This was my first massage ever. I live in kenosha, wi and I am out here for my anniversary. I got the pumkin spice massage it smelled and felt amazing. Vicki I belive was her name.... she was fabulous. I feel so relaxed and I can't wait to get another. I would definitely either book a personal spa day or a group spa day. I would recommend this to EVERYONE!!!!

I have stayed at this property several times over the years, but only recently noticed a practice that I feel to be deceptive and frankly dishonest. When booking a room, they show you a lower price, then charge you a "Resort Fee" of $13.00 per night. Meaning the actual rate is $13.00 higher than the rate you agree to when you book your room. When I inquired about this fee I was told by the manager that this covers the cost of use of the Business Center, Exercise Room and Courtesy Shuttle, amenities that are available at no charge from everything from a Fairfield Inn to a standard full service hotel. The $13 resort fee is a hidden fee that you will not find unless you dig deep into the booking process or check your itemized bill when checking out. I really don't care about $13, I would have paid more for the room, I just don't like the way the try to hide the fee. The property is a nice old resort. The current owners put a little money into it every year trying to slowly update the property. It is still a little dated, but maybe that is also part of its charm. Great location in a beautiful, charming section of Lake Geneva. Why they feel the next to practice a deceptive pricing policy is beyond me. I actually really like to see places like this succeed and survive, so I hope they change this policy and continue to improve the facilities. I used to recommend this place often saying it is a nice place to enjoy the Lake Geneva experience without the stuffiness that other resorts in the area have. Now I am just going to be telling everyone about the "HIDDEN FEES".

First time there! Enjoyed it all!!

Horrible Place & Gossip! The entire time I was in there Tauna Marko made fun of how cheap her clients are in tipping. How they would spent all this money but could not give a worthy tip. It made me so uncomfortable on how to exactly tip. I wanted to just come in for services and relax. The entire time I felt so up tight. I would not recommend her or this place.

My first experience at the Avanti Spa. I booked a pedicure and was very excited to relax at the spa. It was the worst pedicure I've ever had. Very limited selection of colors, room was bright and disorganized. The technician had very long acrylic nails on that made it difficult for her to work with her hands. That meant no leg massage for me:( Priced unreasonably high for a very poor pedicure. I wanted to enjoy it, but it was awful:(

Walked to the pool at the Avani Spa Monday morning at 7am and it looked filthy. Cups, towels, chairs and pillows were everywhere. Looked like The cleaning crew has never been there. This is supposed to be relaxing and instead we were trying to find a spot that looked the “cleanest”. Also, we care here the day after our wedding and not one person acknowledged it. Not looking for free things but when we booked it we specifically told them this was our mini-moon and nothing special came from it. This wasn’t just at the Spa but the whole abbey resort. We even tried to get dessert at the hotel resistant and waited 40 minutes for a scoop of gelato and warm chocolate chip cookies. Said the staff were “busy” yet the restaurant wasn’t even full. The manager just walked around and did not help his staff. Very underwhelming.

BAD BUSINESS WITH TAUNA MARKO. I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND THIS PLACE TO ANYONE. MY HAIR WAS FRIED AND THE CUT WAS TERRIBLE. THE ENTIRE TIME MY GIRLFRIENDS AND I WERE IN THEIR TAUNA MARKO COMPLAINED ON HOW CHEAP HER CLEINTS ARE WITH TIPPING HER. I DO NOT KNOW IF THIS WAS A WAY FOR ALL OF US TO TIP HER MORE BUT IT IS BAD BUSINESS.

Terrible service. Ordered two drinks, fruit and cheese at 230pm. 4pm still nothing... Ridiculous.

Great services. We come back as often as we can

i was not impressed. I went to get a manicure (which was $50) and it was done very poorly. My cuticles weren’t cut and the finished product looked like I painted them myself. The treatment was nothing special and definitely not worth $50 plus a $10 tip! Also, the day after they began to chip at the bottom and top. Some very poor quality nail care and I do not recommend if you’re looking for a decent manicure!

I so enjoyed a massage with Kayla. It was relaxing and calming and very pleasant.

SIR TINY

The most relaxing day that I have enjoyed in quite awhile. Pamper ourselves.

Dreamy spa weekend this past summer, had one of the best thermal wrap massages here; if you can endure the being wrapped in a cacoon for an extended perioid of time, ot is sooooo worth it. Indoor & outdoor pools and all the fixings, right on Lake Geneva. Great get-away from Chicago.

Savanna took great care of me during a deep tissue massage. Was a nice relaxing pool area and hot tub

Fitness center hours are kind of limited (6am - 8pm), but there is nice equipment and a lot of it.

When we plan our vacations at the Abbey we always make sure to spend the day at the spa. The staff is very inviting and friendly and they truly make it a relaxing experience. I think it is a must to try it out if you are staying here or in the area. The hotel itself is probably the best hotel in the Lake Geneva area and we have stood here pretty much every time we go.

