I have already invested so much time and effort trying to get my hair the way I wanted it to look. I will have to take my business elsewhere to correct the issue.

Persephone took no direction. The massage felt like feathers on my back. Requested pressure over and over. Massage cut short by 10 minutes. Persephone is not recommended!

Started coming here after recommendations from several friends. No regrets since! Staff is very sweet and welcoming. I've never had a bad experience at this spa.

I visited East Town Spa for a massage. I had purchased a groupon for the service. It wasn’t the best massage I’ve ever had. The hot towels were a nice touch and I loved the treatment room I was in. I was surprised when I left to see they were rated one of the top spas in Milwaukee. It wasn’t bad but it wasn’t award winning either. It seemed as though the therapist just went through a robotic routine with no emphasis on the areas I mentioned were bothering me. I think next time I’ll skip the deal and go to The Knick, where I usually go.

I have never had a massage before so I was a little anxious going into my appointment with this spa. My fears were quickly allayed when I stepped into East Town Spa. The building itself is adorable-- a mix of bright, fun colors and a lot of old-school charm. The receptionist was very friendly and I was checked in right away. I filled out the standard new client paperwork and my massage therapist, Grace, got me from the waiting room just a moment or two after I'd turned in the forms. I had read reviews about the massage area so I knew that it would be in the basement of the building. Other reviewers have said the basement was musty and unsettling but I found it to be full of old-school charm and very cozy. I did not get a musty or gross sense being down there at all. Grace was absolutely wonderful! She made me feel very at-ease about the massage and got to work quickly. I always felt comfortable with the draping she did and she offered me both a hot towel for my neck as well as a heated massage table. The massage itself was lovely. I did not even realize how tight my jaw, back, and legs were until Grace got to work on them. I am sitting here writing this review about 15 minutes post-massage and I cannot believe how relaxed these areas of my body are. I feel so renewed! When the massage was done, Grace was kind enough to bring me some water and then let me know that with my Groupon, East Town Spa offers another massage for the same Groupon rate if I pre-book it. As you can guess, I jumped on that offer and have pre-paid for my massage. I cannot wait to return for another relaxing experience. I would recommend this place to anyone!

Took my sister here for the mani/pedi on Groupon. It was her first experience and she is in her 40's. We got stuck in horrible traffic and arrived 30 minutes late(at least that). I called them the minute I knew we were not going anywhere on the highway. This was an important day and we couldn't reschedule because this was for her trip she was taking a couple days later. They were very understanding and, after a couple calls, worked it out with us. We were only able to do one each of the Groupon because of time restraints at the salon. I was simply happy that they were still able to accommodate us. The marked down on our accounts that we were still due for the one we did not have done. Everyone was very pleasant and helpful. Especially Sami. What could of been a very bad experience or no experience for my sister turned into a great experience. She is even looking at having other things done there and I may go back and have my hair done.

I have been going to East Town Spa for the past year or so for haircuts. After moving to Milwaukee, I bounced around from salon to salon, using Groupons to try to find a place a liked. I first visited East Town using a Groupon, and have since stayed. Greyson has always done a very nice job with my hair, which is thick and naturally curly. The service is good, the atmosphere is nice, and the prices are solid, especially in the city. I will continue to go to East Town, as I appreciate having a reliable and affordable place to get a haircut.

Belinda Bell

Terrible place, I will never go there again. Terrible service!!!!

Ana Manriquez

This place has so much potential to be an amazing salon/spa, but their personnel truly is awful. The first time I went I received a facial and I left feeling that the girl who did it was very rude and made me feel uncomfortable. She explained nothing of what she was going to do on me but I let it go and didn't complain because I thought maybe it was an off day. Then my mom went and she experienced similar treatment from a hair stylist. Most recently, two weeks ago I went to get a lash lift and Isaac not only did not explain any of the process to me, but his treatment was rude and the process itself did nothing to my lashes. I called to complain and explained my experience to the manager (who was supposed to call me back but never did until I called again looking for her) and she said they could arrange a do-over of the service but that it'd be with the same person. I told her I didn't feel comfortable being seen by him again but that I would do it because I had already spent the money. The day of my reschedule Isaac called in sick and I didn't hear from the salon again. You'd think that a place whose profit and reputation relies on costumer experience would go out of their way to make sure their costumers, especially those who have a history with the business, would return, but it seems that this salon not only doesn't produce quality work, but they also don't care about their customers. PS: I just scrolled through other reviews and I am clearly not the only one who has experienced terrible costumer service at this place. Before the management team decides to respond to my review and defend themselves, maybe consider that there are MANY reviews similar to mine and that you should truly think about the way you are treating your clients if you want to continue being in business and better your reputation. You are not the only salon and spa in this city.

My hairstylist was Ana and she was great. She made me feel very comfortable throughout the whole process. (Knowing that I have hair loss). The setting there was great as well. I am definitely coming back for a hair color with Ana. Thank you!

I went for my microdermabrasion facial on Tuesday January 8th at 1030am. The facial felt very rushed! I was extremely disappointed with the services I received, the facial description said it should last an hour I was back in my car driving home by 1110am. I was left wondering why it ended 20 minutes early? The description said décolleté massage which I didn’t receive and a customized mask which I also did not receive! I didn’t know what to do at this point so I just left.. This was my birthday gift to myself and I am so disappointed.

Lindsey Edquist

My stylist was Aaron. He was amazing! For all those blondes out there looking for a stylist that actually knows what their doing and what color blonde you want Aaron's your man! My first visit was relaxing with good service and will be visiting again.

