The SALON is subpar at best. I have had my hair cut/colored there four times and have had one good experience. Once they did such an awful job on the color they had to strip and re-color my hair. On my most recent experience I went in to get my hair cut and I left with my hair five inches shorter than what I had asked. If you go in with no expectation, idea or hope for how you want your hair to look they do alright. I am not overly attached to my hair but I am a bit peeved at the results. I think after three bad experiences I can say that I won't be returning to this salon or recommending it to anyone, ever.

About a week ago I went in for shellac toes and a haircut. The girl doing my toes seemed like she was in a hurry. My toes got burnt in the dryer thing they have, both of my big toes came out awful. I had to go back and ask her to redo them because they were smeared and bubbled. A few of my other toes weren't fully covered with the polish. The girl who cut my hair did a great job. It took a minute to get used to it but I really do like it. I went back to Amara a week later to get shellac on my fingers. I booked with another girl who was super nice and helped me pick out a cute color. The shellac on my nails are uneven and thick. It doesn't look smooth. Not worth the $35 they charge.

Love my hairdresser Junell at Amara in Orem! She does a great job with color and style. Her round brush blow outs are the BEST. Amara has a front- end boutique with darling clothes, shoes, accessories, and swim wear. Great selection for the small size storefront. Prices tend to be a little high...so watch it.

If they make a mistake, they are not willing to fix it. They use a liability release form not to protect themselves, but to take your money. A normal salon would try to fix your problem. This salon says they will give you back your money, and it looks like they did, but then they abuse the banking system so that it times out and you don't get anything. So not only are they not willing to work with you, if they mess up they will just say, "Oh well."

My mom and I went to Amara in Orem for Pedicures. The girl I was scheduled with barely spoke to me, didn't shape my toenails, and cut my skin multiple times. Luckily when she went to answer a personal phone call the other worker in the room was able to fix my toes. My mom noticed a smudge in her polish and finally spoke up. The girl then responded " yeah, that was bugging me too" as we we were almost walking out the door. We scheduled the Amara Signature Pedicure, but didn't receive the full service. I was VERY disappointed in my service here.

I went there once to get my hair washed and styled. I had this girl named Alex and I thought she was supposed to be one of their best stylists. I only wanted a blow dry and it straightened. One of the simplest things right? Especially from one of their "top" stylists. I left with my hair still curly, frizzy and still slightly wet. She also seemed kind of stuck up. To this day, I'm still mad I paid for that and on top of that, I tipped her. Totally regret it. Wasn't worth it. I would never, ever go back.

I’ve gotten my nails done here a few times and end up disappointed every time. I got the best mani/pedi of my life at a lower end salon in the valley and it was 1/3 of the price.

Very disappointed! I am getting married Saturday and came in for a pedicure last night with my good friend. Honestly this is the worse pedicure I have ever received. Not only did we both feel uncomfortable with the very nonsocial ladies who did them, my polish is applied bad and does not cover my entire nail on most of my toes and looks like only have of my toe was painted, I came home after and had to work on the bottom of my feet myself. Paying $100.00 for 2 basic pedicures is fine, but it would have been nice to get even a 1/2 basic pedicure for my wedding, my 5 year old daughter would have done a better job with the polish. As if weddings are not expensive enough, now I have to pay a 2nd time to have a good pedicure somewhere else. It's recently come to my attention that Amara is requiring their employees to pay for the product used when a customer comes in for a correction to their treatment. I'd recommend all employees leave because this is a sign that Amara isn't handling their finances well and/or they are not interested in treating their employees with the equity they deserve. Without their aestheticians, there is no spa and Amara is throwing their aestheticians to the wayside. On top of that, when a customer tips their level 1 aesthetician for a job well-done, Amara takes all the proceeds and does not redistribute them to the people who performed the task and satisfied their customer. If any of this is untrue, I'd invite Amara to come at me bro. Perhaps your experience at the spa was and is pleasant each time you go, but know that they are not interested in treating their employees well. Please prove me wrong, Amara.

What a frustrating disappointment! My one star was for the cheerful young staff, but unfortunately both my cut and highlights were poorly done. The highlights were especially disappointing, covering my head, rather than spaced, and were often warmish orange rather than creamy blond. Even worse, they recommended an expensive hair product that I tried once and it was ineffective and had an unpleasant smell. I brought it back immediately and they told me it was my problem. Even though it was a very expensive recommendation, rather than something I had selected. Such poor, short-sighted customer service! I would never recommend them.

