I absolutely love Stella Nova in Mt. Pleasant. Jessalyn is the best hairdresser I've ever had. I have curly hair, and where most hair stylist's are unsure or afraid to cut curly hair, Jessalyn is not. She is an intuitive hair dresser, who listens to the flow and body of each client's hair, and gives them an outstanding haircut that works with their natural hair. I absolutely love her. Her service is always pampering and she consistently produces awesome hair results. Additionally, I had a one-hour massage with Madeline, upstairs at the Spa. She did a fabulous job. She used lilac and lavender scents, and when I left, my feet felt lighter and I felt as though I had more space and ease in my body. I have had several massages in my life, and Madeline's was the best by far. I highly recommend Stella Nova for all your hair style and spa needs.

All of my experiences have been BEYOND AMAZING! Everyone here is so kind. I get my hair done by Nichole Young and she NEVER disappoints. I tend to change my hair often and each time I leave feeling 1000x better than before. My natural hair is brown but I usually get blonde, I’ve gotten balayage, back brown, highlights, I’ve had it all and every time it looks so natural and beautiful. I get so many compliments on my hair and it’s all because of her! I highly recommend her and always send my friends her name. She is the best of the best. She is honest and will truly do what is good for your hair in the end.

I have been coming to Stella Nova in Mt. Pleasant for four years now! The Staff is always pleasant, professional and welcoming! There are two salient ladies that I would very much like to commend. The first one is Ms. Kasey Eli, one of the Senior Stylists. She always goes above and beyond, to make sure that every aspect of my visit is taken care of perfectly and pleasantly. The second salient staff member I would like to commend, is the Front End Manager, Ms. Cheryl Short. She is always pleasantly, willingly and efficiently, making sure that all aspects of my visit were efficiently executed. These two ladies are valued staff members of Stella Nova! God Bless Them!

This is a beautiful salon in a great location. I had my hair cut and highlighted while we were on vacation. The cut was great, but the color continued to brighten after I left and was way more intense than I intended. My guess is it was probably left on too long. I would get my hair cut here again, but be careful with color.

I have been going to stella nova for full highlights for about a year. Today I tried a different hair dresser, and found out some unsettling news. The under layer of the back of my hair, which I have been paying over 200 dollars to get lightened per visit, had not been touched in about 6 months. Also, the levels of bleach used in my hair were extremely damaging when I was placed under a dryer for 20 minutes+. I had awesome experiences here with Noel, the sweetest stylist, but I don't know what has gone wrong my last few visits with different stylists. I am extremely disappointed and hope for answers and better luck next time!

My daughter and i have been going to Malory Starr Wrigley for maybe 7 or 8 years! We both do color and cuts and neither one of us has ever been disappointed! Malory was born to b a hair designer! The short story is save your money and just go to great clips. I normally go to a salon downtown but when my hair stylist moved I made an appointment with Stella Nova expecting similar quality. I have a long, thick, well-maintained hair. I walked in and walked out in less than 23 minutes and was charged their master level pricing. It only took her three minutes to wash my hair which I timed. there was not any product used on my hair, and I literally had to stop her and tell her what I wanted before she just started cutting , not that it made any difference in what she ended up doing. There was no styling at all for my hair even though I told her I always wear it with a certain part and wavy. She did the exact opposite, and in addition to that, she insulted me by suggesting that I do not maintain my hair and that it “must’ve been along time since my last haircut.” My last haircut was three months ago at a very well-known downtown salon. Also, being local and living on Daniel Island I found it especially disturbing that the entire conversation revolved around her and how much she despised southern people after moving to Charleston from Ohio. I will be contacting the manager to discuss this. I am not cheap by any means and rarely leave negative reviews. However, this experience at Stella nova was so grossly disappointing that I felt others should know before making an appointment. It seems that the brand has not been upheld with choosing it’s salon stylist.

I have been going to see Malory for 10+ years and she is fabulous! She always listens and/or makes suggestions to make my hair look better than I could have even imagined. The color and cut is always perfect! Finally leaving a review since I just got married and leaving reviews for all of my wedding team. Malory was a vital part of my big day by doing my bridal hair and makeup. I trust her so much that we didn’t even need to do a trial run and I absolutely loved the end result!!

I started getting my hair cut from Malory 6 years ago. Since then, I've moved to Charlotte and I still make the trip back to Charleston to have her do my hair! I'm finally writing a review because I recently decided to dye my hair for the first time in my life and she did an amazing job! I went with the balayage look because I didn't want anything too drastic, and I preferred it to look natural. She nailed it! One person who doesn't see me very often said she couldn't even tell I had anything done because it looked so natural. See for yourself in the pictures. If you're unfamiliar with the balayage, it's the technique of free-hand painting highlights onto the hair, creating a soft and natural gradation of lightness towards the ends. There's no foil used. She literally painted the product to lift the color onto my hair with a brush. Oh, and I feel it's worth mentioning, I trusted her to do this when I'm getting married in 7 months because I knew she'd do a good job.

I've been coming to Amy Jo to cut my hair for years. I always trust her to make me feel and look my best! Sometimes the wait time is a few minutes, but I enjoy the quiet once I've stepped away from my daily craziness (kids, job, etc). I would recommend Danielle for any waxing. Stella Nova has such a relaxing atmosphere (but not pretentious). Everyone is very helpful and kind, and I love the products available for purchase. I always find something great for my kids' teachers and sitters.

I have been going to Stella Nova Mt Pleasant for 3 years now. I have always had exceptional service. Always pleased with what Jennifer does with my hair. If it wasn't great I wouldn't be driving 45 minutes to get my hair done. One time there was a problem with the lights so instead of sending me home she cut and colored in front of the window and didn't even charge me. Tell me another place that would have done that! Customer for life.

I went to Stella Nova to touch up my eyebrows by threading, mainly just because threading is the only form of eyebrow grooming I'm not terrfied of. I was scheduled very quickly (since it was walk in) with Danielle. She was super friendly and nice, but turns out she did waxing, so she told the girl that did threading that I needed to be helped. This lady however (her initials were M.I. , I was never told her name other than what I saw on the paper) was rude and cold and didn't even let me explain to her that I just wanted to touch up a few little details on my eyebrows and not get them full on threaded. I had also brought a friend with me for moral support and she didn't let her come in the room with me, unlike Danielle who gladly allowed my friend to come with me. I felt extremely uncomfortable with M.I. Basically, I walked out of Stella Nova with much thinner eyebrows and a very awkward shape that I guess she thought looked good, but I just feel self conscious because my eyebrows are so much thinner. I regret not having gotten an eyebrow wax with Danielle. Whatever her name was, M.I. will for sure not be touching my eyebrows anymore.

I just had my first appointment with Johnna. This is the first time in a long time that I have LOVED my hair. She had her work cut out for her after my previous color with another stylist, and she was honest about what we could do, and she delivered beautiful hair that was what I envisioned. It was my first time getting my hair dyed and I was prepared with a picture of a natural ombré but while doing it I'm pretty positive that she left it in for too long of a time at the end it came out horrible but to cover up the mistake she curled it I had never walked out of a salon with tears in my eyes till now but thankfully they're letting me come back and try to fix it although my hair is very damaged now