I had a facial at the spa the other day. It was an okay facial. I understand they follow a protocol but I don't feel it's necessary for the esthetician to leave the room during a service. A client could have a reaction during this time. Otherwise, the facilities were beautiful. I had a great relaxing day.

Space is beautiful. They sell lots of beauty products. I went in the get a wash and blow out. Michelle did my hair, she did a great job and was super sweet. Ran me $60 before tip. Only thing was the chairs in salon could use a good cleaning.

I've been coming here for many years. It USED TO be a place you could come relax and find peace and quiet. That is no longer the case. It still cost just as much.. to listen to people argue, play videos of kids crying, youtube videos, yell at each other even though they're right next to each other like they need everyone to hear their conversation, even people using their phone on speaker. No way you'll nap after your services. You may be able to read about a page every 5 minutes. Just disrespectful guests acting like they've never been to a spa before and no one doing a thing about it. That's defeating the whole purpose of a spa.. relax.. peace.. and quiet.

It was a great way to workout while on vacation and treat yourself at the spa afterwards. Goals!

In reading some of the "negative reviews", it would seem the majority are rated poorly due to other people's bad behavior during their visit to Avani Spa. It is unfortunate when people do not understand "spa etiquette". I go the the Avani Spa once a year as a birthday treat. I have been doing this for years and have never had a bad experience. I have been to other spa's in the area, and none of them even come close to the tranquil, peaceful atmosphere Avani offers. My services have always been outstanding, and this chronic insomniac has actually dozed off by the pool, for me, that is unheard of. The epitome of relaxation!!

My husband send my daughter and I each year as a Christmas present. We really look forward to it! What a great gift. The spa is the best.

Unsanitary spa. There was black mucky water on the steam room floor. In the hot tub there were old hair ties, grass, and dead bugs. The only two steam rooms were out of order. I told the person who did my 50 minute massage to focus on my hips and she didn’t touch them. My facial was mediocre. Overall very disappointed with the $200 I spent on my birthday spa day.

So relaxing, loved spending 3 hours here enjoying the water ❤

After going to the spa, I felt sooooo relaxed. All the complimentary toiletries did amazing things to my hair and skin. I LOVED the steam room. This was my first time getting a massage, and Tina explained everything and made sure she was using the right pressure- and yes she was! All the staff were super friendly. Basically everything was perfect and my boyfriend and I had a lovely birthday celebration. My only regret was going through Groupon but not actually staying there!

Anniese Lemond

My favorite spa. Great service reasonable prices. Great location. I try to go a couple of times a year.

Avani has ruined me for any other Spa. Their setup is absolutely incomparable, with a gorgeous and relaxing pool area surrounded by cushioned chaise lounges (and also features some outdoor seating). I especially enjoy the private women's steam room. There is also an aromatherapy room, sauna, and hot tub in the women's locker room. There is a coed sauna and hot tub in the main pool area. Room service can deliver lunch and drinks pool side. On days you prefer not to spend money on a service, you can enjoy the facilities for only a $25 day pass (except Saturdays during the winter season). Everything has been updated so that it feels quite luxurious. Robes and flip-flops are provided, as well as basic toiletries, including razors, shaving cream, spray deodorant, body lotion, and hairspray. While they no longer have a swimsuit spinner, they do provide plastic bags to transport your wet suit home. It's the perfect place to spend the day getting your Zen on!

one bad apple (TAUNA) ruined the whole experience. I’m glad I didn’t have her as my hairdresser. She is just really loud and obnoxious and how she talks about how cheap customers are with tipping? Like really tips are supposed to be like a gift when someone gives ,you appreciate no matter how big or small the amount. I’ve been going to this spa for 2 years and never had a problem but Tauna is something else. I will continue to go to the spa but someone really needs to have a talk with her about her nasty attitude. Just so that everyone knows i wasn’t the only one who overheard her nonsense.

I often come here for writing retreats and love the peaceful environment. As a woman traveling by herself, the separate women's area is what makes me decide to keep coming back. I will say that the women's whirlpool is really hit and miss - it has been out of order about 3 of the 6 times I have been here over the last few years (currently is as of this review). That is unacceptable - I would just stay in the women's area for most of the day if possible, but can't when the whirlpool is out. I also think that they should clean the cushions on the chairs more, some look very dingy and dirty. Overall, I do love the spa and it has great food service and is overall quiet unless you run into a loud group. I think the staff needs to buck up a little more and tell the loud groups to keep it down so that we (the other guests) aren't put out or put in awkward situations. Don't book a group day at a quiet spa if you want to act like you are at the beach or the outside pool.

I had my wedding make up trial there.. what a disaster! The lady had no clue on what to do, not even when shown a specific picture in front of her!!! I had to change my plans for my wedding, I will have to find someone else who does my make up. What an incompetent, what a disappointment
