I’ve been using Gould’s in Cordova for several months now. I had a one hour massage with Latoya, she was absolutely fabulous . Then I had a facial with Britney Pierce, it felt so good my face looked fabulous and I felt so rejuvenated . Both of these young ladies did a fabulous job and I’m always greeted as though I’m family. This next young lady is the absolute best hairstylist I have ever had. She will be the only one that ever touches my hair from this point forward. Sara Vogelsang is the bomb diggity. She is so good at what she does. I love everything she did with my hair she did exactly what I asked for. I will definitely be seeing Sara every 4 to 6 weeks. Guaranteed

It was bad. The worst massage ever. I was not asked what type of massage I wanted on the phone or on the way to to room. The "therapist" did not read the paper I filled out. She asked one question- what I didn't want massaged. I should have left then. She hurt, I asked if I was getting deep tissue massage. She said no she sometimes is heavy handed. She said she would go easier but did not. This was not the pleasant experience I had looked forward too. If I could rate this a minus I would.

We went in this evening for 515p and 530p nail polish change, checked in at 500p, sat there until 538p until someone walks past and asks if we are waiting in someone, we said we are swinging on toe nail polish change. A few minutes later the lady comes from the front desk and says “we don’t do toe nail polish changes .. hands only”.. I said the website didn’t specify and she said “I know”... my mother and I left. If you make an appointment near closing time ... expect a less than professional experience. I think they were just ready to leave .... But I feel like they should have spoken with us before we sat there 40 minutes ... not one person said a word to us for 40 minutes.. not even the nail tech stopped by to say she would be running late.

Been going here for years. Followed Micah wherever she workd after she 1st started. Shes very sweet,listens to your needs but also if she thinks another way doing your cut or color,she suggest something different,mostly for better. ..always happy with het decisions. Have people ask where got the cut,tell them micah goulds cordova. Its very hard to find to find your right haircut.

NOT maintaining their standard AT ALL! Reached a little late for my appointment, the front desk lady commented since ur 20min late we ll see how much can be done ,the service provider lady commented the same ! I said I dropped kids to school and rushed here,beside when I made appointment they didnt tell me to be here 15min earlier to start exact at 8! And the text I received didnt mention either .I showed her the text . Then she asked me my concerns for the skin ..I said I mentioned all the details in the form ,she replied I haven't seen that. WHAT!! You started applying creams without reading my concerns on the form!??? Then why you made me waste 10 more minutes writing and then waiting for you ,if you're not going to review it! She quickly completed the facial just applying and removing creams. Total waste of time !! Utter disappointment!

My wife Elizabeth Carter last week went to Gould’s Cordova for a mini spa day for her 35th birthday. First her 1 hr massage was awesome the massage therapist was very sweet and did amazing job. After that it just went downhill.. she went after that for her 30 min facial where she was greeted by the lady that was doing her and as soon as she walked into the room the aesthetician stopped her today telling her she wasn’t going to have the time to do her facial because her massage had ran 10 mins over but she guessed she could just do what she had time for or it could just be rescheduled which made her feel very uncomfortable like it was her fault she was running behind and not another word was spoken while the facial was done. Very unprofessional. She was not ever told that her manicure was pushed back so that the she could have the whole 30 min facial which put her in a bind because she had lunch plans with her friend who almost left where they where meeting because she was so late. The manicure went fine and she went to pay and left. The next day she received a phone call from the manager Jennifer saying that they had not received her payment which anyone who has been here knows there is like 10 people upfront and you’re not getting out without paying... so now she feels like they are accusing her of not paying so she gives them her debit card number over the phone as she was on the phone with the manager she told her about her experience and she was told that the massage therapist was talked to because she made it all run late when actually the massage was the only thing she enjoyed. So thank you Gould’s Cordova for making her 35th birthday one to remember. I will not be sending her back to this location.

