I stopped /shopped into 3 salons before choosing CoCo Salon to correct years of bad highlights on blond, slate, graying hair. Only at CoCo did the stylist, Jacqueline, actually take the time to look at my hair and offer her advice on what needed to be done. She was straightforward on time, cost and expectations. I just returned from a 4+ hour appointment where it was clear, from the start, that Jacqueline really understands hair color and the how/when/how long it needs to be applied and processed. This is, by far, the best color result that I've had in years. I feel like I went from looking 66 years old to 46...well, at least my hair looks that vibrant!

I met Jacqueline a few years ago. I had received a horrible haircut at another salon and I was so unhappy with it. Immediately after meeting Jacqueline I knew I was in good hands. She colored and cut my hair and it was 100% better. What I appreciated about Jacqueline was not only her exceptional skills but her ability to make me feel better. I was confidant in time and under Jacqueline's care I would feel better about my hair and I did. I also had facials at Jacqueline's salon and they were some of the best facials I have ever had. I purchased products also, I never felt pressured to buy anything but trusted Jacqueline's opinion regarding products. I was always very pleased with the products. After moving out of state I called Jacqueline to get the exact color she used on my hair. Jacqueline was more than willing to help. I often wished I lived in MB just so I could have Jacqueline as my hairdresser. In closing, if you want to receive excellent service and care then Coco's is the place to go.

I went to CoCo Salon and Spa for the first time this past November and was very happy with not only the customer service but the products. I returned not long ago expecting the same treatment and product that I left so happy with months before however sadly did NOT. I was convinced into getting a pedicure manicure for a special price of $35, but only had time for a pedicure (even though I was there for two hours) (Megan did a great job btw). Somehow I ran out of time to do the manicure but was still charged for the manicure pedicure special. I left and really wasnt happy with my hair and paid $200.00. I called the very next morning to talk with Jacquline (who is the owner) about fixing the color of my hair and she said that she was too busy to get to me until this coming week. She did say that she would fix it however there would still be an additional cost to fix it and continued to defend herself stating that it was my fault that the color came out wrong. I always thought that the customer was right, but I guess not at CoCo Salon!!! I WILL NEVER RETURN!!!! I'll take my hard earned cash and have a TRUE PROFESSIONAL treat not only my hair but pocketbook with respect!

I've been going to sports clip in Myrtle Beach beside Costco until the best Girl in The house NZ left, sports clips girls are envious of her most Clients ask for her expertise every time she works, I've been NZ client for 8 years , Nz is very particular with angles and curves base on client facial feature and head shape, she don't turn her client away from the mirror so you can maintain watching her as she cuts your hair which is very Pro in character unlike those girls in Sportsclip. Best hair cut I've ever had. Visiting here from MIchigan and had to get my hair cut - it was a mess. Looked on both Yelp and Goggle and CoCo's had very very good reviews. So, took a chance and booked with Jacqulyn. I'm 63 years old, and this is the first time EVER that a stylist said "I'm going to cut your hair dry since you have such soft, fine hair". WHAT?? Anyway, after the shampoo and blow dry, she cut. perfectly. AND, we talked about color for a while - she had some really good suggestions. Sure wish I could take her back to Michigan with me.!

