I had my wedding in Chattanooga from way out of state and Claire took me on to do my hair the day before the wedding and the day of the wedding. She did an amazing job! I went with a 40's style on my long, curly, frizzy, challenging hair and she made it absolutely perfect. Claire is awesome! The whole staff was so sweet and considerate! Thank you being a part of my wedding day!

I booked the His and Hers Valentine Hand and Foot Treatments for me and my husband. I added on the hot stone massage for my husband. These treatments were all supposed to have the chocolate themed services. All of the treatments were regular. Apparently there was something missed after the booking process. However, Mark was exceptional on my hand and foot treatments. I will ask for him in the future. Whatever went wrong is no reflection on him. He was great!!

Experiences was great! However I do have some suggestions. 1. Offer water bottles, instead of a cup its tastes better. 2. Offer some sweets while in the waiting area. 3. Restrooms lockers should have a lock for safety. 4. More aromatherapy..... Other than those minor suggestions, everything else was great.

Had a body scrub and a spray tan ,,,, loved it all. Felt very comfortable with Wendy, she did an awesome job and and will definitely ask for her again. Tan is getting darker and it's only 3 hrs old... Can't wait until tomorrow! Yea for me!!

I paid for a couples massage. The massage was sub par, the therapist paid little attention to my areas of concern. My partner shared my sentiments. The two star rating was due to poor customer service received by the front desk personnel. I called ahead of time to ensure my appointment and add the “indulgence package” which Nick told me included strawberries, champagne, and candles (as per the site). I mainly cared about the strawberries and champagne, as this was a treat for Valentine’s Day. When I arrived the strawberries and champagne were not ready, so we had to enjoy them afterward, which wasn’t a big deal until they were actually presented to us; two poorly dipped strawberries, half stuck to the plate. Hardly something I would have paid for if I knew that’s what I would be receiving — only to find out at the front desk check out that they were complimentary. Talitha was very clear and very rude about this fact. Apparently Nick was wrong and the “indulgence package” only included two small, barely “scented” candles used during the massage. I could have done without, and would have if I had known. I wish I could have gotten the correct information before booking, and I wish Talitha kept her nasty, condescending attitude to herself. This turned what otherwise would have been a decent trip to a rather unpleasant, regrettable experience. Not worth the money.

The massage I received today was wonderful. I told her the spots in my neck that were giving me trouble and she worked till she found the cause witch was actually in my shoulder blade. Brittany did a very good job picking the color for my hair and adding the accent color. I love the results. My only complaint is that there were color stains around my face on the skin. Other salons I have been to will always use some cleansing agent to remove them.

This was my first visit to A Better You, and it was wonderful. I recently moved to Chattanooga and have only gotten my hair cut once, at HBI International. Everyone there was rude, so I was happy to find a new salon. Everyone that worked there was wonderful, I was almost 30 minutes late due to construction, and they were very understanding. Claire cut and styled my hair, and she really knows what she is talking about (I would call her more of a hair scientist). Wonderful experience, will become my salon. As far as the bikini waxing goes, the specialist I had was nothing short of amazing. She made me feel relaxed, and kept the process quick and relatively painless. In addition, she allowed me time to ask questions and her answers were extremely informative. I would definitely see her again! On another note, the front desk staff were extremely nice and very professional.

A relatively decent lotion application and light rub down, but not a therapeutic massage that I was expecting. I asked for a medium to deep massage focusing on lower back. It was relaxing, but not what I would consider a massage. Very friendly and professional staff. Wonderful ambience, and a comfortable environment. Just not what I had asked for or expected.

She makes sure your hair always looks amazing. Our family and friends are always very impressed with our new hair! We wouldn't go anywhere that Lori wasn't. I recently moved to the area and was thrilled to finally receive a recommendation for a salon and hair stylist. Upon booking the appointment I was asked for a credit card number "just in case" I decided to cancel last minute. Since I had never been inside the business prior, I explained that I didn't feel comfortable giving my credit card information just to hold an appointment time. I also explained that I dealt w/ a case of identity theft within the last year, so I'm a little more apprehensive about these things now than I used to be. The rep on the phone just said, "well, sorry. We can't book an appointment without a card on file." I was incredibly put off with the lack of basic customer service skills, as well as the complete disinterest she had for finding a solution. Sigh. It's too bad, I was with my last stylist for 12 years and had regular appointments every 4 weeks like clockwork... I never had to leave a card on file and I was always on time to my appointment because I valued her time tremendously. If she was running a little behind schedule, I'd pick up a light lunch or coffee so she could get through her afternoon. I don't think A Better You is used to that kind of clientele.