Amanda Michelle

I had a facial with Jamie and it was awesome! I was so relaxed and she made me feel welcomed and at ease. My skin feels great and I hope to book with her again in the future!

Super cute location and inside. The massage was great and Alex did a fantastic job. Really liked his vibe. I did find that the sheets that were used looked a little old and worn, so that would be the only real feedback that could use some updating.

Tamara Seawright

I enjoyed my experience at East town Spa, they were very accommodating and knowledgeable about all the services there salon and other salons offer, this was a little out of my neighborhood but well worth the drive.

Allison Brees

I had the BEST experience with Graysin who did my highlights and cut. He was so nice and made me feel so comfortable. We made conversation very easily. He is also very knowledgeable about the industry because I asked allot of questions and he gave me advice on everything. I would recommend him to anyone who wants an amazing experience at the salon!!!!

Chiquita Watts

I had a Facial 12/22/2017, which was my Birthday. This was done at the Brady location, This was my first time. Emily was great the facial was very relaxing, and the after math was amazing. It was a great Glow up. Thanks again Emily, Chiquita

Was going to visit until I saw how rudely you corrected a client who as you say was indeed taken late per your computer system. Nope.

I am only giving one star because my wedding day hair did look nice, other than that, I had the worst experience with this salon and the owner Nikki. 7 days before my wedding I went to get highlights that turned out horrible! I asked for caramel and left with multi-colored highlights ranging from beach blonde to dark brown. Nikki argued with me saying it was my fault for not telling the stylist that I color my hair at home and that long hair is often difficult to color. Just getting a different stylist to fix my hair was a struggle. The salon did fix my hair and I was promised a refund from Nikki. The refund did not come through before my wedding day appt like promised, but almost a week late. Instead of refunding the full amount from the highlights I was refunded the difference between my wedding day updo and highlights. I was then overcharged for the updo and after discussing it with Nikki, she said that there was nothing she could do and that, "I got my money back." Throughout this whole process Nikki was incredibly unprofessional and difficult to get a hold. Honestly, if there would have been more time, I would have cancelled mine and my bridal party hair updo.

Nice service

Aaron gives the best massages! Stumbled across this place through Groupon and I will DEFINITELY be going back! He gave me ideas on how to prevent hunch back and correct my posture. He worked my shoulders until they unfurled and relaxed! Loved it!

Rhiannon is a new employee at East Town Spa and I highly recommend her for a facial and/or microdermabrasion treatment. She gives a wonderfully unique facial massage that made my week. I will definitely be going back.

I bought a Groupon and had delightful experience, not just a haircut. Morgan is Salon Pro with the vast knowledge of wonderful haircut on my difficult hair to cut which changed my 20 year style in a new and great change. I will be back to East Town Spa, it was when worth the hour drive to this enchanting experience from the busy world from the little classy sidewalk sign outside to the inside that hits every sense. From the sweet smells to a warm hello to the sight of all the details like art and hair Pros that enjoy their what they do. I cannot wait to go and see what Morgan does next!

Agnieszka Szara

Skip this place. I bought two 60 minute facials for this place. The first one was cut short and I complained to the manager so they extended the next one by 10 minutes. I bought another one thinking the timing was a fluke, and I arrived to the facial on time. I sat in the waiting room for 15 minutes and started my facial late, but she still finished it an hour after my original appointment time. I, again, emailed the management, and they responded: We apologize you feel you were not given the full amount of time for your appointment. Looking back at our last appointment with you it does appear that you were with your service provider from 4:35 pm till 5:45 pm. So you will get about 40 minutes for a facial when you pay for 60. They also said I should have told the facialist at the time. I did tell her and she said she thought it lasted 60 minutes. I notified her that she started 15 minutes late and ended on time, so there’s no way it could have been close to an hour. When I called they didn’t care for the feedback and I wouldn’t go back since they don’t listen to customers (looking at previous reviews, it seems like people have had similar issues and East Town Spa didn’t have anything to say to this when I let them know). The actual facial was overshadowed by the short length and The management staff didn’t care for the feedback.

Gabrielle B

This place is so cute! The lady who did my facial was very nice and gave me a free hand massage too!

Kayla Winquist

Ashley is the absolute best. I went for highlights and a major haircut and she did the most incredible job. I will continue to go here for as long as I am in Milwaukee

Pamela Garsombke

Sasha was kind and really showed she loves her job. Would definitely go back to her for mani-pedi.

Peter Panos

I understand that they lose money when someone misses an appointment, but when i have a terrible day and miss my massage ive been waiting for for 3 weeks and I'm a broke @$$ college student that spent a lot on it (even though it was a groupon), I really hoped that the human side of the business would come out. But it didnt, they just kept repeating the "24 hour notice" "forfeit" lines and really just said sorry we just get your money and you have to buy a new one. There are tons of massage places, and this is one i will not be a customer of. I've missed one or two other massages in my life with people that have the same policy, but they worked with me at least a LITTLE bit. Im kindof sob storying, take it or leave it. GGNORE

Mamie Riyeff

Receptionist was kind and cheerful, and Riley is great too! I am always able to trust her ability to make my fine hair look fabulous! Parking on street is never a problem for me during the morning.

Jenni Hart

I went for lash extensions, and I had Erin. I did a full set two and a half weeks before my wedding, and a fill two days before. She did a fantastic job and I'm so happy I went early for the first appointment. It took my almost two weeks to get used to the lashes (I've never done this before!), so by the time of my wedding I was comfortable in them.