This was by far the worst experience of my life. I have never had an experience so bad to where I had to go out of my way to write a review and more... I did my research and this appeared to be a reasonably priced deal. I went into this salon asking to have heavy GOLEN blonde highlights. I showed her 3 pictures at the start and even had her talk to the lady that used to do my hair to confirm how it's usually done. The pricing was nothing like it said online. It was overpriced. The whole time, the stylist and business owner, Jacqueline Sarno was going off about how she makes sure her customers like it and leave happy. She even repeated me and compared the golden look to another customer she worked with. "You want a more golden honey tone." She said. I nodded and mid way when the foiling was drying, she asked about it. I told her there weren't enough highlights and politely asked for more. She refused to fix it and went forth with the toner. 4 hours later, I'm waiting for the toner to dry and a sweet lady with very healthy blonde hair walks in trying to get low lights. I overheard Jacqueline spending 25 minutes telling her how ugly it would look. Se told her it "couldn't be done." The customer was upset because she said she wished Jaqueline didn't say something opposite on the phone...She was upset she drove all that way to get her hair done for the stylist to tell her it's impossible and that it would look ugly. The girl walked out almost in tears. By the time the foiling was almost dry I still told her I wanted more foils. She got another customer involved and spoke on her behalf saying "she wants to see the pictures you showed me."However, the customer looked uncomfortable. After 5 hours she finished my hair. It was partially highlighted completely brassy and ashed. It was completely fried. I told her I didn't like it and I would like her to re-do it. She refused and got extremely angry and loud. She got up into my face telling me to not even "go there" She lied about everything and wouldn't stop getting in my face and yelling at me. I felt extremely uncomfortable and scared. I told her it's fine. I paid her mother (the front desk lady) and left. I got into my car in tears of how scared and upset I was with the fried ashed hair. I was scared and upset. I vented to others about it. The next day I went there with a friend (for emotional support). I politely asked to have a refund because I woke up with my hair falling out and an EXTREMELY itchy scalp. Jaqueline immediately interrupted me and said it was her turn to talk (however, she was the only one who gave her view in the first place" She went off yelling at me about how she thought I was "taking advantage" of her. I then politely replied with "I understand ma'am, now can I share my side?" and she immediately interrupted and pointed her finger in my face. My friend then chimed in and said, "ma'am please do not get in my friend's face and point at her like that." Jaqueline immediately yelled at us to leave and get out. I told her mother that I would show her a picture of the aftermath of my hair and me in the car crying. Her mother laughed at me and made fun of the fact that I cried. I was forced out with a finger an inch away from my friend's nose in a harsh and scary manner. This was HORRIBLE customer service, and the worst experience of my life. I don't know how this establishment stays running, especially when I had seen a customer right in front of me walk out upset because of how cruel and deceiving Jaqueline was. I will never go back and I do NOT recommend this to anyone. Do not go there. These women are mean and will do your hair however they want it. They will even make you sign a waiver to do it their way.

I am super picky about my hair. My hair is long (down to my butt!) and thick. I hadn't had it cut in several years due to a horrible experience where I asked for a trim and a foot was taken off. I had some serious anxiety about getting it cut but after much research I found Jacqueline. I was immediately impressed with her credentials and training. Upon walking into the salon she was very warm and welcoming and immediately put me at ease. She took the time to listen to me and look at pictures to ensure that I would get exactly what I want. After listening to her professional opinion I went for the Victoria Secret hair cut and couldn't be happier! Although my hair is considerably shorter (probably a foot again), I do not feel the least bit traumatized and am in love with my new look. She even took the time afterward to explain what my new hair routine should be at home. After living here for 9 years (I'm from NY),and struggling to find a hair dresser and many traumatic experiences I can honestly say she is the BEST and a true genius in her field. I highly recommend her...you will not be disappointed!

After having had my hair butchered at a low end salon, I was going to let it grow out and start over; then I found Coco's. Ms . Jacqueline was amazing! from the shampoo to the cut itself, she was very professional and took my medium short chop job and made it into something modern and professional. When I got home, my (new) husband saw my.cut and absolutely loved it. On top of my cut, I received a wax on my lip and brow... I don't know what she uses, but the wax job was not painful as.some places I have been, and I did not stay red for very long. I also got a massage well I was at Cocos , it was great. This lady has amazing hands! within mintues I was extremely relaxed and felt the tension melting away. She was very professional in how she had me dress down, kept me covered with the sheets, and kept her touch at a very comfortable. All in all, I was very impressedwiththis salon, and I most definitelyplan on being a return client.