I always enjoy my time at Amara Day Spa. I usually go there to see Carly Heinz, who cuts my hair. I have tried other salons in the valley, and no one cuts my hair as well or consistently as she does. The only con about Amara is that it is on the pricey side, so I'm not able to go as often as I would like.

I made an appointment with Amara to get a message and when I went in, they didn't have me in the schedule. I was very frustrated because I took time off work to go. Plus it's a 30 minutes drive for me. The girl helping me didn't do anything to help and sent me out the door. I called the manager, Cassidy, and she was very apologetic and helpful. I went back to get a massage a few weeks later and had the usual good experience. If you need a massage, go to Amara. It' s the best in Utah. Jessica was fabulous.

I'm extremely picky and I'm sure I'm a stylists nightmare but Carlie does an amazing job and I always walk out feeling glamorous. I visited this salon yesterday for a haircut. When I booked the appointment, I asked for a stylist who was familiar working with curly hair. I was assured that she was and when I arrived, I showed a picture of what I was wanting and stated that since my hair is curly (I was wearing it straight this day) to please take this in consideration when cutting since curly hair will appear a lot shorter if you cut it the same length as straight hair. She was very nice and pleasant while washing and massaging my hair and afterwards I showed exactly the length that I wanted but expressed again to not take off too much, to take in account the curliness. My hair ended up at least 4 inches shorter that I wanted and nothing like I was expecting. I hate to write negative reviews and only do so for an opportunity to express my feelings to promote an opportunity for improvement for a business. The salon and boutique are lovely and the never-ending diet coke is definitely an added bonus. But, please please please, LISTEN to your clientele. I felt like I was very specific in what I wanted and she agreed that it was a look that could be achieved. I expressed several times to consider my curly hair, which is unique in itself in working with, and it seemed as though she just did the cut the way she wanted to. I don't think she even asked if I was pleased with the final results at the end, which I was really displeased with. It seems that this could have all been avoided if more consideration of what I wanted (and paying for) was given more attention.

Love this place. I go fairly regularly for lash tints and have gotten my hair cut twice. I love walking in and feeling welcomed and handed a drink. Everyone is so nice. I even brought my mom for a lash & brow tint and she left feeling like she'd made a new best friend in her stylist. I like that they have tons of information on their website, including up-front pricing, description of services, and a list of employees. I've never had a problem getting an appointment, even on short notice. My second lash tint (about two years ago) at Amara didn't turn out well, but since then I've never had a bad experience. My only real complaint is every time I go I seem to get the girl who's just about to move or quit for school, so I've never seen the same person twice. I highly recommend giving this place a try.

I spent several hundred dollars on a spa package for my wife for mother's day. I bought the package hoping that my wife would have a relaxing day at the spa and leave feeling more confident and beautiful. Instead the experience left her feeling sad and not confident about herself due to extremely hurtful things being said by some staff during the experience. I personally will not spend any more money at Amara and would recommend that any husbands wanting to let their wives have a great experience to go elsewhere.

This place is EASILY the BEST Salon and Day Spa in Utah County if not in Utah altogether. The customer service is incredible, they are always so helpful. Most of the cutest stuff in my wife's wardrobe has come from the Amara boutique. They always have merchandise that my wife loves. Since I am a guy, I never really know what to get her, and the girls at Amara are so helpful. I love their massages, their nose waxwings, my wife loves their facials, they are great for hair, nails, make-up, all of it. Going to Amara is an experience, and it is an experience you will enjoy every second of!!

She didn't sell me the most expensive, but worked to blend a little bit of color into my natural color. Not going anywhere else from now on. I'm no hater but this place just didn't work out for me. I have thick, curly hair, frizzy as ***. Spent about $300 (and my whole budget for hair & beauty for my wedding) for a Brazilian blowout + Brazilian blowout shampoo and conditioner because the reviews were so amazing. and spent about 5 hours there and my hair was just as curly and frizzy by the next day. Called in to see about any kind of compensation. And they were pretty uncooperative and unwilling to listen. I'm just sad I didn't spend the money on something else. My hair stylist was really nice tho.