I had a couples massage with my husband. Therapists- although both therapists gave a good massage, both of their hands were rough. It felt more like an exfoliation massage. Their demeanor meeting us and bringing us in the room was more silly. They were laughing. Would have rather had a therapist that prompted calm relaxation. Waiting area- it was comfortable but did not promote relaxation before making it to the room because of the number of people in the room and therapists moving in and out of rooms cleaning. Overall I would say a good massage.

Wendy was my massage therapist and from the beginning she made me feel as though the experience was all about me. She told me to dress or undress to my comfort level and insured me that should I choose to leave on certain articles of clothing she would be more than happy to work around it. I have had good experiences with this place, but not stellar. It is always clean, prices are reasonable, and they are open in the evenings. However, when I got my underarms waxed, they left few hairs in place. When I got my hair cut, the stylist did not pick a reasonable style for me and I left with messy hair. When I got a pedicure, they didn't do all of the techniques listed in the description and the woman seemed really rushed. Again, not terrible, but I have a hard time recommending the place to friends who are pickier about their salon experiences.

I've been having lower back pains and seeking chiropractic help. Mandy normally can help me get through this type of pain, but I waited to late to get in to see her. I took an appointment with Wendy, though my preference is ALWAYS Mandy. I was so thankful that she took the time to understand my pain and explain what she could do to relieve this pain. I have been having a lot of neck tension and pain related to an injury. My massage helped today to relieve some of that tension. I picked the fire and ice massage hoping that the heat and cool would contribute to relieving the pain and it did just that. I really enjoyed it and will make it a point to treat myself more often in order to help ease my pain.

I recently had a 90-minute deep tissue massage with John. My hobbies can be pretty strenuous on my back and legs, and specifically worked out the tightness in those areas. It was definitely a custom procedure, which targeted specific areas by body needed. He was very professional, courteous, and thorough. I had the best night sleep I have had all year thanks to him!! I highly recommend Kelly, she is fantastic. Having gone to dozens of massage therapist in my life I can say that she really understands and cares about what she is doing. This is the second time I've gone to her for a massage. She is great with hot stones, almost feel asleep during the last 90 minute session. The Spa itself has a very welcoming knowledgeable staff. The inside waiting room is so tranquil, perfect way to start you relaxing session.

I have hesitated for years about getting a massage thinking it would awkward and uncomfortable. I got to the point that I was in constant pain and the chiropractor I was seeing twice a week wasn't making any progress because my muscles were so tight the adjustments weren't lasting. During my short wait for the aesthetician, I noticed how calm and soothing the atmosphere is at A Better You. Slightly dark, cool, smells clean and just calming! The sweet girl at check in was so polite and helpful and made me feel right at home. The facial with Kathy was my second in one month! She is so awesome! It's like not only having a facial but a mini massage as well! I am not one who prefers to chat during any type of spa session, and Kathy allowed me that silence so I could just soak up all that wonderful treatment! I have already scheduled another facial at the end of this month!

Completely lacks the professionalism that a business should adhere too when hiring employees. What sort of company texts a potential employee about coming in the next day, just to send them away because they called th wrong person?. Such a mishandling of personal information, i have to imagine they also mishandle their customers information. Becca at the front desk showed zero remorse and should be fired for incompetence. This goes against all BBB practices.

Having never been to a spa before, I was pleasantly surprised. It was very calming from the moment I walked in the door. I was offered a choice of beverage, shown to a very relaxing waiting area, waited just a few moments and was taken around to a room for my microdermabrasion. The room was cozy and very clean. I was told what to do and to lie down. I did and covered up and it was so relaxing. The procedure was soothing, the different items applied to my face were wonderful smelling, Debby was so knowledgeable about the products and very engaging. She made me feel at ease. She massaged my arms which was heavenly. It was so wonderful. When the service was over I made a follow-up appointment with Debbie as I enjoyed it so much!