Jacqueline has done my hair twice now. The first time I went to her for my wedding. I wanted an up-do with a fancy braid across the top and pinned up curls. The thing I like about Jacqueline is her honesty - she is up front during her consultations about what will and will not work with your hair length and texture. I had brought in a picture of the style I wanted and she told me in order to get the thickness of the braid in the picture that I would need to purchase hair extensions. I'm not familiar with hair extensions but she told me exactly where I could find them and what I would need. The style ended up looking just like the picture! I also got airbrush makeup done by Jacqueline for the wedding and WOW it was gorgeous. It lasted all night and was the best makeup application I have ever received. Several of my bridesmaids got their hair and makeup done by Jacqueline as well and they looked great! The second time I got my hair done by Jacqueline was when I wanted to get bangs for the first time since I was 5. I was nervous but I'd become obsessed with long bangs and I showed her a picture of the kind I wanted. She cut them exactly right and showed me how to use a round brush to get them perfect every morning. The one time I didn't go to Jacqueline I went to Ulta since they are a little cheaper and I thought they had high quality stylists. I got my hair dyed back to my natural color of brown but the stylist made it way darker than I wanted and I really hated it. Jacqueline is well worth the price and I will be using her exclusively from now on! Not to mention she has a great memory. Even though I only go about once every six months she still remembers little details about my life and I feel like we are old friends catching up every time I go. Thank you Jacqueline!!!

I've gone to multiple hair salons in Pawleys Island over the course of two years and have walked out of all of them less than satisfied. I called in to schedule an appointment and was able to be seen that same day. When I spoke to Jacklyn about what I wanted, instead of telling me that wasn't possible, or that there was no way my hair would hold that color (all the stylists I saw prior to Jacklyn told me one of these statements). I have long, thick wavy hair which seems to be difficult for some stylists to deal with. She not only gave me the exact color I wanted, but she also cut my hair and fixed the botched hair cut I had gotten prior. My hair has honestly never looked so good, or felt so healthy. I loved my experience with Jacklyn. I normally listen to music in my headphones because the awkward silence between the stylist and I can be unsettling. I talked and laughed with her the entire time I was in her chair. She's absolutely great, I won't be going anywhere else.

Would give less than one star if Google allowed. Booked an appointment for my wife for her birthday and it was a total botch job. Jacqueline Sarno spent less than 15 mins styling and cutting her hair. Didn’t even wash before her cut. She felt like she was just being fit in between other appointments and little no attention was spent on her. She’s now having to go to another stylist to get the cut she wanted. Do not go here unless you want to have to go somewhere else to fix the mess. Definitely a terrible experience. F-

Jacqueline was wonderful and helped explain many things to me, stuff about how the hair processes worked - no other place has ever been so helpful or descriptive! She had a lot of work to do on my hair, but the entire time I was there, there was never a “small talk” conversation like many places - I genuinely enjoyed each conversation, it was a very pleasant experience and I look forward to the time I go again! So weird!!! I called at 9am when they opened and clearly sounded like the lady that answered the phone was clearly in bed. I asked if anyone in the salon had any openings for a 90 minute service (wash, blow dry and straighten) and she immediately said NO WE DO NOT and hung up the phone. Go some other place. This lady is a straight up meanie who obviously has never taken a customer service class.

I was just visiting the Myrtle Beach area and needed a quick hair trim. They were kind enough to work me in and the cut was ok. I was told one price over the phone but when I checked out it was significantly higher. A little disappointed about that. I didn't like being told one thing, and after the service was done, being told something different. Can't do anything about it now.

This is the most expensive place ive been to and they did a quick cheap job. Totally not worth the money and I'll never go back. I asked for natural highlights that would look more subtle when it grows out. She did a slicing technique which gave me thick chunky highlights that have a thick blunt beginning near the root instead of a natural weave which would have looked much better on my thin fine blonde hair. I paid for the highlight and style and they only half way dried my hair and didnt even style it. The stylist only talked to the trainee and kept saying how you should do whatever it takes to finish the hair fast, so they can make more money. Well, by golly it was the quickest foiling I ever had and yes the crappiest highlight I ever had. Good job Jacqueline, you made the money you kept talking about. You royally ripped me off.

