It’s always hard to find a stylist when you move but I took a chance on Anaala based on a few good reviews and a gut feeling that it was the right place for me. Luckily I scheduled with April and every time she cuts my hair I feel very thankful I found her. I have thin, fine, naturally blond hair that has a tendency to frizz, go curly in some areas and straight in others. I’m so lucky. I have had many stylists over the years who have convinced me that I needed texturizing, layers, a razor cut etc and they all turned my hair into an absolute frizz of a disaster. I communicated this to April from the start and she said it actually made sense. She listens, she asks the right questions, she has never cut more than I wanted and she has a detailed eye. She is a perfectionist. I think you know you had a good haircut when it looks good even as it grows out. I can go a 1/2 year without cutting my hair because it grows out evenly, thanks to April! I shouldn’t go that long because it gets damaged but it’s nice to have that option. My daughter had her hair very long hair trimmed by an Asian woman (I didn’t catch her name) and she had a great experience too. I will continue to book with April and I highly recommend her. I have not experienced any of the other services at Anaala but would consider getting nails done or a facial. They have a nice little space for that. The salon always looks clean and for my last couple appointments the receptionist was very friendly.

I am so happy with my service from Anaala at Hilldale! I hadn't had my hair cut since March from there, and I thought it was a great time to go back. I went out on a whim with a new stylist, Jesse, and she was fantastic! I am so happy with how my hair looks, and she was friendly and professional. I would definitely recommend going to Anaala Aveda for any hair/spa needs! I will be going back in 8 weeks and telling all of my friends and co-workers!

I had a haircut with Tom, who is new, and he was wonderful. The most important thing to me when getting a haircut is that the stylist listens to me. Tom did, and gave me exactly what I asked for. And, the day after, I liked it even more when I saw just how easy he'd made my life with what seemed to be just a simple cut! I hope he sticks around for a long time - I'll be sure to return when I need another cut.

I've never used their hair services. However, I get facials once a month with Ari. She is absolutely amazing. Ari is professional and warm. She also is lovely throughout the experience as she is experienced and knowledgeable. I use their beautifying oil and the clay mask both of which leave me radiant. If you're looking for a great facial service, look no further!

April is the absolute best !! Her attention to detail and ability to find the perfect color is amazing. Especially if you are a blonde, you want her! I’ve done both partial and full foils with her and I am constantly amazed with her work! I highly recommend her as well as this salon!!!

Anaala did a great job with hair and makeup for my wedding! As the bride they paid special attention to make sure I was happy with everything. The test run for hair and makeup was super useful and allowed me to think about the small things I wanted changed for the big day. Michelle, Anaala’s wedding coordinator, was very responsive to email and answered all of my questions. On the big day they had champagne waiting for our group and did a great job with all of the bridesmaids – everyone looked great! Their Hildale location is also very pleasant and relaxing. Most importantly, my hair and makeup looked wonderful for our wedding and stayed put all night!

Wonderful experience with Erin at Anaala Salon. New to this area, I visited Anaala because it is an Aveda salon (love the botanically-based products and environmental consciousness behind them). Erin proved to be exactly the hair stylist I have been seeking for my curly hair. We discussed my hair, my lifestyle, and what type of cut would work with these, my face shape, even the curve of my hairline. The result is a delight! Cute, flattering, stylish. We also discussed the practices (and related products) that would help me make the most of the style, and my hair (which is very fine, tends to be dry, can be a bit of a challenge). It all has come together beautifully!

Jennifer Kuschman is a great hairdresser. She gave me highlights around my face( I have been coloring my hair a medium brown with her) and I have gotten sooooo many compliments on my hair! I think overall the cut, color and highlights are wonderful job!

I have been going to Anaala Hilldale for nearly 4 years. Nikki is amazing. She's great with suggestions and she will talk you through whatever questions you have. Everyone is very helpful. I love the new location outside of Hilldale. Parking is much improved. Their new shop is larger and more comfortable. The range of services offered, especially Sunday appointments helps set them apart. Customer service is wonderful. I won't go anywhere else.

Went there to get simple hair cut (Bob cut, no layer), around 9pm, hair stylist was nice( as friendly) but didn't ask me if i wanted to see back of hair or nor did she bring mirror to see my back hair. Came back home, length was not equal on back, had to fixed myself. Wasted $20 +tips(luckily i used that coupon otherwise $40). Other wise nice location.

I returned for a second time of having a haircut and such pampering treatment by stylist, April, at ANAALA at Hilldale. I enjoyed it and love the haircut and caring attention I received. I have rarely gone to real stylists in my life, having mostly gone to the quick haircut places and gone to whatever person was available, or have sometimes cut my own hair! But I splurged two months ago for a cut and style at ANAALA and loved it so much, I went back and will continue to go back in the future. Wonderful place and people.

Every time I go into Anaala, I love my experience regardless of who I see. I have received massages, waxing treatments, and hair cutting services at this salon with excellent results every time. If you go for a cut, get April- she's experienced and sophisticated and will ask for your opinion every time she makes a cut or a style decision. This is an aveda-based salon, so ask for the price of your servicesup front and be aware that some stylists may cost more based on experience. If you're looking for the Aveda salon technique but don't wish to pay the prices, try the Aveda institute downtown.