I moved to Milwaukee and wanted to find a comfortable location for a brazlian. Rachael was beyond great! She made everything easy and quick!

My old stylist left the salon and recommended Sami. I needed to have something done to my hair for my wedding that was 10 days away, but wasn't sure what. I gave her some vague ideas and she knew exactly what to do!! I LOVED my hair when she was finished. Even the lady who did my hair at my destination wedding commented on the wonderful job Sami had done. Unfortunately it's pretty pricey here, so I will probably only come a couple times/year. But, you get what you pay for and it's worth it!

Jessica T

Jamie did my lash extensions, and I love them! Literally every one of my lashes is covered with an extension and she took the time to make them look perfect. I was really picky with pictures of exactly what I wanted my eyelashes to look like, and she truly delivered. I will never go to another lash artist again. It was surprisingly easy to park there considering it's downtown, and the pink building is cute and unique. Currently saving up for a facial membership package with her, too. Great experience!

I was excited to try an new salon.. until I called to setup an appointment..the receptionist put me on a long hold and was short with me..after not getting anywhere with her I asked to speak to a manager..she said she was not available and would call me back..that never happened. I called again and got a hold of the manager (Sarah) who was also very rude to me after asking a few simple questions and kept repeating the same thing over an over. She was condescending and did not want to hear me- she also says the owner doesn't talk to clients and all decisions go through her. I would highly recommend not going here and having to deal with the management. Not only that but they charge as much as other salons that have nicer facilities. This salon is run down and unkempt and not to mention, there is nowhere to park.

I was left incredibly disappointed by my massage experience at East Town Spa. I’m a regular repeat customer for anything hair related with Graysin because he’s a hair god. So for the price that massages here typically cost (though I got a Groupon) I was expecting something great. I rarely get massages because I can’t usually afford the luxury so when I do go, I expect to leave refreshed. I’m torn about leaving this review because the girl I got was very sweet and I know negative things about you can be hard to read but I feel like I need to warn any potential clients that the massage was terrible. My masseuse was changed pretty last minute by East Town because the regular person that the other reviewers had recommended had some health issue and had to take time off work. The masseuse I got, I believe her name is Persephone, was very kind. However, the massage was the worst one I’ve received by far. I purchased a deep tissue massage and except for on my back from time-to-time, all I got was a light touch from her. My legs felt like she was just running her hands up and down them. Even when I asked for her to please make it more firm she couldn’t deliver. I was left deeply frustrated and disappointed by my experience and like it was a total waste of money. I don’t think she did any of this on purpose. I just don’t think she had the ability to make it a firm massage. I’ll keep going to East Town for my hair and have and will continue to recommend Graysin to everyone but I will never use the massage service again and would recommend that if you’re reading this, you look elsewhere for this service.

Nice work

Had my eyelash extensions put on today and they are absolutely beautiful!. The process was quite relaxing and Mikelle was super sweet and made me feel very comfortable. Thank you SO much!

I called multiple times to schedule a massage (purchased from Groupon) and was continuously put on hold for extensive amounts of time. Once I was able to talk to a representative, she was rude and argumentative while discussing my request. I was able to get an exchange through Groupon and will no longer be going to East Town Spa.

My sister and I try to do a spa day each year and this year it was @ East Town Spa. We found a great deal on Groupon (which is a great way to try new places). We enjoyed a facial, massage and pedicure. Everyone was so nice and while our services were slated for just under 2 hours, we were there much longer. We weren't rushed through and really got to relax. For two mommys that aren't able to get much pampering, we were very happy with our experience. Thanks gang!

I went in for a shellac with a Groupon. When I arrived, the receptionist was complaining to another stylist about one of their coworkers and didn't even say hello. She was not welcoming and proceeded to tell me in an unprofessional manner that my stylist would be 30 minutes late because she didn't get the receptionist's text. She offered no rememedy or solution other than "sorry you can cancel or wait". It was just very unprofessional, and I will not go back

Sarah Hunt

A really great experience! Will be going back!

Haircut looked great, just how I wanted it!

Everything about East Town Spa was more than five stars!! Very easy to schedule an appointment Sarah was so kind to call us beforehand and explain about road closures due to the Milwaukee marathon, and give alternative routes. And Graysin can do everything! Great service in a gem of a building. Thank you all so much!

Mary Martin

Based upon most if not all of management’s responses to others here who left less than desirable reviews, it would be a waste of time to express the cause behind mine. What a shame - my stylist was outstanding and had at one point planned on returning- the management however will keep on until the salon eventually goes down. What they fail to recognize is there are more salons in Milwaukee than you can shake a stick at....they aren’t the only game in town. Tsk tsk....A job worth doing is worth doing well, and greed is not good. * in response to your answer......Thank you for driving my point home. I rest my case.

DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME AND MONEY. When I arrived at their Brady Street location, I was very surprised to see the small amount of colors to choose from. I was doing a winter white and found a perfect white gel for my hands, and then needed to find a regular polish for my toes. I found a white polish I usually get, Funny Bunny by OPI, but it looked very yellow. The nail tech (Kirstin, I believe), assured me that after 3 coats it would look fine. I said okay and she began my pedicure. As she polished, I thought it looked a bit bone colored, but she said to let her do 3 coats. When she finished, I looked at my toes and was disappointed in what an ugly color they were. This is supposed to be a white and they were a yellow/beige color. I said it looks a bit off, and she agreed and said, "yeah, it looks really weird!" I'm not sure why she let it get this far but she removed the polish and said she would do my manicure and come back to my toes. When she began my manicure, the color was perfect, even though I noticed that the rim of the bottle was extremely gummy, indicating a very old bottle. I was nervous about how much time we wasted so I just let her continue. The manicure itself was done very clumsily and I was very discouraged by the lack of confidence in the nail tech. She kept shaking the bottle and said "uh-oh! Not very much left!" We only had 4 nails done, I was beginning to panic. I tried to just stay calm and let her finish; I needed my nails done for my event that evening and at this point was going to give up on the pedicure since I had been at the salon for over an hour and only had 4 nails painted. The service I received is unacceptable. There are tips of my nails that don't even have any polish on them, every nail is streaky, and my thumb nail has fiber from the cotton ball under the polish, stuck to my nail. I wanted to cry. I cannot believe I paid $65 for such an abhorrent manicure, which I for some reason felt the need to tip on the cost of a service I didn't even receive. I'll post photos so none of you go through this terror that I did. I filed a formal complaint with the BBB. One of their locations just closed and this one’s well on its way! And I already knowwwww "owner" Stacy/Sarah/Nicole is going to say they offered a redo to which I was late to coming from an appt (called on the way mind you) and therefore they only had time for the mani, and when the girl who did the redo said I can come back the next day, for the pedicure WHICH I PAID FOR, Beast Town Manager Sarah said the offer was off the table. Don't bother replying, we've spent enough time on the phone and no one needs to see your fake apology- or as evident in your other replies to reviews, utter disdain and defensiveness. Seriously what manager does that on public forums??? PATHETIC.

Graysin is amazing. I am one of those people that goes into a salon with my Pinterest ideas. Graysin looks at my ideas and tells me what he honestly thinks. I appreciate his honesty and he is very talented. Thanks Graysin!

Julia Shaughenssy

Courtney is an amazing waxer! I have been going to her for over a year she is wonderful and quick and most painless wax I have ever had.

Jennifer Dzievit

I was going there for lashes. Seen 2 people prior to Morgan who mess up my lashes. Morgan does a wonderful job with them. I had lasik eye surgery and the medication ruin the lashes so I had them removed to have them put back on when I was done with medication. I call to schedule my appointment she was booked up and I put a down payment since the dont book an appointment if you don’t. My appointment schedule for this Saturday was supposed to be for 1 but it’s at 10 when I am working. They can’t get me in until 5/30. I ask for my money since I am not able to receive the service I ask for and can’t take off work. The manager stated money non refundable. I was told only if I miss the appointment or reschedule less than 24 hr. Mgr customer service was horrible with a current client and was no assistance. Never again

Sasha is very professional and the essence of what a cosmetologist should be. Very great experience!

Last weekend my husband and I went for a 60 minute couples massage. I had informed them ahead of time that I am pregnant and assumed it wouldn’t be an issue. When we arrived (early) we waited to be seen by our massage therapists. Around 10:17 (for 10:15 appointment), we were called by my name and another mans name who was not my husband. When I asked if they wanted us, my massage therapist was sure she had the right mans name but seemed slightly annoyed at the situation. She took us downstairs and when she read my paperwork (where I noted I am pregnant), I also reminded her of my condition. She was very clearly annoyed and said, “I wish you would have told me.” To this I replied that I had multiple times but she was definitely upset with me. The massage experience itself was subpar after this. The massage ended very quickly and I was getting dressed at 11:15. So we had maybe a 45 minute massage when we paid for 60. My massage therapist afterwards disappeared and didn’t bring me water until I was upstairs paying. At that point she handed me a cup that was one third full of water and she told the receptionist i had gotten a prenatal Massage so that I would be charged an extra $20 for the subpar, shortened, and unpleasant experience. I will not be returning for another massage after this experience.

Abner Avila Kohout

Got a groupon for my first microdermabrasion. Went in, was greeted, sat, and offered something to drink. The micro session was in a very relaxing room. Ask for Tanya! She's super friendly and does a really good job. I would go back to her if I needed a future appointment.

Holly Parker

Terrible customer service, the girl Sasha who did my nails was the only nice one there. Receptionist was extremely rude. Scheduling my appointment was a nightmare, when I called to schedule they said the didn't have "time" for a full mani/pedi they only had time for an "express one" yet when I got there at 2:30 for my appointment I was told they didn't have any other nail appointments after mine and they didn't even close until 5! So you're telling me I can't get a full service mani/pedi in 2 1/2 hours even though I was the last appointment they had for the day and the girl had to sTay until 5 anyway! Check out was super slow and then I was told I has to pay tax on the groupon I had bought! On top of all this one of the employees who looked like he literally rolled out of bed sat in the pedicure chair next to me and started complaining about his next client who he knew "wasn't gonna show because she bought a groupon" when I was sitting right there and I bought a groupon. Very unprofessional to talk this way in front of a customer. I would give Sasha 5 stars! but the rest of the place sucked!

Stacey Dempsey

Super cute salon! Receptionist was very sweet. Aaron cut my hair. And it might be one of the best cuts I have ever had. Oh and when he washed my hair it may have also been the best head massage I ever had

Nicole Shortslef

Went from brown to blonde, they take great care of you here!

Marie Prichard

EXCELLENT SERVICE. AARON ALWAYS DOES AN EXCELLENT JOB. ALWAYS SATISFIED.