Not impressed. Came for a blowout.... informed stylist I needed blowout for event she started blow drying but then after it was mostly dry began straightening it..... I formed her again I wanted a blowout and she said my hair would be to frizzy... and proceeds with basically just drying my hair and using the flatiron. This is not what I booked and I didn’t come to the salon for something I can do myself . Stay away

Yes I loved it! The salon was so clean and so nice inside. Its a gem in the Core Gym strip mall on Grissom Parkway. Jacqueline was the stylist a NYC Colorist !!! She was sweet and patient with me as we looked online at photos of hair coloring. I got just what I wanted Ombre Highlights on my dark brown hair. It looks really awesome and everyone asks me where I got it done. Wow, this is the WORST place ever! So bad that I left before she even started. I am new to the area, and don’t really know anyone, so I tried to read reviews to find a place that was highly recommended. Seriously, this girl must have paid her friends to write good reviews because there is no way anyone on this planet could walk into this place and believe they were going to get a decent cut or color. When I called to make an appointment they did not seem overly friendly, which is okay I guess, but when I asked how far in advance I would need to make an appointment the girl on the phone seemed very off put by my question, and asked can you come in today? Today, really? Okay, well maybe she had a cancellation. I could not come that day, so I asked what else she had, and was told I could pretty much come any day, any time I wanted. Hmmm?? Seemed a little odd, but I went ahead and made an appointment for the next morning. When I got there is when the major problems started. I walked in, and there were two women sitting at the front desk. The one girl introduced herself as Jacqueline the stylist, and the other girl was the receptionist. Without even getting up from her chair at the desk she asked what I wanted done. Let’s start by saying, my hair is all one length, and is dark brown with lots blonde highlights. I like my hair to be a little lighter in the summer, and then I go a little darker in the winter, which I explained. I told her I just wanted 1-2 inches cut off the length, and I wanted it very blunt because I straighten my hair. I also said I wanted her to texturize it to thin it out. As for color I wanted dark brown, which is my natural color, with chunky blonde highlights, but wanted more dark than light, which is the opposite of what I currently had. This is pretty much as basic as you can get when you are talking about cut and highlights. So she asked if I brought a pic. I said no, so she said I needed to come around the counter and look at Pinterest to show her what I wanted. Really???? If you require a pic why not just say that when I made the appointment, but okay. So I showed her exactly what I wanted, and then she started asking if I liked other pics that were nothing like what I showed her, so I was starting to get frustrated. I kept going back to the original pic, and told her that is what I wanted. Then she asked me to look for pics of the cut. My hair is all one length, and I wanted to keep it all one length, and just take 1-2 inches off. Why would any hair stylist need a pic of that????? Anyway, she finally asked me to take a seat in the chair, which I did, and she came over with a clip board, and seemed very confused about the color. She was asking me things like do I want her to color all of my hair or can she just touch up the roots? Um, how will the rest of my hair be dark with chunky highlights if you only touch up the roots???? Then she asked me how many highlights I wanted? How many????? I have no idea how many, so I told her however many it takes to make my hair look like the pic I showed you. So, she started having an attitude, and said I need to tell her what I want or she won’t be able to do my hair. I said, I am not the stylist, you are, and I expect that if she saw a pic she would know how to do it. Then she said it was a matter of cost. I told her I didn’t care about the cost I just wanted my hair to look good when she was finished. She clearly got more frustrated, so I told her I would make it easy, and she could just color it all one color and forget the highlights since apparently that was going to be too difficult. That obviously struck a nerve, and she told me to stop being so rude. Rude??? She’s the stylist who had no idea how to do highlights and a simple trim of all one length hair. At that point I told her to forget it. I would rather wait then have her touch my hair, and I walked out. How this place is even open is beyond me!

