great place - welcomed as soon as I was in the door by one of the young ladies and had a cup of coffee as quick as a flash - good joe. I'm 50ish-wanted something professional for work but still attractive - Roxanne did a great job with my color - caramel and red - beautiful - Roxanne very nice, personable, and what I liked is she didn't keep conversation going when I was quiet.... love all the girls there - would recommend to everyone including best friends.

I had my hair styled here for my wedding along with two of my bridesmaids. Everybody was very happy with their stylist and mine was especially awesome! Stormy did everything I wanted and was so great to chat with. I felt very comfortable the day of my wedding, even when I asked to make some last-minute changes. I could not have made a better choice. I will be coming back whenever I'm in town again!

I was able to call and get a same day appt. for a massage 9/4. Bridget, my therapist was excellent. She was knowledgeable and suggested a slight change to work on the real trouble spots. It was fantastic. I felt so good after my appt. If I'm ever back in the area, I definitely be back. Salon atmosphere was pleasant, clean and didn't smell of hair chemicals. Staff took prompt and excellent care of me.

Dawn cut and styled my hair 1/22/19. 5 stars does not do her justice on the excellant job she did. I was very nervous as I hadnt had a hair cut in 2 years she provided excellent service and made me feel welcome, and part of the family, despite the fact I spilled coffee all over her work station. I called two months ago to schedule an appointment and was told that I would receive a call when my stylist came back from maternity leave which was no issue because Roxanne is amazing. I then called again and asked if my stylist had returned and was told that she had however she was booked for a month out and first available appointment was 1 month from now. What is the point of telling a customer you will call them with availability when you don't? I leave the country in a week and put faith in a salon who doesn't care about its customers.

The atmosphere is fun and grounded. Everyone seems to work well together and like each other (some salons can give a catty vibe). Jade gave a fabulous scalp massage during my shampoo. She listened to what I wanted and gave me a great hair cut. I walked out of the salon feeling great!! I'll be back for sure!

First time going there and last, unfortunately. Went in for a trim, layers, and a bang trim. My bangs turned out fine but too short since she did it in one sweep, maybe one inch of layers only in the front that were clearly uneven. When I got home I had 80% of my dead ends still there.. the lady who was doing my hair rushed through the cut because she was asked to do a wash in less than an hour and agreed, even though my hair was not done. She cut my hair maybe 15 minutes and blow dried my hair probably for 40 minutes. I feel like she damaged my hair more than made it look good. Not going there again and I don't recommend it. Not worth 38$ by any means.

When I first moved to Rapid City I of course was looking for a new hair stylist. The Wicked Salon & Spa stood out to me because of how fashion forward and "big city" it felt. I have been to multiple stylists there and all have been extremely professional and always treat me and my hair as their first priority! They are a Paul Mitchell Focus Salon and I have fallen in love with all of my Paul Mitchell products and the staff! I always do a color and a cut for my appointments and they have continued to give me fun and fresh looks . . . they aren't scared of change and I always feel I am getting what I paid for! Did I mention they were a full spa as well? I also get my eyebrows waxed there and have had no complaints! I guess they can do no wrong in my book and I am excited to try more services in their fun, boutique style salon! I am so happy I found them and I make sure to tell all of my friends!

I've had my hair cut and colored here several times and had it styled for a wedding. All appointments have been great and I highly recommend this salon! I have had my hair cut by Brooke and her styles are always up-to-date and innovative! I also have had my hair styled for a wedding and colored by Desiree and she also does an amazing job! I go to school out of state but always wait to get my hair done when I come back to SD for breaks so I can get my services at AJ's Wicked salon. The prices are reasonable for the quality of services you receive. I've recommended AJ's to several friends and they all have been just as pleased with their quality of services!

Had my haircut hair last week(first time customer wanting a new style). I have to say that the stylist(Stormy) was very professional and passionate about her line of work. A woman(regular customer) and I entered the salon at the same time. In most cases, the time spent on a woman's hair is greater due to (perms, treatments, etc.) It actually took longer in my case because not 1, but 3!! beauticians took the time to evaluate 1) what would look good for my hair type and color... 2)What products to use for my hair... 3)The actual haircut took 40 min. because of attention to detail to the last strand! All customers are getting a unique and customized cut suited to fit their personal standards and also make them shine in public.

My son went in the day before prom to his normal stylist who had rescheduled his appt. due to her error. She rushed it in 20 minutes, butchered it and charged him $36. It looked like a 3 year old cut his bangs. If I was the owner I would be ashamed at the quality and treatment he received. Will be finding another stylist.

Wicked has the best energy and friendliest atmosphere of any salon I've walked into. I'm always greeted with a smile, and usually by name even after only one appointment. Someone always offers me a beverage, and Brooke (who does my hair) is very timely with keeping her appointments. The salon itself is immaculately clean, there is never a gross pile of hair left unswept or dirty towels lurking around in piles like I've seen at some other places -- not to mention I get compliments on my hair cut and color constantly. All of the stylists who work there are professional and fun. Brooke has a very calculated approach to things, every time I have gotten highlights on my naturally reddish/dirty blond hair she would bring the color book to show me what she had in mind so there were no surprises. When I decided to color my hair nearly black with ombre highlights she studied the picture I brought in and the results were nearly identical. She would never let me leave her chair without feeling 100% satisfied with the outcome. If you are looking for a salon who will invest in you and treat you like royalty, Wicked is the place to go.

I think this is a great salon. As guy, it can be intimidating to try a salon, but AJ's is very welcoming and the staff is great. They are well priced for a guys cut and they offer a drink during your cut. Super modern atmosphere and always good songs playing.

I'm fully converted from a convenience clip. These girls are exceptional stylists with awesome personalities. I've been in almost every chair at Wicked and can't complain about one. Plus, complementary beer/coffee is the icing on the cake!

The salon is nice, but my hair didn't end up coming out how I had asked. I showed my stylist photos and asked that it be an easy grow out so I didn't have to keep going in and getting it touched up and it ended up being super streaky and super blonde instead of blended and more of an ashy blonde. I'm not confrontational and was in a big rush after 3 1/2 hours of being there, so I said I liked, gave her a good tip because she was nice and left. I hoped that after a week it would grow on me, but after showing some people the exact same pictures I showed my stylist everyone said that it didn't look the same at all. I decided to call in after the color and streaks didn't fade to see if she could fix it and make it blend more. She said she would, but would have to charge me an additional $60+ and that's after I already paid $200 for the original appointment (I have no problem spending good money on getting my hair done, but would expect a better outcome). She also said I should of asked for an ombre, which I've had before and knew it wasn't what I was showing or asking for either. I'm new to the area and was already pretty nervous about having someone else color my hair and told her that, so I was hoping since I was potentially a new customer and it wasn't what I initially asked for (not to mention leaving her a good tip) she would fix it for free as a lot of other stylist do, but she wouldn't. I hate leaving bad reviews, but overall it just wasn't a good experience and when I go back home I will have to pay my old hairdresser to redo it.