Jodi Lemmer

Poor communication and customer service. Reply to Mgmt's response: Things do happen and I hope she is well. However, a 1-hour notice (in the late afternoon) is not sufficient for something booked over a month in advance. Thanks for understanding.

Adrienne Felice

My first haircut with Sammy at East Town. I have very fine hair and any mistake is noticeable, but Sammy is a professional and did a super job. Not many people are good at cutting hair, but Sammy definitely has that talent. The building is an amazing old Victorian and everyone there was very pleasant.

Monica De La Rosa Villar

Sasha did manicures for the women in my family and my sister, the Quincenera. Sasha was fabulous and patient with the moody teenager and my bossy mother. I typically don't get my nails done, but they were so happy with the service, I had to get mine done. Will be coming here next time I'm in town. Sasha is highly recommended; professionalism is on point and you will feel like you're talking to your best friend.

Shandal Smith

Went in for a wax to end up with skin missing due to being waxed in the same spot more then 4 times. I was only cleaned off at the top and once i left there was still lots of wax left in areas where the sun does not shine including my private area having to be forced open from being stuck together for so long with wax on it Very painful experience & i will jot be returning. Although The staff was nice, the service is just not something i want to relive again.

Taunya Thomas

Love my waxer Chloe! Great at what she does, professional yet personable.

Lynne Bialk

Love the historical ambiance of the place. Street parking free and fine after 6pm. But if you have trouble with stairs, steep climb to entry-level. Was pleased with my 1st time experience.

Kelsey Koller

I got a lash lift 5 days ago. At the appointment the bed you laid on felt like a board and was very uncomfortable. When I got home I realized there was glue covering both of my eye lids and took 2 days to get off. My right eye was also irritated for 2 days. It was puffy, red and felt that there was something stuck in it. It was upsetting because I had graduated a few days after and still had red eye that was puffy in photos. I bought a groupon to try this service and try it out. Even a few days later I see no difference in my eye lashes. It seemed they were going to have me fill out a form before the service but couldn’t find any copies so sent me in anyway.

Viva LaVida

I bought a deal from Groupon for microdermabrasion(10 mins) and facial(60mins) for $150. I reached 5 mins late at the day of my appointment and despite notifying them in advance these people refused to give me a facial which I had already paid for and also refused to reschedule my facial appointment. My money completely went down the drain!! Extremely rude staff!! I wouldn't recommend anyone to go here! Very disappointed!!!

Great customer service & atmosphere! Many offerings on Groupon!

I wish I could give no stars. Every experience I've had with this place has been awful. I went there a few years ago to just get a trim, and it was super uneven and awful. The girl spent more time talking than focusing on what she was doing. The second time was a week ago, when I got a groupon for lash extensions. The girl who put them on used WAY too much glue and they looked awful, were wayyyy too long and were completely stuck together the next day. I came in yesterday to try to get them removed and the girl couldn't get them off. They look awful and now I'm stuck with them for who knows how long. Please do not go here. The girl who tried to remove them seemed to know what she was doing, but said that Sammy, who applied them, was still new. Ugh. DO NOT GO HERE.

Maria Scherlina Ibay

I had a blast that day. My boyfriend booked this mani-pedi at this place and it’s so great. The staffs are very nice and accommodating. I didn’t wait that long. The lady who did my nails are amazing! Shout out to Sasha ! She’s the best. I’ve never had someone do my nails like she did, very gentle to my hands and feet. Unlike other places they grip your hands and feet that a bit hard and tight, Sasha doesn’t do those. She’s very friendly and loves the girls talk, it makes you feel comfortable and relax. I sure will bring my sister in here and my boyfriend for a spa treatments or mani pedi too. I totally recommended the place and must try the other services.

I just got a Groupon massage at this place as a gift from my fiancée. I hope it's gonna be a good experience for me......fingers crossed

Beautiful spa

Donnie Londe

The masseuse talked too much but the ambiance was good. Also, he didn't use enough pressure how I consistently requested.

Kate Smith

Horrible receptionists and service, but you get what you pay for I guess.

Sara Bryan

I love this spa! It's honestly a 1 stop shop for me. I get my hair, nails and massage/facials done here. They have a monthly spa membership that saves me a bunch! Everyone is so accommodating and understanding from the moment you walk in till the moment you leave!

Iris Alao

Went to get a brazilian and mani pedi. She used hardwax on me by request. Amazing wax job with minimal pain. Had the groupon for express mani pedi. There's no foot scrub or massage. No soaking of hands. Attention is strictly to nails.

Carmen Duvall

Aaron has been cutting and styling my hair for almost a year now and I couldn't be happier!!! He listens to me, gives great advice, and I always leave with the most amazing style for me. He also has an outstanding personality, which makes my time at the salon so fun. I would highly recommend making a hair appointment with Aaron. He's the best!

Angie Eakley

Aaron is the best!! This is my new place!

Cute place

Shelby Babcock

I went to East Town Spa for my wedding services. Everything was well planned and my stylist worked so well with me to come up with a look that I loved. Day of, my family and friends received hair and make-up services along with me and the whole crew loved their look!

Jazmin Binns

My 60 minute massage was only 38 minutes. I was offered NO DISCOUNT for my massage time being cut and paid $75 for a 38 minute massage.

Ara Kueny

Had ear candling with Tania - great experience. I expected a more intimidating venue based on the address, but the place was cute & friendly.