I am now a regular customer of Coco Salon and Spa in Myrtle Beach, SC for my hair cuts, eyebrow waxes, and pedicures. Jacqueline Sarno is amazing! The first time I went, I told her to do whatever she would like to with my hair and it's as if she ready my mind. I absolutely loved it. She is a great stylist with an edgy place to call home to her salon. I love the atmosphere and although I seem to get a new style every time I go, it's always better than the one before! I am adding to this review after my original post as the response from the business owner was Incredibly unprofessional. Her response attempts to attack me as a person. She said I called to ask others for funds to do my hair- not the case at all. I called my husband because I was unsure about spending so much. She said I booked online- I didn't, I called about an hour before I came in to see if she had time to do my hair. She implied I asked for a refund- not once did I ask for a refund. She said I tried to talk her down on the price- never did that either. The person who did my hair prior to her was a professional, and my hair was not fried or crumbling. My hair has been bleached, but is healthy and this is apparent in the pictures I posted. Her response never directly addressed the poor and overpriced ( I 100% standby that opinion) job she did on my hair. Without even reading the rest of this review but rather skipping straight to her response, you should know that this is not a woman you want to allow access to your hair. People make mistakes- she not only made a mistake, but she didn't do anything to fix it and when I wrote this review she attempted to attack how others might view me by making up lies. Original Post: I carefully considered writing this review for a couple weeks now as I didn't want to unfairly write a negative review out of anger. But a couple weeks have passed and I still find myself quite frustrated with my experience at Coco Salon with Jacqueline. I went into Coco Salon with a very hard line of bright blonde hair against my very dark natural root. At first when I sat down I felt impressed with the time Jacqueline spent with me to talk about what I want, but now after leaving I feel as though it was more of a sales pitch. She gave me my options of how to fix the hard line in my hair and really gave me a great up-sell for the balayage. It was the most expensive option but in other pictures it looked great and I decided, although it was A LOT of money, it would be worth it. I then spent several hours in the shop waiting for my promised results of this very expensive technique. When I left I paid upward of $360 for the balayage and a cut. When I got home, I was very upset over the result. My hair did not look like a balayage but rather looked like a couple of blonde highlights were put in at the roots. There was still a very hard line between light and dark. A few days later I called Coco salon to see if Jacqueline could take a look at my hair and see if there was anything she could do. She told me over the phone she would be happy to and we could put in some low lights to help the transition a little better. I took a couple hours off work and drove an hour and a half for her to tell me once I got there that low lights were not included in the cost that I already paid. She then proceeded to tell me that she did a good job, could not make my hair look any better and that the reason it did not look right was because the person who did my hair before her fried it. She kept talking and every time I tried to bring up the hard dark line that was still in my hair, she differed. I could not get a word in. She also kept telling me that I was "emotional". The moral of the story is I spent upwards of $360 for a couple of blonde highlights in my roots, a cut and many hours of wasted time and promises. Please see the pictures attached to this review are the results of the "balayage" that Jacqueline gave me.

I walked out of CoCo’s a week ago looking ten years younger than when I walked in. Jacqueline is very well trained and gave me a perfect precision haircut that gave body to my thin fine hair. This was the worst experience I’ve ever had at a hair salon. I just moved to Myrtle Beach from Dallas. I was looking for a top rated hair salon. I googled it and Coco Salon was the first to come up. First of all, I was there for four hours. My hair is not long nor is it damaged. I’ve always gone to salons to get my hair done I’m not a do it at home type of girl. When I went to pay the total amount I was shocked. $300.00 for highlights and cut. The owner Jacqueline told me when you come back it will only be $65.00. I went back expecting her to honor that. I was told it would be $65.00 and an additional $58.00 for the trim. I was just there 1.5 months ago. I explained that’s not what she had originally said when I left last time and expressed that I thought the prices were ridiculous (being I was just there). She informed me she was not going to do my hair and that all of the services were a la carte! A la carte is great when I’m ordering food but never have I been to a salon with an owner who only cares about her a l carte pricing versus the client. And... she says honestly I don’t know who you are. I’m in sales and make a point of knowing every customer! Obviously I’m not that as important as the a la carte pricing. She didn’t do a great job and the only reason I went back was because she told me my next appointment would be $65.00, oh and when you check out your prompted to tip 15,20,25 %. Long review I know, but for those of you visiting or new to town when this salon pops up...move on.. find another. Then she posts and says I’m strange and s liar I thought you said you didn’t know who I was?? Strange is involving customers in your business. You are the most unprofessional...strange.. wanna be I’ve ever gone across. I’d be careful slandering people you don’t know. You claim to have all these credentials. Try a business etiquette class!!!!! I was not kicked out. I happily walked out and recommend anyone else to run....not walk!!