I always enjoy my relaxing time at A Better You. I generally visit on Sunday to help prepare myself for another week at work. It is a treat I give to myself. I had my eyebrows waxed by Lori. She was very rough. When I told her she was hurting me, she did not apologize, nor did she alter her technique. She also spilled wax all over my shirt and didn't apologize for that either, or offer to clean it. Having a service performed such as this makes one feel vulnerable enough. Being physically harmed and treated with disrespect is unacceptable. I'd suggest Lori improve her tactless attitude.

I've received massages at a lot of places around town and I would be remiss if I didn't suggest creating more of a relaxing ambiance for the massage experience. Other spas include lavender candles burning and warm pillows whenever I flip on my back and am lying face-up. When I walked in the room to change clothes the fluorescent lights were turned on and it didn't create the most relaxing atmosphere. Those are small things but it all adds up to create the total experience. That said, the massage itself was still wonderful!

The only constructive feedback would be that she didn't ask me before she started what areas I wanted her to focus on. She also didn't ask if she was pushing too hard. I had a massage with Morgan yesterday. It was such a wonderful experience. She was very thorough with the consultation and assured me my areas of concern would be well taken care of. She recommended me some reflexology as well as more regular massages as I have some spots that need just an extra boost. The salon atmosphere is overall relaxing. You walk in and it is clean, relaxing sounds are being played throughout the spa. You are greeted at a front desk, checked in, and shown to a very comfortable waiting area. There's a door to the left side of the waiting area that isn't exactly visible, so it caught me off guard when my massage therapist came out. The rooms are small and cozy, and the nicest touch was after the massage was over, Morgan gave me a small slip of paper with a recommended return time, suggestions for the day (drink water, soak in Epsom salts, etc), and she haded me some delicious orange infused water. Also worth noting is that you get a gorgeous discount for booking another appointment with them within 4 weeks and paying cash that day. I would definitely recommend this place, and I will for sure be back!

Seems like every time i get a facial it is rushed. My first vist the lady forgot to wrap towels around my feet & my second visit the lady was running 10 minutes late & had the audacity to tell me we would not have time for certain things but I still got charged full price for an illumiating facial that only lasted 40 min AND it wasnt even done correctly she skipped parts in order to be done by 12pm. My session lasted from 11:15am to 11:56.....i got charged for the entire hour anyways. I’ve been trying to reach a manager but have not been able to get a response yet. I am upset because i feel like i wasted money.

Let me start by saying that Lori was great and I had absolutely no problem with my treatment. However, when I went to use my gift card, they said it was already redeemed. The girl at the counter got on the phone with her supervisor and said something about them changing systems so that right there was already a red flag for me. I was then forced to pay cash for my services since my gift card was declined (I wouldn't have even come to this place had I not had a gift card...). I understood and paid on the spot, just ready to get out of there at this point, and she told me they would contact me on Monday to get the situation worked out and they could refund me if they figured out what happened.. SO Monday rolls around and my neighbor, who purchased the gift card for me, calls them and she is told that the gift card had already been redeemed for a body glow treatment ON MY NEIGHBOR on April 3, 2016. Two things wrong with this: I have had the gift card in my possession since Christmas of 2015, and my neighbor was IN LABOR on April 3, 2016. Something is very wrong on their end, and I'm beyond frustrated that I was not compensated in any way. Most companies would fix just fix it since it wasn't an extremely expensive treatment anyways. My treatment was fine, their management sucks.

They spoke with the manager afterwards and they stood behind what they did...... good to know. Avoid this place! I booked a massage very last minute and was happy to be accomadated with exactly what I was hoping for. Everyone I interacted with was very pleasant including Malcom, who was the masseur. The massage I got was absolutely wonderful and my shoulders feel better than they have in months. I’ve been to multiple spas in the Chattanooga area and one thing I always hate is being upsold on every last product. You get none of that here which was awesome. No begging you to become a monthly member, no pitches on why you should spend $10 more on a foot scrub - just go in and have the experience you booked. It was great!