Justine Preedit

I got a pedicure last weekend with my friend from out of town. I usually go to East Town Spa to get my hair cut, and BobbiJo does an amazing job. I was not, however, impressed with the pedicure. First of all, the girl who did my pedicure was not very friendly, though the girl who did my friend's pedicure was very nice. They didn't spend very much time on either of our feet, and the foot massages were just okay. I usually pay $25 at another salon, which is a great deal. At East Town, they charge $45, and I definitely feel I did not get my money's worth. I will continue going to East Town for my hair, but not for pedicures.

David Bubenicek

Courtney is the best for a good deep tissue massage.

Clarisa Checkai

I recently got a facial done with Jamie and my skin feels amazing!! Highly recommend her!! The whole experience was great!! If you haven’t yet booked definitely do!!

Krista Sobieski

I purchased a Groupon for two microdermabrasions with a facial. I went in for my first treatment and the receptionist and Erin who did my micro were not very friendly. Erin never said a word to me after the treatment, besides how does my skin feel. She never told me instructions on things to avoid, which I'm certain she should have after getting a micro. I then made my second appointment to use up the Groupon I had purchased. I made sure to ask for a different esthetician, since I didn't really like Erin. I went in today for that service. The receptionist today was much more friendly (different receptionist than before); however, the girl who did my micro barely spoke. I'm not even sure her name, as she didn't introduce herself. She didn't ask me any questions about any skin concerns. She didn't even know I had been to the spa before. Then she says I only have a micro scheduled, did I want a facial. I said I thought my Groupon covered both, she just said OK. She proceeds to do the micro and then no facial. I asked her why she wasn't doing the facial. She said if I want to add it I can. I again brought up the Groupon, and said I'll just grab my phone to look up the Groupon to see if it's included. I found out the Groupon only covered a facial after the micro once, and I had already got one with my first micro. My mistake thinking it was covered, but then I asked the girl why did she not tell me it wasn't included this time prior to starting the micro when this all came up, and did I want to add it. She just acted like she wasn't familiar with the Groupon I had. This was irrelevant, you can't answer a simple question?! Or how about not just say OK and proceed with the service when I said I thought my Groupon was for a micro and facial. All she had to do was say, no it only covered one facial so if I wanted a facial today after the micro I would need to add it. ....she never did that. I would have added it at that time had a known. By the time all it was figured out, i was angry that she didn't say anything, so didn't add it. It was so weird. My experience with 3 different people at this place was negative. They are REALLY lacking in customer service skills. I don't know if part of the reason for having bad service was because I had a Groupon, but I feel like it was. If your company offers a Groupon it's probably because you need business, and acting the way these employees did, is not a way to ever get returning customers. Needless to say, I would never return, not even with a Groupon.

Sneha Agasthya

Poorestttttttttttttttttt service i have ever seen. Manager doesn't have knowledge on colors (for him copper is as same as red). I asked for red highlights and they colored me copper. I have asked for layer cut and they landed up with step cut (reduced my hair thickness). After all these mistakes from their end, they did not even provide any complementary service. They only asked me for redo the process (where my hair length will reduce) obviously am not ready for it. MANAGER did not even speak about complementary offering, he just denied. Never seen such reckless person who does not know how to treat customers!!! PS: Do not PRACTICE on us, make yourself experts and offer a service!

Ariel Powers

The lady who did my shellac manicure was very nice, but it was probably the worst gel manicure I've ever had. Within two days a couple of my nails had chipped and now just under a week after the manicure, one hand looks horrible. It didn't last at all, much less the 2 weeks it supposed to. It also was disappointing when I booked the appointment and they tell me the price but when I get there they ask if I had gel polish on and told me it would be an additional cost to remove the old polish. Which is fine, but it would have been nice to know before arriving, I would have gone somewhere else where that is included in the cost.

Ash A

I had a terrible experience at this place. I got a groupon for East Town Spa for hair cut, deep conditioning & full highlights. I wanted to get a hair cut & ombré. I had to pay additional for Ombré. It was a total Waste. The Stylist Allison burned my hair. She did such a poor job. She chopped my hair so short, & Ombré was not visible at all. A day later, when I contacted for a re-do. The manager Sarah refused to do it, & asked me to setup a new appointment & there will be an additional cost to it. I asked for the contact number of the Owner or upper manager, as she was not cooperative at all. She refused to give out the contact number as well. It is a waste to go to this salon. I am so disappointed.

Rebecca Steffen

Got the "express mani/pedi" coupon from Living Social. They are lucky I bought two.. would NEVER go back. While getting a pedi, the employees were talking behind other co-workers backs on top of describing their incredibly crazy weekends. The mani was chipping off within 2 days (48 hours!!!). It was definitely express- not much as far as comfort. Felt awkward and the employees weren't at all accommodating. If you want the same color on both toes and hands... may want to ask if they have enough in stock. Both times I went, there wasn't enough color in the bottles to last. Will never go again.

Trying to get someone to answer the phone is frustrating enough when trying to contact East Town Spa, but to make things worse, when I was finally able to schedule an appointment, and showed up, I was told that no appointment was in their system! If this salon charges you if you cancel within 24 hrs of the appointment, then they should pay me for them canceling without notice! I shuffled around my schedule a lot for that appointment, and I wanted to look good for an event the next day. I also came across town, during rush hour, and to find out that the receptionist failed at her job, even though she took forever typing my info into the computer for the appointment, claiming she was just double checking to make sure she has all the info in her system correctly - and yet somehow, no appointment scheduled?! I'm sincerely done with this business. No one should have to experience so many issues with a business. There are much better places to go to, where clients can actually relax, and not have to experience so many frustrations. This business needs lots of work, and hopefully they get it together before they lose all their clients. While East Town was failing to answer their phones, and while they were incorrectly scheduling appointments, I went to Salon Nova instead. They fit me in right away, and I am so happy with the exceptional work they did! Night and day from East Town. Unfortunately, I still have an unused Groupon for a massage and facial, and I seriously want my money back!! I cannot believe the amount of issues that I've experienced with this place. I write lots of reviews, but this is by far the longest...simply a measure of my disappointment.

cecilia newman

Very nice. relaxing and much needed. clean airy atmosphere.

