I booked a body wrap and facial. The body wrap was fantastic. The therapist did a fantastic scrub and wrap and the scalp massage during the wrap was great. The facial was the best I have ever had. The combination of technology and mindful advice blew me away. The products that were used felt amazing and my skin looked amazing when I left. I have been using the products recommended (with the generous samples given) for several days and I am still very very happy!

Wonderful, relaxing experience- I will be a returning customer! My husband purchased me a gift certificate a few months ago to receive a prenatal massage. I had never had one in the past and was a little nervous about how I would like it- I was pleasantly surprised! My therapist was Marcia and she was extremely attentive to my areas of concern (lower back and neck). She made sure I was comfortable and adjusted her massage techniques to get out all of my knots. By the end of the massage.. I nearly fell asleep! Can't wait to go back to get my next session. The staff was extremely friendly and professional. Foundations Day Spa is definitely a hidden gem.. you will love it!

This isn't a corner deli, and any fees they pay to Amex are far outweighed by the amount of services, especially if it's an every 2 months service!

It was overpriced for the service. The floor was really squeaky and every time the massage therapist moved the floor squeaked ruining the experience. I was also supposed to finish the experience with fruit, chocolate and juice. First of all it’s a tiny room with a sheer sheet across it where they sit you outside of your massage room, while they take clients right through your area. This was not a private relaxing experience. Also, there was a bug in my juice champagne glass and the fruit was a few grapes, couple of raspberries, and a couple of blackberries. There were 4 Lindt chocolates which were nice, but for what we paid we expected better. For a $238 on a couples massage. Go somewhere else.

I scheduled the couples' instructional package on a weekday afternoon. Despite the small and relatively cramped feel to the venue, I was thoroughly pleased with the experience and instruction we received in the massage therapeutic arts. We took turns being instructed and demonstrated said techniques on each other on a body area of our choosing under the watchful guidance and tutelage of one of their professional massage therapist. Makes for a fun and relaxing date off the beaten path.

Fantastic massage today!! Called today and they got me in for a 50-minute deep tissue massage with Sha. I have CHRONIC neck/back/shoulder pain and all I can say is WOW— I feel like a new person!! Spa is comfortable and clean, very pleasant, and relaxing. I mention this sometimes, just in case it helps someone who might otherwise feel intimidated: I’m overweight and I was treated very well by the staff and other clients, was very comfortable on the massage table and felt very cared for and pampered! :)

GO HERE! My husband and I were visiting Alexandria for a weekend getaway and I scheduled myself the Pampered Pregnancy package. Best thing I ever did for myself! It was absolutely AMAZING. Lauretta provided the best prenatal massage I've ever had...she actually worked to relieve my aches and pains instead of just cautiously rubbing lotion on my body for fear of hurting me (as I've experienced with other prenatal massages). She is top notch!! Brianda performed the pregnancy facial and it was just as lovely. She was an absolute pleasure to chat with, her facial massage was wonderful (once again, it actually felt like a massage and not just application of product) and she used the most amazing cooling mask in the end that left me glowing. Front desk was also welcoming and even told me the cost breakdown per service beforehand so that I could tip appropriately. This place rocks and I highly recommend it!

It has been over five years since I had a professional massage. After visiting The Fountains in Alexandria, I am asking myself why I waited so long. The experience began with a friendly greeting from Storie who also took some initial information about my general health and preferences. Next, I was introduced to Marcia, a certified massage therapist. She also asked about my comfort preferences and if there were any areas that I wish to avoid or concentrate on. We agreed on a head to toes massage which was wonderful. While working on some tension in my shoulders, the pressure was a little much. Ultimately, it was worth it. By the end of our session, I was completely relaxed. This kind of treatment could become addicting.

I love Fountains. Have been going for years. Last Tuesday (12/29) I had the MOST AMAZING facial with Erin (she totally is my new facialist!). And Amy rocked an 80 min combination massage really getting my shoulders and back to release the tension. If you sign up for the Fountains emails you get weekly notifications of specials - totally adds value to the already amazing experience. They take good care of you here and the services are top notch. Highly recommend!