Tried using their website to purchase a gift card. Website was not working properly so upon a deadline, I had to select another birthday gift option. Never received an e-mail or any confirmation that a gift card was purchased. Reviewing my credit card statement another month later showed the transaction had been charged to my account. No gift card received and no confirmation; however a charge to my credit card without authorization. Upon two attempts they will not refund or reverse the charge. Upon investigation they could not locate the gift card initially and admitted they could find NO e-mail sent to me confirming my order. I will now file a dispute with the credit card company refusing to pay for services NOT received or purchased. Absolutely unacceptable way to conduct business and fraudulent! Buyer beware!

I had an hour massage with Nicole. Nicole was very friendly and professional. She only spoke when it was necessary to check on something with me. Otherwise she respected my desire to relax and not talk during my massage. The atmosphere was wonderfully soothing - with piano music and the sound of running water. The room was spotless and comfortable. Nicole gave a fabulous massage - wish I could have stayed another hour or could go everyday. I look forward to returning soon. Also the staff at the reception desk were very friendly and helpful. The reception area was also decorated quite nicely and was clean and relaxing too while I waited for my appointment. By the way, my appointment started exactly on time - no long waits as is sometimes the case with other spas.

Called "A better You Day Spa," spoke with Megan behind the front desk and could not have been happier with her help. She was able to fit in both myself and my brother into the schedule on a Saturday the day of his wedding. She also had the wherewithal to provide me with an amazing massage therapist Morgan! Morgan was fantastic, so fantastic that after I droped my brother at the wedding rehersal I came back for another hour. I could not get enough. Honestly I was very disappointed with my services at this spa. We were there for manicures and express pedicures, and I am very unhappy with the result. First of all, the temperature in the spa was incredibly warm, when it was already warm outside that day. Next, I was there with a group for a mini spa day, and the appointments were not planned well. There were six people there for just manicures and pedicures, and it took 5 hours for everyone to finish when there were 4 people working on us. This in my mind is just poor planning/coordinating. Lastly, I understand that fingernail polish comes off quickly, but my toe polish started coming off the same day (and it dried for 2 hours at the spa). All in all, for the price of the services at this spa, it's definitely not worth it.

This was my first massage. I really liked the spa but I didn't feel like my masseuse took the time to read my forms explaining my medical history and massage preferences. The pressure was often too deep but I didn't realize until I talked to my daughter afterwards that I should have communicated this to the masseuse. Malcolm was very professional and did a great job at relieving some of my tension spots. He was very precise and knew what he was doing. One thing I would recommend for the therapists is to offer some stretches to the customers' legs and stretch out hamstrings if that is bothering them. Overall though my deep tissue massage was great.

I was greeted promptly upon arrival and offered a beverage. I noticed the flooring at the reception area was soft. The spa was quiet, lighting was soothing. Kathy was my masseuse. She took into consideration all of my physical issues and provided the appropriate massage therapy for me. I can say this morning my neck, and shoulders feel amazing. She was great. I was amused while waiting, another client (female ) asked if she "had to be draped". I realized she wanted to be nude...she was asked to step out of. The waiting area, I suppose the receptionit explained perhaps a drape was mandatory. Ummm. Anyway. I intend to return for another massage soon. Thank you all.

Have to give 1 star for poor service and communication. I purchased a $125 gift card for my wife's birthday gift, even asking for advice on an amount including how much tip to include. I decided upon $125 to cover a $105 90-minute massage plus $20 tip. My wife was able to schedule today, but could only do 60 minutes...but no problem as the remainder doesn't expire until 2022. Luckily, the 45-50 minute massage was good...yes, that's correct, 45-50 minutes, not 60 minutes...as apparently time sitting in the room waiting counts towards your massage time. My wife was only told by reception "hmm, that's strange", when the time was questioned. Then the kicker: she was not allowed to use the gift card for the tip! I covered this explicitly when I purchased the gift card so my wife would not have to pay anything during this visit, and even mentioned it again during a call earlier today, but it didn't happen that way. So, she paid a tip with cash and then tried to use up the gift card balance on items for sale in the shop. She was then told she couldn't use the gift card for the merchandise there...until the person made a phone call to someone and then advised the gift card remainder could be used. So, to end my long rant...thanks for making a birthday gift of relaxation a stressful and unsatisfying experience. Hopefully, this was a rare situation and does not occur often, but we will not return and cannot recommend your spa.
