The atmosphere is nice, along with the rooms being clean. I also loved the essential oils. I brought my boyfriend here who is a professional fighter to relieve some pain and it was his first time getting a professional massage. Luckily he had a great masseuse and loved it. Unfortunately I can not say the same. My masseuse was sick and coughing throughout the massage. I feel terrible complaining about her sickness because that is something she cannot help but she should not be at work touching and handling people while sick. Also, she left the room 4 times during the massage, and not because of her sickness. She was answering phone calls as well and created a environment that was not relaxing. When you are paying for a 60 minute massage you expect to pay for a massage for 60 minutes and not a 40 minute massage because the masseuse needs four breaks.

Definitely will never recommend this place to anyone!! The receptionist is extremely rude and needs to learn how to talk to customers! The massage left me extremely sore. My boyfriend and I went for a couples massage to end our vacation. What was supposed to be a relaxing time ended up being painful and stressful! No matter how many times we told the masseuses that they were applying too much pressure they didn’t seem to care and kept on going. To make it worse the receptionist then tried to pressure us to leave a bigger tip without caring that we weren’t pleased with our massages at all! I wouldn’t go back there even if the massages were free. That’s how bad it was. Save your tome and money and go somewhere else! PLEASE!!

I should of read reviews sooner before i decided to make an appointment just Bc of their Groupon deal. The person giving me the massage did a good job, even though i honestly was expecting to receive a one of a kind massage the one where you fall asleep and don’t want to leave. I did not like a few things (1) they force you to give the tip they ask for! & that is a huge red flag for me. (2) they showed me the timer when time was done, but not when they start it. I have no problem tho just next time I’ll do my research better!

This was without a doubt, the worst massage I have ever had in my life. I love a great cheap massage, and have had great experiences at these types of places in the past. I had to stop them several times during what I can only describe as a forceful, overly fast massage without any regard to how the customer was responding. Putting fingers in ears. Slamming face into the brittle towel and thin padding. I tried to tell them to slow down and or do something differently in the first 10 munutes, but they don’t speak English so didn’t get anything productive related by. I should have just walked out. No relaxation. No knots worked out. I’m just hoping I don’t have permanent damage from the therapist. Seriously. For the love of god please skip this place and go ANYWHERE else. If you enjoy this place like a few of the reviewers - you should be re-evaluating your life decisions.

I would not recommend coming here if your wanted a quality massage. I booked a reservation for a couples massage and it was terrible. First, the massage room smelled like feet and corn chips upon arrival. The offer promised aromatherapy but it was nothing pleasant about these fumes. Second, the massage therapist both gave dry massages. They refused to use oil for a third of the massage. Not to mention, the male therapist was sick and had a smokers cough that kept hacking up phlegm during the massage while passing gas periodically. He was very rough with my lady and rushed through the massage. The woman therapist I had did not apply any pressure and just gave me a 60-minute skin graze session. Lastly, the linen covering was not of the finest quality at all. I actually feel really disgusting and need to take a shower right after writing this review. I don't recommend this place at all unless you want to be treated like human sandpaper, rag doll, or tickle board while being trapped in a room with feet, germs, and silent butt deadly aromas.

I'm surprised by the negative reviews. I had a great experience. We were 30mins early to our appointment and they were able to get right in. The room was quiet and clean. My masseuse asked if the pressure was okay and any sore spots that I had she spent some extra time on. The hot stones were lovely and the oil we had was orange scented. The building is on the older side and isn't glamorous like a high end spa, but that didn't detract from the service we got. They are metro accessable, and there is street parking (no dedicated lot). I think some other reviewers don't realize that a deep tissue massage often leaves sore spots not to any fault of the masseuse. I will definitely be returning.

I've been to a lot of massage parlors where you have either good service or a nice atmosphere and almost never both.This is the Best massage therapist I have ever had and have made this part of my body health maintenance routine. Essential for staying fit, flexible and pain free!! Extremely knowledgeable and very well trained. Love the calm atmosphere band good energy. my masseuse NANCY she is amazing. She was both attentive and responsive to feedback I gave during the massage. Overall an incredibly relaxing experience.

