I usually get waxed by Karen, she is amazing and always makes me feel so comfortable. She plays music and keeps a steady conversation to help you relax which is awesome for those who know how painful a Brazilian wax can be. Recently got waxed by Whitney who is new to the shop, but did an excellent job and also had good people skills to help me keep my.mind off of the pain and carry a conversation. I've gotten a mixed message here once and it was wonderful. I highly recommend this place to anyone looking to get waxed, or even for a massage to treat themself. *I do not work here and was not asked to create a review

I had a lovely experience today! I personally had Lakresha for my massage and it was excellent. The environment was warm, inviting, and relaxing. I recommend adding on the CBD oil to any massage or facial. Karen, the owner is very personable and sacrificial (as she offers 10% military discount) which is greatly appreciated. She also complimented her employees and mentioned they are all a team!Whitney is gentle and makes you feel comfortable if you are getting any waxing done. Tiffany at the front desk helped me tremendously in many ways with her friendliness and knowledge in helping me decide what services I wanted to get done (as I had walked in without an appointment). Finally, as we were leaving Kristina checked us out up front and was very considerate and friendly. I want to also add that they are very timely and efficient!

After moving to sumter nearly 4 years ago, I had tried a few different places but the only one i wanted to go back to was About the Body. I have had massage services from a few different therapist and waxing services done. I currently see Karen the most, and must say she is amazing, along with the rest of her staff. Everyone is nice and comforting, and always offering be the best options when i am not sure what I need. About 10 months ago I had a minor accident while on a motorcycle. I was extremely sore. I went in and saw Karen, explained to her what happened and she was able to make me feel much better. Because of that massage i am positive i recovered in half the time! Now i am currently 31 weeks pregnant and only been able to sleep on my sides. My hips have been waking me up at night from the pain and turning to the other side was no longer helping. Again went into see Karen and told her my hips were bad, I am now going on three days without the hip pain! Sleeping seems more possible now and I am not completely miserable during the day. I am so grateful to have found About the Body so early on after moving here and I recommend it to anyone looking for any of their services they offer. It has always been a great experience.

Friendly Staff , Very Clean . It was my first time getting a massage, so I was nervous and didn’t know what to expect.!i went in hoping they could help with a muscle spasm that I have had almost a month ... Thanks to Karen.. it’s 90 percent better , finally I got relief!!! Definitely going back and referring my friends here . My experience here was wonderful. If you haven’t been here you definitely need to come , I promise you won’t regret it Oh and the prices are very reasonable definitely worth the price !!

I absolutely love About the Body!! Moving to a small town a couple of years ago was hard for me and I was upset about not having my massages and waxing nearby. I always used the chain places in the cities I lived in, and Sumter didn't have any of those. After moving I decided to try About the Body and I have never looked back. I never even tried anywhere else in town after my first experience with Karen. There was no need. I had found my spot, and I'm known for being very picky! I've been going to Karen for waxes for over 2 years now and I've had massages from several different therapists there. Never once have I been anything less than extremely satisfied with my appointments. They are SO clean and professional. If I had know about them before I moved, I would've driven to Sumter just to use them. Anything you need, they will take care of you! You will leave feeling amazing and like you are a part of the About the Body family!

I just wanted a quick massage before a chiropractor appointment but wish now that I had made time for a longer session. I so stubbornly put up with a tension headache for over a week before making my 30 minute custom massage. Karen asked all the right questions and focused on my primary symptoms. I’ve been coming to about the body for Brazilian waxes since about March 2018. I’ve seen all three of the wonderful ladies who do waxes. And they all ROCK! Seriously!!! They also currently offer something that I’ve never even heard of at the spa/salon. Monthly waxing memberships! It’s a great way to make sure you keep up with getting your wax monthly. And it’s WAY cheaper than just coming in every four weeks for a wax. Super convenient too! They just draft it from your account every month and you schedule when you want to come in. I’ve also had a massages, facials and some other waxing speciality’s and they’ve all been amazing! AMAZING!! Awesome staff, great pricing! The place is ALWAYS spotless. Couldn’t ask for more! ❤️

I had a gift certificate that was for an hour long massage and then an additional $25 for another service. I booked the massage online and planned to use the extra $25 when I got there because I wasn't sure what services were offered. When I arrived I told them my name and they could not find the extra $25 service that the family member had included when they gifted it to me. They looked at me like they didn't believe me and kept saying "Well we don't see it." I showed them in my email and we got it straightened out. They were looking in the wrong folder. This took several minutes because of their lack of organization. I was asking about the added service and they lady (Karen) said "You can do it after the massage. But just letting you know, you are already 10 minutes into your massage time. " So I said, whatever just get started. Karen took another five minutes to come in. Then she had to "prepare" the room which should have already been done. She was unfriendly, impersonal, and cut the massage short by nearly 20 minutes. I arrived before my appointment time to specifically talk about the additional service and the reason they started late was fault of their own. There was not a single other client in the office. When Karen finoomy massage she went and sat in a chair and started talking to someone. So I know she didn't have to rush me to get someone else in. I was trying to schedule an additional service and was being told that everything was an "add on" service. Meaning that I would have to get another massage and add on something during that massage. They never told me that beforehand and I was four days from moving out of the area, so I wasn't going to come back. So I made an appointment for the next day for eyebrow tinting. My brows are very blonde and should be easy to tint. They lady said 'Well, it's not taking for some reason. " So I left with eyebrows lighter than before I went and more money down the drain. Rude, impersonal, and just wanted my money.. I would never recommend this place to someone.