Worst salon experience ever! I had Tasha. Went in for a balayage hairstyle, was there for 4 HOURS and left with LITERALLY THE EXACT SAME hair color I walked in with. Even after complaining, nothing was done about it. $110 for nothing! They kept trying to blame it on me having dyed my hair which was well over 2 years ago and clearly back to my natural color! Maybe they should invest a little more in their product and less on the lobby's soda machine. On top of that, the blow drying process was painful with the amount of hair she kept tugging! If you know you can't do a hairstyle, don't waste someone's time or money. I'm convinced they use cheap product so they can con you into scheduling another appointment with them. Wouldn't recommend this place, and definitely won't be coming back.

I wanted to leave a review a while back when this actually happened but i didn't have the guts to share the experience I had working here until now. I worked for this company for a little over two months and it was the worst experience in a work place I have ever had! I accepted a job at Amara for customer service, they low balled me $4 less an hour than I was currently making but promised in a few months that I would become a manager and get bumped back up $3-$4/hr. I accepted knowing I had the potential to move up, but once I started I realized how wrong I was. This company hired me for a Full Time position but would NOT offer me any kind of health benefits... The manager I had treated me like I was dirt, my training was a max of two days and after that they expected me to know how to run the systems. They told me anything charged wrong, the missing money would come out of my own check. I was scheduled 10+ hour shifts, couldn't get days off even when requested two weeks in advance. I was so badly treated by my manager that when I finally went in to give my two weeks to the owner of the company, all I got in return was a sorry... I worked my butt off for this company the short time I was there, I'm leaving this review because if you are considering to work for this place you should know that you might be better off working elsewhere unless you are going to be a hairstylist and even then you might not be treated well. The only thing good about working here was the free services you get, but the employees doing them know you are getting them for free and never do a good job... so i guess it wasn't good. Do Not Work For This Company.

My first appointment here was terrible, the girl who cut my hair had no idea what she was doing and it was completely uneven. 1 inch at least shorter on my right side than my left. I decided to give them another opportunity to fix it, not only did they charge me to fix it the girl who did it this time did just as bad of a job. Ended up going to ellabloom to have it fixed.

Helen helped me get botox and was so sweet and great to work with. I didn't feel rushed at all, and I didn't feel like she was trying to push product, or up-sale me. I got a Brazilian wax and they ripped my skin. One of the girls was learning and one was supervising. They said some of my hairs were too short and they kept waxing the same spots over and over. I got married and left for my honeymoon two days later and found a cut about an inch and a half long on one side. It stung pretty bad and we weren’t able to do anything for the first 4 days of our honeymoon which really sucked. What bothers me the most is that the girls who did the wax had to have seen a giant cut and didn’t say anything. I had spots of blood on my underwear when I got home but thought it was light spotting from just finishing my period a couple days before. I will tell everyone I know to not go there for a Brazilian wax. I’m still so upset and I feel like my honeymoon was ruined.

Great costumer service while you're there. However of you have a problem with any thing purchased previously in the store it's more difficult to receive help. Spa services are good and if you're looking for trendy this is the place to come. They sell some of my favorite skin care items here and have a wide selection of jewelry and stance socks. Look for their events to get great deals.

Three words: Treat Yo Self! This place is a little slice of heaven for anyone looking for some pampering and rejuvenation. Leigh who owns it has thought of everything from shopping at their adorable boutique, to hair, nails, massage, spray tan, Botox, cool sculpting and so much more. Everyone especially Leigh treated me like gold. She greeted me with a hug and I walked out feeling so genuinely cared for. I went to get cool sculpting done which I was nervous and hesitant about, and they made the procedure so wonderfully easy for me. I am so excited for my results. I would highly recommend coming to this spa for any of their services. You can tell Leigh is passionate about what she does and only wants to provide the best treatment possible to her clients. I have been here twice to get my nails done, both times I had very sweet girls helping me but they were under experienced for the pricing a higher end salon charges. I think it is unprofessional that this salon is using girls with very limited nails experience to do these jobs, it's unfair to their employees to have them cross work in areas they are unfamiliar in and it is unfair to the customers that they pay so much for so little skill. After spending nearly $300 with tip for the services I brought it up to the front desk girl asking if I could speak to a manager. After reviewing the situation they agreed to give me a $20 gift card. I feel they should have a more experienced staff for the services they provide and charge for.

i actually feel like i’m being generous by giving three stars. i got a full set of lashes and paid $150 a week ago. i did not like them when i left and i was noticibly upset. the manager offered for me to come back the next day and have more lashes out on by a different lash artist and they looked a lot better. it is now a week later and almost all of the lashes are gone. i did not get my lashes wet for over 48 hours. there is no reason why my lashes should look like this after just over a week. it looks like i got them done three weeks ago.