It is also conveniently located next to the Whole Foods in Clarendon. While they do their best to keep the noise level down you still hear some residual noise from the street and the air conditioning.

WORST PLACE EVER! DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY! 1. You can hear when the music starts over which messes up the ambience. 2. The walls are extremely thin so you can hear the workers conversations. 3. I got a hot stone massage. I thought with the hot stone they aren’t suppose to go too deep with the massage. My back has been in pain since I left this place. It’s been about 2 weeks now. Smh

I wasn't very happy and here is why: 1: The masseuses were not professional, they were Chinese ladies that day a below average massage. You probably guessed it, no certification. 2: Our 60 min massage was less than 50 min. 3: They force you to pay $20 tip. I put down $15 for a $110 massage (that's is what they deserved) but the lady suggested I put more. I was there with a good friend and didn't want to make a scene and make her uncomfortable so I let it be. If you want a very mediocre massage by untrained masseuses, go here else I suggest going elsewhere.

I honestly was not sure what to expect based on reviews I read prior to redeeming my gift certificate. Overall, my masseuse Kevin did a really good job. He was professional and made sure I was comfortable and ok throughout the duration of my massage. Of all of the places I have been for massages from a cruise to more elegant spas, and a chain massage company, I felt he provided a higher quality massage that was catered to the areas of my body that needed the most relief with the appropriate amount of pressure. My husband and I had a couples massage, he had no complaints about his masseuse or the quality of his massage, but that was only his second professional massage. Here is a break down of pros and cons for those looking for an honest opinion: Pros - affordable prices - quality massage - appropriately timed massage - polite & professional masseuse - neatly set up and decorated - good customer service (asked about pressure and comfort, provided water, and showed appreciation for coming) Cons - location (difficult parking) - building (not ideal relaxing environment) - massage setting doesn't eliminate outside noise (heard other customers, phone ringing, and street noise) - communication (limited English) - cleanliness (the rooms are dark so you can't really see if things are clean and I am unsure if they had a laundering area) - no request for info other than the type of pressure (light, medium, or heavy) it would be nice for them to ask about trouble zones or areas where you would like more focus. They should also ask about medical conditions or skin sensitivities bc they do not display the products they use except the essential oils. In my opinion, they attempted to provide a professional experience, but have limitations based on the space they are in. It does not create an atmosphere for total relaxation. I will probably return for services if I would like a quality inexpensive massage for pain relief. I would not recommend gifting this or utilizing this spa for special occasions or a stellar relaxation session.

My girlfriend and i went for a couples massage this Thursday. It was $99 for both together. My girlfriend had Anna and I had Karen. The messages were wonderful and included hot stones. Place was clean, staff was nice, and as you all know the weather was beautiful. Hit the trifecta. Can't wait for Spring, and also for another message from Couples!!

Rooms are not private. You can hear over the wall into next room. You can hear the phone ringing at the front desk out front. Not relaxing atmosphere for a massage. They don't seem to realize this.

Spent the first few minutes going back and forth with one of the masseuses because she didn’t understand that our Groupon was for two people even though it said “for two people”. She was looking for the word couple and tried to insist that it was for one person. The massage and facial were mediocre and my specific masseuses hands smelled like cigarettes which was repulsive. At the end they force you to a tip of at least $10.00/ person, not how much you want/are able to give. Will not be going back.

My second time to the salon it had a slight renovation to the front reception area. I must admit my first visit was better. My husband thought the same. I will return again to seek the first time experience again! I was given card wirh promotion for follow up visit. The staff as usual is her polite and professional. Great location and access.