I have seen Jacqueline for 3 appointments and been very pleased. My first visit was for color correction after my hair was extremely over processed. Jacqueline explained the steps that would be taken over many months to get my hair healthy again. Much skill and expertise has been used to get my very damaged hair healthy and pretty again. Color is chemistry and Jacqueline really met the challenge to color and cut my hair when I came to her after my disaster with another hair stylist. So many "licensed" stylists, but that doesn't always mean professional. Jacqueline is a skilled professional.

She takes her time, does beautiful work, and gives the best salon experience possible. I will always be a returning, happy customer. I took one look at a friends hair and immediately had to know where she went. My friend, Kate, gave a verbal reference for CoCo Salon. I called and my experience is exactly what was explained and expected. Jacqueline has the knowledge, skills, and attitude to make for a great experience! I have had more compliments on my hair in the last six to eight weeks than the last four years combined. Jacqueline has the credentials to back up her work. She is NYC certified in hair coloring, and her Victoria Secret hair cut is amazing. The angle in which she cuts my hair allows my hair to be styled with ease. She has the ability to look at your hair type, facial features, and know what will work to improve your look. She also works with you and listens to personal hair preferences. I have quite a bit of gray, and she uses a combination of really good products that do not fade my color. My hair is now approximately one inch, or so, below my shoulders. I usually wear my hair longer but I am super thrilled with my new look. You get what you pay for. If you are looking for individualized service and someone who takes their time, go to CoCo Salon.

Posting an edit to clarify why one star given: when calling to make an appointment I was told balayage for hair beyond the shoulder was $150. When I arrived for my appointment I was quickly encouraged to reschedule because this was going to take 4 hours to do and to me it felt like she may have had a secondary agenda for the day and I may have been interrupting? I'm not sure but it was my birthday treat to myself and I had the day off so I was ok with taking the time to finally get my hair done. I then had to sign off to paying $250! (Eek! That's not what was said on the phone but turns out if your hair is beyond the bra strap it's even more). Again I told myself this was a birthday treat so just do it. I was also warned that with hair dye already on my hair it may not turn out as light as I want it to (I didn't expect it to be blonde streaks by any means so I knew not to expect that with my dark hair, but I expected more than what I got especially for what I paid!). A fourth of my time was left lying in a sink with wet hair for over an hour which was uncomfortable but didn't think I had a choice since my hair was dripping and processing with a toner. When I left with only a slight color difference and hardly any noticeable highlighting effects anywhere to be seen, I took a photo and sent it to my salon owner friend (very SUCCESSFUL salon owner for years I should add) who lives a few hours away. She was shocked at what I paid for what I got and said I should have asked for my money back because previously dyed hair was an excuse for just not doing it properly. I am not a confrontational person so I just put this down as my loss/fault and thought lesson learned but that I would warn others as well. I should have just drove hours away to someone who could do my hair right. I have been coloring my hair with PROFESSIONAL hair color on my own for a year to cover gray hair as instructed/trained to do by my friend salon owner. Again, I am just putting my experience out there to warn others to go at your own risk and just know it is very overpriced so do more shopping around before just going for the first place with decent reviews on google like I did

I was driving by and saw this Salon so decided to check it out. A few weeks ago, I had my hair done in Orlando, Fl but they messed up the highlights, the toner was too strong, the "blonde" highlights were brassy, my hair was a mess! When I walked into this salon I was praying they'll be able to do something about this mess. I met with Jacqueline who immediately gave me hope and proceeded to "detox" my hair, meaning took the color off. Then she did some highlights but the hair still looked too light. As a result, I asked her if she could throw in a few low lights and nicely she agreed. The result was good defined highlites I'm happy overall. And most importantly, I appreciate her cheering me up and restoring my hair to shine & lights! ✨ Thank you Jackie, I look forward to see you again when I come back to visit Myrtle Beach! Another plus, she looks like the actress from My Greek Wedding, so her looks emanate warmth
