A few months ago I had my hair cut to an even length, and let it grow for a while. Today, I was so excited for a trim, and to reintroduce some layers. I came in with thick hair, even length, past my shoulders, and asked for some framing around my face and some fun layers. What I got was a nightmare, which just kept getting worse. At first, Katrina thinned my hair, which was exactly what I wanted. After she began cutting, and then moved onto blow-drying, I started getting nervous because I could see a prominent shelf forming. As soon as she caught on that I was worried, she became snippy and unkind, and I began to panic. I pointed out the shelf and she snapped, saying, "I said I was going to blend it later, after I dried it". She kept trying to blame it on me, saying that it was the way my head was tilted or the density of my hair (ironic because it had just dramatically been thinned out). Afterward she wouldn't look at me, and I was fighting tears, watching the shelf get worse and knowing there was nothing that could fix it. I am in complete shock. I went in with a perfect palette, long, thick hair, at an even length. All I asked for was a trim and some layers, and now I'm looking at months of recovery and grow time, during which I will have to keep my hair pulled up. I cannot believe this happened, and that framing my face meant cutting off three inches of hair in a straight line, and then hoping it would blend. Now I have one really short layer, and the rest of my hair. It looks like a mullet. There was no apology or admittance of messing anything up, or mention of a refund. I was crying, and ignored as I left.

Very friendly and helpful staff! Went in last minute to get my hair done for a military dance since the place I originally went to had cancelled on me, anyways, they were very kind to do my hair without an appointment and it looked AMAZING!!!! Definitely recommend this place to anyone

I love Sue! I go to her for my waxing and its always a great time. She is very friendly and easy to talk to. Even when she was doing my Brazilian it was never weird...very professional but warm and kind at the same time! Being military my schedule can be crazy but Sue is always willing to work with me! I wont go anywhere else! She also does eyelashes and professional makeup! ❤

I had bought a Groupon for Katrina. I got an all over color and I had noticed it faded right away but did not call until 4 weeks (my bad) when my husband mentioned it looked weird to him. When I called she informed me they only fix it within 2 weeks and I had to come in for a consult. When I went in for the consult she told me hair just fades that fast and its totally normal. Except I have got this same thing done many times and it's never faded this fast. Since it was a few of the ends I think they didn't get enough color on them since she was running low on color towards the end. During the service she talked with her coworker the whole time which felt a little awkward for me. They also went to the Taco wagon (unprofessional) while my hair had color on it and I am pretty sure she never actually timed it. Unhappy customer, would NOT recommend.

Went to HM because I had a Groupon offer. Katrina was truly amazing! She transformed my stringy dried out box dyed brown hair into a beautiful midlenth with layers and gorgeous highlights. The haircut was one of the best I ever had and it worked so well with my hair type. The highlights were placed perfectly and frame my face exceptionally well. And lastly their prices are good too.

Katrina was doing foils and a deep conditioner and cut for my light blonde hair, after I was under the dryer she came and checked me and said have you ever had to tone your hair. I said they have toned it a few times, she went over to the chemical cabinet and mixed up what appeared to be toner. Then she said it needed a few more minutes under the dryer. came back 10 minutes later and told me it looked perfect. ( I know that if you have to tone blond hair it is orange and brassy. She began to wash my hair and then put the Toner on, when I asked is it too Brassy she said no it looks great. I am thinking why is she lying, I have had toner and my scalp always burns. Then she put shampoo on again and pretended like she did the wrong thing...well that's because she had to wash out the Toner. When I got back to the chair I didn't say anything she told me now it may feel dryer because the conditioner I put on has protein in it that binds to your hair after a few washes it will feel softer and not so dry. Again why are you lying to me. I don't feel I can call her out because I still have the haircut left. But really why does she feel she has to lie. Her foils were messy as well and my color is not blended well throughout, the top at my part is ok but the rest looks pretty bad. Still some brassy colors. Will not return just because of the lying. Had she just said it looks a little to brassy lets tone it and get it right I would have felt better!

I love this place!! The staff are very welcoming and friendly. They make you feel right at home and more importantly everything I have gotten done by them I love. Personally Katrina is my favorite, she's the only person I let touch my hair. Today she's gonna do my hair and makeup for my prom! :)

I don't know what I would do without Katrina!! I found her on groupon a year ago & her magic hands make my hair so gorgeous! Ive been getting highlights for 15 years by many hairdressers & Katrina is so talented. Plus she is so funny! I always leave feeling like I worked out because I laughed so hard. It is so cute in there & they always have neat stuff for sale. They have a cool schedule system that sends text reminders which is helpful & you can schedule online which is pretty cool also.

After growing my hair out for months, I decided on a whim that I wanted fresh highlights. HM had a Groupon deal for a foil and cut with Katrina, so I went for it. So happy I did! The salon is beautiful on the inside, and they told me the owner newly remodeled it. It's a cool mix of industrial elements and calming spa/beachy colors. Katrina was great, she asked what I wanted and checked with me throughout to make sure. When it was time to rinse, she massaged my head forever, it was ahhhmazing (full disclosure: I'm super pregnant and truly appreciate any pampering). Highlights and haircut turned out just how I wanted :) go see Katrina, you won't be disappointed. The spa services seem really nice as well, I'll have to check those out next.

I have had the pleasure of receiving services from spa owner Susan, stylist Katrina and esthetician Kim. My experiences were top notch and I couldn’t be more pleased. Sue did a wonderful job giving my lashes a perm. It really gave my eyes the pop they needed. I will never have my bangs cut by anyone but Katrina. She’s so talented. My most recent visit was receiving a facial and dermaplane from Kim. What an experience! It was so relaxing and I love the results. I was looking for eyelash extensions in the area. I based my choice on hm spa and salon primarily on other reviews. I arrived 10 minutes early to my appointment and was greeted promptly by Kim welcoming me in and telling me she will be right with me. During my appointment Kim kept a genuine conversation and very knowledgeable. It was a very good first experience, Kim is an expert and friendly, and the salon is clean. I would highly recommend not only going to see Kim, but hm spa and salon.

If your looking for eye lash extensions, look no further! This is the best experience I have ever had. I got my eye lash extensions done by Kim Tran and I am beyond grateful I did. She did an amazing job and was extremely sweet. She makes you feel comfortable and makes the hour just fly by because she has a conversation with you the entire time. Also compared to other places that offer eye lash extensions they were priced the cheapest i could find which is surprising considering how great they turned out! Overall, my experience was better than I could of ever asked for. I highly recommend Kim if your looking to get eye lash extensions.

I highly recommend Su & Ehrin. I have followed Su for 8+ years; she takes care of all my body waxing needs. I've been with Ehrin since they became partners and opened High Maintenance Salon on 6th Ave. Ehrin takes care of my long locks (color, cut & style). This salon is a real family/friendly atmosphere. It's comfortable and charming, and sometimes the ladies even bring their children in with them. I wouldn't leave Su or Ehrin for nothing!!!

Susan is the best! I have very sensitive, rosacea prone skin with tendencies for flare ups. I receive the best facials from her, customized for each condition my skins seems to change to each month.