The worst! They don't even deserve the 1 star! I bought a may special which include 3 massages. I scheduled an appointment and had to cancel due to an emergency and because i didn't cancel within their 24hr time period I lost a massage. I don't understand how a place that's suppose to be helping you to relax cannot be accommodating! You pay all this money to be hold to a contract that's written in stone. I have a true distaste about them. I will blog and write reviews about this establishment everywhere I can that's for sure.

As a Fountains Day Spa regular, I've ALWAYS received the best service and care that one could ask for. And I never thought it could get any better--that is until I had a reflexology massage with Francis. I came in with moderate back pain and overall blah feeling. I'd been told about the benefits of reflexology and was eager to try it. However, I was not prepared for the outcome. Thirty-minutes later, I literally felt like a brand new person. As the day progressed, I felt more energized and my back pain disappeared--and has not come back. During our session, Francis walked me through what he was doing, asked me about my needs, and gave me advice about what I should do after the treatment. He was incredibly professional and listened to and respected my requests. (I know some people are weird about the feet--but he really does have the magic touch.) Overall, it was a wonderful experience. I would recommend it to anyone!

I get a facial about every other month or at least quarterly. Guinot products are good and that is what brought me to this spa, but the customer service is a little too blunt for me. This spa is overrated. They should work a little more to consider the customer and not just the business. Your customers help make your business. Its base is Guinots products. You can order the products from various websites online. There is also another spa in the area in Fairfax that specializes in Guinot products. I just went here to compare. The other spa is more relaxed. While I did get a facial here, I wasn't too comfortable with the desk people. Just a little too blunt for me.

I’ve been here twice one for Valentine’s Day and another once I became pregnant for a pregnancy massage everyone was very polite and tend to all my needs . I would definitely recommend this place to any one who is looking for great massage and facial experience it’s a 10 out of 10 for me

Every experience I have had here is lovely. I just had my 5th massage and don’t think I’ve ever felt more relaxed. I’ve had a variety of staff for a variety of massages and loved them all. Remember to bring cash or a check for your tip!

An Age Changing Facial ! I have recently finished a series of special facials at this little gem of a spa in Old Town Alexandria and have to tell you that the results are fantastic. It is a combination of a Hydradermie and The Lift - you look ten years younger at the end ! I have received so many compliments from my family and friends ! No need to have a face lift if this wonderful treatment is available. The Guinot products are excellent too which help to maintain the results of the facials.

Unreasonable and punitive no-show policy. I wish I could comment on their actual spa service but I didn't get the opportunity. I was late for an appointment, called, and they charged me the full amount with no opportunity to reschedule. I realize I was the one that was very late (30 minutes) and I was willing to reschedule and pay a reasonable fee for cancellation. But they charged the entire amount for the service and because they had my credit card to make the appointment... I had no options. I was very interested in trying their services... I had read all the good reviews. Now, they have lost a potential customer who will pass the word. Unethical and unreasonable in my opinion.

I have always been a little apprehensive about getting a Brazilian wax. I found Fountains Day Spa online and the reviews were wonderful. I was more than impressed with the atmosphere and friendliness of the staff. Annelise promptly came out to greet me and take me back to my room. From the start she made me feel super relaxed like I was talking with an old friend. She explained everything she would be doing and was SUPER patient with me. I have now been back two times and can't see myself going to anyone or anywhere else.

From start to finish, our couples massage was serenity. My husband and I had gotten a joint gift certificate for our birthdays and we decided to book Marcia and Jessica. Before we went in for our massage we were greeted by Lauren who made us feel comfortable. We sat us upstairs in a private waiting area and served us chocolate and fruit. It was truly a great way to bond with my husband. Marcia and Jessica greeted us about 15 mins later and we walked in o the room which was dimly lit and fantastic! The smell and music were so calming. Each woman was welcoming and asked us if we had any problem areas that we wanted them to work on or any areas we felt uncomfortable having touched. They truly listened to us! I had Jessica and her hands were amazing! She gave me the right amount of pressure for what I needed and she had a signature shoulder massage moved that helped my weary shoulders relax after hours and hours of taking photographs. We were given heating pads and eye pillows halfway through. Each woman spoke with the most reassuring and relaxing voice. At the end they made sure we had water. The whole experience was a delight and we went home super happy and fulfilled.