Seeing how they want to delete the yelp link, here is my review for google. Iwould greatly like to state that this review is on one particular stylist and not the salon as a whole. I've had good services there before but this definitely takes the cake for the worst customer service I have ever experienced in my life. I was booked for a color correction with Jennifer. Here is what happened point by point. Messy station makeup everywhere dirty clippers Did not ask my consent for before and after photos (would like them deleted) Did not feel listened to or heard the entire time I felt like every time I said something she just became annoyed Did not have a plan for me through the process Repeatedly told a shadow root would be ugly/felt very condescending Decides to slice/highlight my hair without asking how I felt about highlights (I very much dislike highlights in my own hair) Shown swatches that were very very different while bleach was processing Was being extremely pushy and rushing me through. Literally told "I had to pick a color because we close in an hour and a half" was also told "I can do what I think is best but you have to be a part of this decision" (I was crying at this point) Kept checking her watch while applying color I have very poor vision and couldn't tell how chunky the highlights were until the color was being blown dry Came back to yell/argue with me at front desk about how there was a half hour consultation (there wasn't) that I should have know the color would process darker (the color wasn't my issue) and how I really should be paying 300 instead of 100. I was very distraught and crying and had to tell her twice I did not want to argue or have that conversation with her. I tried to argue the charge but the manager told me highlights and bleach were the same and that she has worked with the stylist and she would “never act that way” lol ya right. Basically told I was an unpleaseable client.

Money wasted here. I had a massage and a manicure. The massage was AMAZING! But the manicure was horrible and seemed very rushed. I got a shellac overlay and it only lasted a week! My 9 year old daughters basic mani pedi still looks great and it’s almost 3 weeks later. Never again would I return for those services

I have always been able to get a quality haircut and color at Goulds. This location is a spa also. You can have a massage, manicure, pedicure, eyebrows waxed, and other services. I always make an appointment for my haircut and usually the very Timely. But I have walked in to ask for a brow wax and been able to get the service I needed without an appointment. They work hard to be a tenant and maintain a nice and classy atmosphere.

I moved here almost a year and a half ago and needed to get my hair cut. I got it done in April of 2015; however the girl that cut my hair cut off 10 inches when I said I only wanted 2-3 inches cut off. She cut my hair dry which I wasn't happy about, and was on her cell phone the entire time. It was very uneven once done. I called to complain the next day, and went back in to get my hair fixed by someone different. She did an OK job with what she had to work with. I went back in December and wanted a wash, cut, and style. I went back 20 minutes after my scheduled appointment time, and I got another dry cut and she didn't do what I had asked even after spending time explaining what I wanted and showing her pictures of past hair cuts that I got and was happy with. A lot of money and time wasted on this place. I will never go back here again.

This particular location gives a good service to their costumers, however most of the staff members can smile but they're not welcoming at all, if you're not a regular client they treat you as not worthy of their time and effort. Lady that did my manicure complaint out loud all the time about her co-worker next to us(which act very professional not reacting to her passive aggresive comments)for getting one of her regular clients, she was so upset that she stopped my manicure and walked over the office stating that she needed to "fix it" it was very unprofessional and rude, she made all of us very uncomfortable, i wish they could understand that treatment is the first thing that makes you come back for their services.

BEWARE: I have never been to a salon where you make an appointment with someone and when you arrive, your not told that person is overbooked and then you are handed off to someone else without a conversation. I was desperate enough to stay, and while my hair turned out ok.. I am not ok with this practice. This is strike two (2) against Goulds and you won't get a third chance. Very disappointed in the communication, service and overall practices of this salon.

I cannot recommend Alex enough. She does both my and my 8 year old daughter's hair. We both get compliments on our hair all of the time. She is great with my little one, makes her comfortable, and my daughter loves her "big girl" hair. I decided to go short with my hair, and Alex spent a ton of time talking with me about what look I was going for, but was also very honest about what certain styles would require and whether they would work for my hair type. For the first time since moving to the area from out of town about 10 years ago, I can say that I am really happy with my hair.

My daughters bought a Spa Day gift certificate for me for Mother's Day worth $140. I was scheduled to get a massage, full mani/pedi, and lunch. I called the day before to tell the staff that I currently had shellac polish on my nails. I asked if I needed to get it removed before coming in for my spa day. The receptionist told me the shellac could be removed during my appointment and that she would notify the staff. The massage was no less than AWESOME! The lunch from Humdinger was HEAVENLY! However, the mani/pedi was HORRIBLE! The lady did not have the supplies to remove the shellac and ended up scraping it off. After spending about 45 minutes removing the shellac, she told me that I'd have to get a "mini-pedi". She'd forgotten to use the scrub on my hands and my finger and toe nails looked as if my 9 year old had polished them. I got to the counter to check out and was charged an additional $10. I've only had good experiences with massages at Gould's but I will never get a mani/pedi here and would not recommend this service to anyone!