The salon itself it fine and I had a great pedicure I paid $80 for...however the shelac chipped 4 days later and when I finally called to see if they could repair it for free, they told me that since it had been 9 days since my appointment instead of 7 there was nothing they could do for me. Crazy that they would save themselves 5 min and probably less than $5 to repair the chip, they would lose a customer. They are one of the more expensive places in town, for $80 they should have helped me out. I'll go to another salon next time.

I recently made an appointment at Amara to get my haircut. I had a one length bob that went at least two inches below my chin, and I wanted to get it shaped to a more rounded, graduated bob. I went in and showed the stylist pictures of how I wanted my hair to look. She looked at them and asked a few questions and then washed and started to cut me hair. At first, my hair seemed fine, she cut the length and I was digging it, however when she started to cut the layers, I could tell she was being completely sloppy. As a hair stylist myself, I started to feel uneasy as I saw that she was grabbing uneven chunks and just cutting away. The end result looked okay, I just felt that something was odd with it. I got home to find she had completely cut into the length of the hair, it was really choppy uneven, and I had holes in my hair on both sides under my ears and below my cheeks, and my front piece was cut at a blunt angle and two inches shorter that the rest of my hair. I felt my heart sink and I just started to cry, I was mortified! It looked horrible, so I went back and showed them the error, and they were able to arrange someone else to fix it for me, and she did such an amazing job, I am forever grateful for her! They said they’d give me my money back, but what they really meant was that you wouldn’t get a refund, it would instead cover the cost to fix your hair. So I’m out $45 (that’s not including tip). Over all, Amara is not worth the price for haircuts. It is way too expensive, and frankly I’ve gotten better haircuts at Fantastic Sams. The atmosphere was snobby, I got weird looks because I came in wearing sweat pants (on a really cold day). I was not impressed at all, and I don’t think the salon is worth the hype at all. I feel like I could have done a better job if I cut my hair myself. Save your money and go elsewhere.

Prices are high and for some reason every time I go it gets more expensive for the same service? The first time I went I got a 10 minute massage when my hair was washed and the 2nd time she skipped it complete and pushed me out of the chair with damp hair. As a mom of 2 it's not reasonable

Hands down the best the best spa/salon I've been to in Utah. I've never been displeased with a service but more importantly every time I go I feel like I make a new friend out of one of the employees. They center their business around customer service which I value more than anything else. I love their product line in their boutique and feel like they are my Nordstrom replacement in Utah County now! Not to mention, I love a place that offers free Diet Coke and other drinks! :) All in all it is a lady's perfect little escape with great shopping, professional services, and very friendly company!

Gave me the worst hair cut in my life. I had random long pieces All Over. The hair color was horrible also for $150+ you would think they would get someone that knew what they were doing. I've gotten better hair cuts when I went to a hair school. But maybe it's cool to have big blotches of piss yellow hair color. I guess I didn't realize polka dot hair was in right now.

I love the Amara spa. Unfortunately, I have not been able to go there enough. I would love to be a regular with all the spa services, but look forward to gift certificates for that . I use to love this place because of a girl who use to work here. But the last time I went here, I showed the stylist a picture the color I wanted my hair and the hair cut I wanted for my wavy hair too. I don’t mind that i spent 2-3 hours here because I do have a lot of hair...but what I do mind is that after all that, my hair ended up almost exactly the same and the price was way too much for how I thought it would come out. I told the girl that “the color and cut wasn’t exactly how I wanted it” and she kinda just brushed it off and didn’t offer to change it another day, etc. This is why I think it deserves a 1 star or even less.

Do NOT go to Amara if you are expecting a good dye job. They claim to be a professional salon when all of their stylists are in their early twenties and do not know what they are doing. Spent over $200 to have my hair color look exactly the same as before. It was brown, I wanted blonde. Do not come here if you care about your hair.

I took my wife here for her birthday to get a pedicure. We were told the pedicure would be an hour, generally places let you soak and really treat and pamper you. After only 40 minutes they were done. When my wife got in the car she started to tear up. She said the girl was sweet, but everything was rushed. Her nails also had lots of bubbles and clumps that still weren’t dry a few hours later. I paid more money thinking it would be nicer than other places, but really only got half the service.