Do not use. They did not honor a gift certificate I purchased for my wife for her anniversary. I tried to contact the owner of the spa, but they would not call me or try to work anything out. This was/is a legitimate valid 500 gift card that they will no longer honor. No my wife and I are out 500.00 and a very nice anniversary present. We will never use them again, and my wife will not recommend them to her friends.

What a fabulous place. I was visiting Washington from the U.K. and happened upon this little piece of heaven. Being a fairly experienced Spa visitor I thought I would see how it was compared to British ones. I have to say it was utterly divine. I had one of the best massages I have ever had anywhere in the world and the facial was incredible. My skin was positively glowing when I came out. The staff were also just lovely and the general air of quiet, informal relaxation complimented a wonderful visit. When I visit Washington again I shall definitely be back!

I got a hot stone massage, and have probably had 6 or 7 in the past, and she still did incredible things that I'd never experienced before. GO HERE. Very easy to find street parking nearby as well.

I had an amazing experience here last week. The spa was welcoming as soon as I walked in. They offered me refreshments before i went into my massage treatment. My therapist listened to my details and truly paid attention to my body. I noticed I was tensed, but after my 80 minute session I felt better than before. I felt opened and relaxed. I had the best night sleep afterwards something I haven't had in months! If you are looking for a hidden gem in Alexandria, Fountains Day Spa is it! I had such a wonderful experience at Fountains Day Spa. This was a long waited Christmas gift and well worth it. I'll be coming back! Today I had a combination massage and facial. My massage was with Tiffany and she massaged my hips like non-other. It sounds funny but most massage therapists stay away from the hip and thigh area. Her technique felt amazing. My facial was with Suzanne and she is a gem. She is so knowledgeable and so helpful with clearing up my pimply dry skin. I left feeling so much better. My next visit I hope to get reflexology with Suzanne. I used to live in China and miss all those great foot massages. They are painful but well worth the healing affects that follow afterwards. Looking forward to my next visit!

I was less than pleased with my facial here. I told the facialist that I was concerned about break outs, my primary skin concern. There were no extractions and I left feeling like nothing had been done to improve my skin. Probably wouldn't have been so upset had the price tag not been so high. Overall the location is nice and staff seem nice too but I was not impressed. Definitely not worth the price.

Had an absolutely wonderful facial today! Staff was super nice and the place was very clean, everyone was very welcoming and pleasant. My facialist Erin was wonderful, talked to me about my skin concerns and walked me through everything she did along the way. A little pricey - $106 for a 45 minute facial before gratuity - but really not bad for the area. Would definitely recommend this place for a relaxing spa experience!

My boyfriend and I came here for a couples massage and I loved it. The place itself was relatively small but that is to be expected of many of the row houses in Old Town. When you walk in, the scent is so inviting, fresh, and clean. The staff is very welcoming and professional. The massages were fantastic. Ask for either Amy or Tiffany. I definitely recommend and would come back again.

I have seen Amy at Fountains for deep tissue/combination massage twice and she is amazingly strong and does a great job working out knots in tense muscles. I highly recommend seeing her to address stubborn tension in your back or shoulders--if you like a lot of pressure and sometimes find massage lacking or not deep into the muscle, see Amy!

Fountain is one of the few, if not the only, spa that actually caters to and has a service line for male clientele without all of the fuss or making me feel out of place at a spa. It is the main reason I have consistently returned to Fountain. It is quaint. The staff is friendly but not syrupy and the service is always on time and as requested. It's a great way to spend an afternoon unwinding. I highly recommend to men who might be reluctant to visit a spa but sorely (pun intended) need a neck, shoulders, or foot massage. Worth. Every. Second time getting a treatment (back facial and hydradermie) here and both were great experiences. I highly recommend Annelise! She is professional, conversational and knowledgeable about the scientific aspect of skin care. I appreciated her honesty and recommendations!