Willow Baillies

I really wish I didn’t have to rate this place as only a 3 but unfortunately I received such bad customer service here multiple times. The service itself was fantastic and my nails looked great. The woman who did them was incredible but she should go to a different place. The staff messed up my appointment about 5 times and I didn’t get to do my nails until almost a month and a half after I made my initial appointment. This was because they kept rescheduling me after having poorly trained staff that kept incorrectly booking me. I would even be more understanding if they had just apologized and were at least sympathetic but the women I spoke to on the phone were really rude and seemed like they didn’t care that it was really inconveniencing me. I tried to be patient and waited a while to do this review so I wasn’t so upset about it and could be less biased but I still feel that they kind of messed up. In conclusion, the nail service is amazing but if you’re trying to get them done for a certain day or occasion, go somewhere a bit more reliable because you may not actually get the appointment in time.

Debbi Chi

I had a male therapist named sunny. I got there on time and he cut my massage time by 8 minutes. During the beginning of the massage I gave him my favorite aromatherapy. And I told him He could use it during the massage. He totally disregarded that and didn't use it. I told him I needed focus on my right shoulder and he didn't really do anything for it. His strokes and techniques were inconsistent. It just felt like he was just going through the motions. And not actually caring about how I felt. When the massage was over he pressed really hard on my ankles to The point where he was hurting my right ankle. I flinched and said ouch. And he coldly didn't say anything and told me that was the end of my session and to get dressed. When I exited the room I was going to get some water. But he said I need to go up stairs. Like what kind of massage therapist doesn't offer there client water at the end of a massage?? Little did he know I'm a massage therapist and that was the worst massage I've ever expirenced.

Fatima

Unbelievable customer service. I brought a Groupon for my mom for almost $50 dollars. She had to cancel the appointment the day of due to all the snow the lady we spoke to said it was ok. My mom called again and tried rescheduling and they said we couldn't because they redeemed it. Spoke to Sara the manger and she said the same thing and couldn't do anything about it because the lady we canceled from didn't have any record/note telling us that it was ok. Horrible customer service!! Unbelievable that a manager had no control to do anything about it. Stay away.

Jackie Kirchen

I had a Groupon for a haircut and actually really liked the stylist, so I've kept going back for about a year. Not anymore. The other staff are so rude and disorganised and unpleasant. I reschedule a hair cut and made sure to confirm it was with the same stylist. I got a text reminder 2 days before and a phone call reminder the day before. Day of, 3 hours before the appointment, I get a voicemail that the stylist (not the name of the person I always went to and thought I had the appointment with) doesn't work there anymore, so I have to call back to reschedule. Nope.

Why 4 stars? Parking! The East Town Spa is a well-preserved little hidden gem in the heart of Milwaukee city. Set in a quaint pastel pink colored historic building (my masseur Chloe said that it had served as one of Milwaukee's Governor's homes a century or so ago), the Spa sits on East Wells Street that overlooks the lake. It contains architectural treasures such as carved banisters and historic woodwork. If you are looking for some very modern, avant-garde ambience, this is not the place, although it is well equipped with sufficient modern tools for the treatments, that offer comfort and efficiency. The East Town Spa speaks of curious histories, the architectural beauty of the early 1900s, and very turn of the century fixtures. It could have been a very successful bed and breakfast, in another avatar! The service is excellent! The stylists and masseurs are polite, calm, and they are skilled at their work. They use top spa products made by Aveda, and by several other brands. The price for their services is very reasonable if one is using a Groupon. I didn't make a note of the length of my services so I can't comment on strict timelines. But...I can say that I was satisfied with my experience, and that my masseur Chloe is skilled and knowledgeable about Ayurveda. Watch out during the deep winter months when snow has piled up on the sidewalks. Parking on the opposite side of the Spa could be a challenge. Always arrive with plenty of quarters at hand for the meter!

Poor customer service

Jeanette Baker

My daughter and I had an appointment at East Town Spa in downtown Milwaukee for a haircut and eyelash extensions. The lady who did the eyelashes did not come to work that day so my daughter who had traveled from Chicago was not able to have her service.. The haircut was good although there was no deep conditioning which is what I paid for. When I attempted to redeem a groupon I was told this would not be possible. The lady I spoke with was rude telling me she does not make the rules, only enforces them.

Sasha was professional and kind. She put me at ease regarding my jankie feet situation!

Chloé Gutmann

I loved my cut & color with Ashley, she went above and beyond my expectations! I have super thick, naturally curly hair and she listened to all of my concerns and gave me one of the best cuts I've had in years, as well as lifted me to a beautiful blonde. East Town has a super relaxing atmosphere and is always a joy to visit.

Amy Jo Hartstern

Bad manicure and customer service. Most uneven and splotchy manicure I've ever had by Riley. Called and spoke with the manager Sara and she would only offer to have Riley - and no one else - repaint the nails. They are a disaster. This was a color recommended by her and worn by her, it's not the polish. See the pictures and decide if that's how you want your nails to look.