Okay, so I did a lot of research as I wanted to surprise my fiance for his bday with a message and this place was pretty good. Both of us enjoyed our messages and would visit again if in the area. They really did a good job at relaxing our bodies and especially some sore spots we both had (my back/ his knee). My only suggestion is that you go early because it is a small place so once things get busy you are easily able to her other convos. and people entering in and out of the door. They one bad thing I have to say is that, when it was time to pay she informed me that I had to pay a $10 min. per message for a tip. I know this is not really true and I can pay what I want but I did not like that she in tried to make it seem like it was a requirement and I only did so because it was his birthday and I did not want to cause a problem! But other than that it was good! Lastly...check groupon for deals and if you call and let them now they will probably match or make it a little cheaper.

Not sure what is so relaxing about this place. I was so disappointed from the moment I walked in till the end of this horrifying experience. Towels are old and dirty, staff is unpleasant and rude, rooms are dirty, you can even hear all the noise from the cars driving by this location. If you are looking for dissatisfaction this is the right place to be.

I am surprised by the mixed reviews. Perhaps it helps to get the right masseuse? WENDY was terrific. Great hand pressure and the oil, hot rocks and hot pot she applied made the massage unusually good. She makes sure you are comfortable. I would go back. Also, the base price was very inexpensive ($60) I tipped generously.

Worst experience! If I could give 1/2 star I would! 1) appt was at 6:30 but we didn't get into our room until 7:11 2) it was extremely cold 3)the towels where I would lay my face was dirty and I had to ask them to change it 4) you can hear the people in waiting room talking, phones ringing, even the traffic which was not relaxing at all 5) the masseuse was not certified- he rubbed my back with his thumbs with so much force i had to stop him several times but he spoke no English. 6) we heard the next couple complain about the wait time so while I still had 15 min left my masseuse left and the very pregnant receptionist came in and started rubbing my face with her very cold hands. She explained he had to leave and offered 10 additional min of her rubbing, I opted out! We would NOT recommend this place to anyone and would NEVER ourself return to this place!

Great massage! Same day service is uncommon in this area but they go out of there way every time I call. Love the hot stones. My boyfriend and I bought a packaged deal for 10 massages and love treating ourselves a few Sundays a month. Would definitely recommend!

Recently returned to this spa after a bad experience with a male masseur. Nancy, the lady that I saw this last time, was amazing. Perfect pressure, very thorough! Definitely going to come back to see her. Their package deals are pretty good ($200 for 5 sessions, can't beat that). The 60-minute massage includes hot stones, essential oils, face and scalp massage. Thank you, Nancy, you've restored my faith in Couples Retreat Day Spa.

I had a couples massage and it was fantastic. We had Lucy and Lida. The Groupon was for an hour massage and included hot stones, hot beads, hot towels, and hot oil. My therapist really worked out my knots. The only downfall with this place is that you can hear others around you which can get distracting. We tipped $20 per person and you should always expect to tip, even with a Groupon.

HORRIBLE! This place falsely sells a wonderful relaxing place. There was nothing relaxing about this establishment. Massages felt forceful and there was no regard for customer's preference. Their mentality is one size fits all unfortunately. I have a shoulder rotator cuff problem and at no point did they inquire to see if there were any areas I preferred they didn't handle. They forcefully bent my arm in a way that caused a sharp shooting pain into my shoulder. Needless to say I left in more pain than I arrived. They do not focus on the customer at all, but rather they just want to get you in and get you out the door. It was all very mechanical and forceful. My girlfriend, whom I went with, also hated the massage and complained about a very painful and repetitive pressure applied on the bone (not the knots). It seems like they do not know what they are doing. To top it all off they insisted in me doubling my tip which I didn't even believe they deserved in the first place. This was the WORST couple's massage I have EVER been on, and I don't wish it upon anyone. I will most definitely not be going back.

Went for a couples massage Massage was great until she got on the table and I felt her pelvis on my head, very awkward. Aroma therapy was suppose to be included in the price, however I didn’t smell no aroma at all except the Chinese restaurant food coming in the open back door. I was expecting maybe some fresh fruit and a drink in a room to relax in before leaving. However that was not the case. Instead I was rushed out and when I offered $10.00 tip they insist that I pay $20.00. Will not return.
