This was not my first visit at this spa - I have been coming since I moved to the area in 2010. Normally I have great visits, but after today I will not be returning. I had an appointment today @ 4:00 for a massage. I arrived, changed into my robe, and sat a few minutes in the wait area. Usually they are pretty quick to take you back, but I felt like I had been waiting a long time. I sat there a little longer, thinking I was just off on my sense of time, and finally decided to go back to the locker room to check the time on my phone - it was almost 4:30! I went back to the front to ask the receptionist how much longer it would take. She rambled on about some confusion on the schedule, offered me a $10 discount because "she didn't know what else to do", and if I had time to wait I could still be seen in a little while. I agreed, but after continuing to sit there I changed my mind thinking it was not worth it, and got dressed. On my way out the receptionist handed me a $10 discount card, said she was sorry and that this never happens - she then blamed it on the girl being new. So which is it? The schedule conflict or the new girl? And obviously it does happen, because it just happened to me. A semi-sincere apology and $10 off your highly priced services are not going to cut it. I will be finding a new spa who values their clients and their clients' time.
*amendment* Assistant Manager called me today to apologize, and made things right. Thank you, it is greatly appreciated.