Shivashish Chakraborty

Really good.. I love the place

Alison Hoffman

I've had a few massages and a facial at the spa. No complaints - very great service! Rhiannon was always very detailed and goes out of her way to make sure you are comfortable. The massage rooms are cozy and interesting. If you are looking for advice on aches/pains or skin, they also seem to know what they're talking about.

Busy Working Mom

They require (even though Groupon says they should not)... your Groupon Code just to book the appt. They then REDEEM IT even though you didn’t go yet. Very unkosher. I don’t know what you can’t understand. Groupon folks tell me it’s not normal to give your Groupon code and have the merchant mark it redeemed until you go in for the service. Never have I been asked to redeem it just to acquire an appointment! I should be able to make the appointment, enjoy the service and THEN you redeem. If I redeem before I ever even have the service, I cannot ever get a refund from Groupon because they will say I used it. UPDATE:No, I never did make any appointment, and that’s sad because I wanted to try out quite a few things. Having a disability with walking and parking, I can hardly give up my time and money for no reason. Groupon customer service told me our Groupon SHOULD NOT be redeemed just to make an appointment. I wish I had time to telephone. I don’t. I use technology over the phone. Please respond

I love East Town Spa this is my second time here. I went for a massage and facial today and it was so relaxing. My skin feels great, my body feels great! Everyone was extremely nice, professional and accommodating. Chloe was my esthetician and I don’t recall the gentleman’s name that did my massage but he was awesome. I’m not sure why there’s so many bad reviews but I love this spa!

My wonderful husband bought me a Groupon for an express mani pedi ... I am a disabled veteran who is only 28. I have issues with getting my nails and feet done at a professional place. However my beautiful niece was coming up this weekend for a visit . She is 2 years old so I thought what a wonderful thing I'll just go and have a girls day. What they don't tell you in a readable print that you have to be a new client . How is my husband supposed to know where I get my nails done if and when I do it . I haven't been to this place since over a year . I mean I even forgot I went there . So now not only can I not use the Groupon . Groupon won't even refund it. Who does that?? Why can't they put it on there where you can read it. It was in fine print . Then when I call to ask is there anything they can do they say no. You'll just have to pay full price . Then the first women I spoke to was just hateful and rude . I called back to speak to someone else she was nice. But who does that to someone . It real takes advantage of people who are just trying to do something g nice for there loved ones. My husband understands how hard it is for me to sit for a long period of time . I will never go there nor will I refer people over to them either . I can see now why people complain out them. The manage is supposed to call me back . We will see . I just can't believe how they treat people who are customers not only that but disabled veterans .

DO NOT get eyelash extensions here!!!! I used a groupon and got a full set applied. Within 2 days they were itching and hurting like crazy and looked awful. I bit the bullet and went to a PROFESSIONAL eyelash boutique to get them all corrected. My LICENSED esthetician told me that if I continued to go where I had them applied, I'd have permanent life long damage to my eyes. PLEASE please spend the money and go to a licensed professional place for lashes.

The services are good...as far as massages...but the customer service is HORRIBLE. Geez. How are they voted one of the best spas in Milwaukee?! I've seen better...

Persephone cut short by 12 minutes. I’d definitely skip this place. There are cheaper, longer massages elsewhere.

I have been coming to this salon to get my haircut for 3.5 years now and have been very pleased with services I've received. However, my most recent interaction was the first that I’ve been unhappy with. First of all, I called to make an appointment for a hair cut with the stylist I've been seeing for over 3 years now. When I requested an appointment with her, the receptionist informed me that she is no longer with the salon. This was my first concern, as I did not receive notification that the hairstylist I have been seeing for 3+ years has left the salon. I'd think that maybe the salon would send an email or letter informing the longtime customers that their stylist is no longer at the salon and they would help those customers choose a new stylist. I was a bit upset, but I asked the receptionist if she had a recommendation for another stylist. She informed me that she would book me with "Riley" since she has over 3 years of experience at this salon. I was satisfied with this recommendation and thanked the receptionist before ending the call. However, when I checked in for my appointment, the receptionist said that I would be with "-insert name-" for my appointment. (I do not recall her name but it started with a J). I was immediately put-off because this was not the stylist I had been booked with over the phone...this was not the stylist that the receptionist assured me had been with the salon for over 3 years. As a longtime customer, I was concerned. I did not want to cause a scene since the stylist was nearby and I didn't want to hurt her feelings. As I sat through my appointment, I realized that the stylist was very new. She had to ask other stylists for help and advice during my haircut. I do not mind being seen by a newer stylist, but my main concern is that the receptionist did not follow through with what she told me on the phone when she assured me she would book an experienced stylist. So overall, I am very disappointed that 1) the salon did not inform me of my stylist leaving prior to attempting to schedule another appointment, and 2) that the receptionist was dishonest (or disorganized) when scheduling my next appointment. I am very conflicted right now: I would love to return to this salon but after this latest experience, I am not sure I will.

A beautiful spa stop when I was visiting from out of town. My waxing tech was very sweet & friendly, provided great service and made me feel very relaxed. Highly recommended!

Worst place ever... My massage was not worth the 195 dollars. It stinks like old pipes or sewer and the covers were old they didn't have new robes or anything. You could hear the staff outside the rooms being loud so it wasn't relaxing at all It was our first time getting a massage and I'm sure we will never want to do it again