Went yesterday to Goulds, Cordova after a year.I wanted to get a massage so a friend of mine and I decided to book Goulds.Good check in but the masseuse must have been new because it had to be the worst massage I have ever received.It seemed like she was afraid to apply any pressure at all. First the music was blaring in the room, I asked her to please turn it down, she replied "some days it blares and some you hardly hear it" she continued the massage. Five minutes in I had to stop her and again ask for the music to be turned down. She finally went to the desk and turned down the music.Well you would think it was good after that, but not a chance. She never asked if I wanted any kind of aroma in the room, she was asked to use a little more pressure but didn't. After an hour I could not wait to get out of there. I came out more stressed than when I had gone in. This is not worth the money and I would not recommend it . My 7 year old could have done a better job.

The only thing I would like to see different would be a little shoulder and arm massage while the process is taking place. I would like to see that with any facial. I had a skin care specialist that would do that but she is too far away now.

My daughter went to Jennifer for a balayage today - really for a touch up balayage- and did not receive one. I dropped off my daughter, she had the picture she wanted as the balayage and I thought all was good. However, Jennifer discussed with her and recommended just coloring the roots. So that darkened her hair alot and to me it looks dull and gothic- didn't brighten up her hair which I think she needed. When I picked up my daughter, she said she was fine with it but was darker than she wanted but it would "do". She said Jennifer was very blunt and not too friendly with her- my daughter was a new client for Jennifer- and she did not want to go back to see her to see if we could get it a little lighter. So I am very unhappy and sad because my daughter goes off to college next week with a hair color she is just "ok" with, especially since I could have done the hair color for $5 on my own instead of $130 or whatever the cost was minus the haircut. I never write reviews but I just had to on this one. I picked Jennifer because of all the good reviews she had but I am very disappointed.

I had my hair colored and cut twice in this place, May and December of this year. The services cost $120 and $95, respectively. In May, I had my black hair colored to a wine color mixed with brown. The stylist brought out a color book, suggested a modified red color and explained to me. I was happy with the color but not with the haircut. The first haircut was not great and costed $50. I switched a stylist for the recent appointment and it turned out to be worse. The color used in the second visit was more brown than red and only the base hair (black part) was colored. After a shower, there is a subtle color transition from more brown at the bottom half to more red of the other half. The colors do not appear to match well. My second stylist decided the color on her own. While I waited for her to get the color book, she already prepared the wax without telling me what colors were put in. The second haircut was disappointing as well. I clearly said I wanted layers. It appeared that my stylist (the second one) did not understand what layer cut meant. She could not do it. I don't feel her haircut skills are any better that my boyfriend's barbers. He usually pays $20-$30 for a haircut and I paid $50 for the same quality service. Overbooking. My first appointment was unfortunately during the high school graduation time. Lots of students needed prom hairs and this place was very much overbooked. I waited 45 minutes for my appointment (I almost left) and most customers of that day waited a long time . In between I also had to wait extra 20-30 minutes here and there because my stylist was doing three persons' hair at the same time. The first appointment last more than three hours (ridiculous) but the hair service time was an hour and half at most. My stylist mentioned that she was exhausted. In between, no one suggested a rain check or checked on customers who has waited a while. I understood the demands during that busy season, but how they managed the situation was disrespectful to my time, inconsiderate to customers and selfish. I strongly feel profit is Gould's first priority. The reasons I gave two stars to this place are: 1) the first stylist was good at coloring, 2) Gould's has many color options and my hair smelled good afterward and 3) environment is good. In terms of service, it does not worth the price.

I'm tempted to believe Gould's gives hiring preference to hateful, aggressive girls. I've had five different employees scream-at or outright insult me. On one occasion, a receptionist angrily demanded I pay up-front so she could leave early. That same evening a hair stylist repeatedly insulted me as I received my standard haircut because she, too, wanted to leave early. My regular stylist had a decent attitude, but frequently complained about Gould's insistence for quantity over quality. Please spare yourself from overpriced services and repulsive personnel.