To say that I recommend Anaala is a severe understatement. In particular, Marissa is hands down the best stylist I have ever to in my life. This place is absolutely phenomenal. I do not write reviews very often, but I have never felt more motivated to write one than this. I had never had my hair colored before, and impulsively decided it was time to make a change this weekend. I chose a salon purely based on the fact that they could get me in on short notice, and the results were incredibly disappointing. In short, I had very over-processed roots that were bright orange on top of an otherwise unchanged head of hair. I called Anaala on Sunday morning, knowing full well I would not be able to get in, but hoping they would have something I could purchase or some tips as to how to rectify the situation. The receptionist was incredibly kind and understanding on the phone and, after checking with the stylist, somehow managed to squeeze me into an already full day. I arrived later that afternoon to see Marissa, who I was hoping would have enough time to correct the orange. Not only did she manage that, but she somehow managed to send me out the door with a color that not only looked incredibly close to the original picture I had referenced, but arguably better. She spent a generous amount of time discussing where my hair started, what had been used to cause the orange, and what steps would be involved in correcting it (highlights, toner, and a gloss). It was very clear that she was incredibly experienced and knew exactly what she was talking about. I trusted her completely, and am so glad that I did. From the moment I walked in the door to when I left, I had nothing but a positive experience here. The space is beautiful, everyone is kind, and the fabulous and cruelty-free Aveda products are the sugar on top of a very large sundae. If you're on the fence about where to schedule, just take my advice: Go to Anaala, and ask for Marissa.

I have had Jenny at Anaala style my hair for the past few years and I never would want to go anywhere else. Jenny does an amazing job at paying close attention to the look you want and has always gone above and beyond what I had imagined. I am always confident in her abilities and love my hair when I leave. Going to Anaala is always so relaxing and rejuvenating, you cannot go wrong with the amazing Aveda products either.

The stylist did NOT ask me where I wanted my face framing layers to begin!! She just started where she thought it would look best and yes it looked great, but communication is ALWAYS important when you're delivering a service. So thats where my rating has dropped. Also, she didnt ask once, at the shampoo bowl, if the water was a comfortable temperature for my scalp. The school trains you on demonstrating customer care tips like that and so that must be a must at this salon. She nor the receptionist were half way friendly. Would say 4.5 out of 10 for overall friendlinest. I dont expect them to be outgoing, but why not smile a little and make a warm greeting at the very least?

I went here for a haircut and got an appointment with Jennifer. The overall service was good, the package included a complimentary head massage, and a shampoo in $30 along with the haircut. The hair cutting skills however were very average at best. As soon, as we moved to shortening and styling of the hair I realized that my stylist hardly had an idea of what she was doing. This was despite the fact that I specifically confirmed the same on the phone prior to my appointment and repeatedly showed her the photos of what I wanted. In the end, I ended up with a haircut which took me 5 weeks to recover from. Overall the staff behavior was nice and welcoming though.

I highly recommend Rebecca for cuts and color. Rebecca was recommended from a friend. I am so glad I found her. I have difficult hair with lots of cowlicks but I really wanted bangs. Rebecca gave me the best cut I've ever had. She also showed me how to style my bangs and I get so many compliments. She is also amazing at color. She gives expert guidance on what will best suit my features and I always leave happy. In summary, I love this salon because of her. The salon atmosphere is nice. The hair washing station has reclining chairs so it is very comfortable. There are many windows so lots of natural sunlight comes in.

My hair is dry and frizzy, so the fact that their hair products are naturally derived is what first convinced me to check out Anaala. I went in wanting to get a haircut, and dye my hair pink. Jennifer did an amazing job on my hair. I gave her the reigns, and let her work her magic. And I’m glad I did too, because I’m in love with her work. Jennifer and Anaala, in general, are very professional, welcoming, and fun. Highly recommend, and will definitely be going back.

I was very pleasantly surprised when I was on my way to the Great Clips to get a crummy haircut and saw Anaala Salon in the same area. They were able to get me in very close to closing time and were very kind throughout the process. The haircut was good and definitely better than if I would have gone to Great Clips. All in all, it was a good experience and I was glad to get my haircut there... until they rang me up. I was very unpleasantly surprised when they told me the appointment was $47. Now, my hair was a mess going in, but it sure as hell wasn't that messy! Before you go there, make sure you know what you will be paying and decide for yourself if it's worth it.

Lovely Salon for a haircut but stear clear and ask specific questions for anything else. I am sad that this salon is price gouging and taking advantage of local dance events. The service I booked online was nearly double upon check. No cut, no hair wash, just some simple curling iron curls and a braid - classifying this as a "professional finishing service" explained to me as "because they used a curling iron instead of just a round brush". What? Not worth the exhhorbident price tag and quality for what I could have done better myself. They offered me a discount but not without first lobbing an insult at me in front of my daughter. So sad. Really ruined it for my teen's first HOCO dance.

Very horrible experience. I went to cut 2-3 inches out of my long hair and I ended up with 6-7 inches gone! The person that cut my hair was keep repeating that “our hair is still long!” But it was clear that she knew she messed up! I have never in my life written a review for anything..moreover a bad one. Please avoid this salon at any cost. From a long an gorgeous long hair I ended up with barely long enough hair to put it in a ponytail... I cannot look in the mirror anymore...I hate this place and the lady that this to me (APRIL HANEVOLD)! Trust me when I say avoid her!
