If I could rate 0 stars I would. I came in at 38 weeks pregnant inquiring about a pre-natal massage. I was shown the facility by Melanie, who at the time seemed very helpful and informative of their facility. Upon learning I was pregnant, (and letting her know how far along I was) she said they would require a doctors note. She said this was necessary within 6 weeks of pregnancy. She proceeded to let me know they could do it, even quoted me prices for a couples massage in the salt cave. She told me at that time I could have the note faxed once I attained it.
I reached out to my Doctor, who was slightly put off by the request of the doctors note, given I am deemed safe to deliver at this point in my pregnancy, but the office obliged to fulfill the request. I called the spa to inquire what the fax number was, where Melanie cut me off abruptly and told me they had no fax, but the doctor could fax it to me. Rather annoying, considering she would assume I would have a fax, but they’re the place of business requesting the note! No big deal - but then...
I called back Grace Salt spa to schedule the couples massage/prenatal massage once I picked up my doctors note, and informed the woman I spoke with who scheduled the appointment how far along I was, and that I did have my doctors note. Upon telling her my due date, she did not seem to care or acknowledge that I even needed a note.. and without me having mentioned it I highly doubt she would have even asked.
Finally, I get my confirmation call this evening from Melanie - and she starts to inquire about my pre-natal massage and how far along I am. (She clearly doesn’t recall the 2 conversations we’ve held in less than a weeks time or even meeting in person) She begins to tell me I can’t be in the Salt Cave because if my water breaks it’s unsanitary and I will ruin all of their salt.
To say they obviously don’t have their pieces together on what and when services can be provided is an understatement. During my initial visit she explained they were under new ownership, and I’m not sure this is a good thing - as this place has always been highly rated and minimal disappointments expressed in the reviews. Hopefully for them this is a fluke, but because they expressed such an unwillingness to have my business, I will never consider giving it again, nor would I reccomend it to anyone who is looking for an exceptional experience. For my ladies seeking a pre-natal massage, you have much better options available then to go through this fiasco! As a note, I have not been requested to provide a doctors note to ANY other massage therapist, I only sought out Grace Salt Spa, due to being nearby and unique.
Dissapointed, but not the end of the world. It’s just a shame I didn’t even get through the doors to actually rate the experience beyond just their very poor customer service.
