From beginning to end our group had a fantastic experience! We had a group of 6 for the water journey which is amazing. We loved that everyone could go at their own pace and do their own thing yet we were all still together. Everyone was extremely professional and helpful. We would definitely recommend the water journey and would love to come back for other services!

I always love going to Bodhi. In fact, I travel 80 minutes just to be there. Nothing works better on your muscles then the water therapy. I'm an event planner and I make a point to go to Bodhi after every event to rejuvenate my body. I went today for 2 cycles through the water tourney after 2 weeks of not being able to really move my shoulder and I feel loose and relaxed now! I've told all my friends and family about Bodhi and send out an open invitation every time I go. The staff there is always so helpful, respectful, and sweet! I've had massages there and always feel respected and relaxed with them. I really just can't say enough great things about this place.

Bodhi Spa is a beautiful clean facility and we highly recommend it! It's a complete respite.....Just remember to whisper because we had a few annoying people near us having social hour.

I have had MANY MANY deep tissue massages and by far DAN blows them away. If u like deep/firm pressure instead of someone just rubbing lotion on you I highly recommend Dan.... This place is a piece of heaven after a lot of walking and touring beautiful Newport. The water experience is blissful. Enjoy the water journey before your massage or treatment for best relaxation/results.

It's so wonderful. Very clean. The girls were so friendly. It was our 1st time there. I liked that she said we could stay as long as we liked. The water journey is what we tried. It's a small area. Locker room was so Zen and a cute garden area to relax in the back. The garden area was peaceful and had different lounge chairs. We'd go again for sure.

Arrived in Newport very tired from our travels. Made an appointment that evening for a couples massage and the Water Journey for the next day. Enjoyed both and sitting in the secluded garden with a snack. Arrived 10am and left at 3pm very mellow. They even recommended a restaurant with a good vegetarian selection: Diegos on Bowens Wharf - Fantastic

This was a great place to try out for the first time and the massages were wonderful if I was to have one dislike, it would be of the constant chanting music and whining songs that kind of brought me down from this wonderful experience.

Awesome spa and getaway in Newport. Highly recommend for girlfriends, lovers, etc. The hydrotherapy is such a unique experience. My wedding entourage brought me there before my big day and the staff was so kind. We were told to keep it down, so don't be too noisy. Helps keep the peaceful atmosphere!

The locker room floor was discussing and wet! The relaxation area was also wet. When one of the staff filled the cucumber water she dropped the top on the dirty floor filled the water and put the top back on the container without cleaning it. Not to happy!!

If you’re looking for something calming, water journey is not it. Too many people milling about, coming in/out. No privacy in women’s locker area, only 3 showers, very low light by the mirrors - couldn’t finish getting ready. Only one very positive thing- great male masseuse- worked out the knots in my mom’s neck. Not worth the trip from Providence unless you’re hanging out in Newport. Overpriced

The Water Journey is the seller of this place. I got a massage and water journey package. The massage was average but the water journey made it worth it. I enjoyed everything about the journey and the ability to just go throughout the area at my leisure. Only concern is how it must be cramped sometimes with the members that can go any time they want. I would recommend this place for people looking for a ‘different’ spa experience and relaxation.

This spa is my absolute favorite and I will remain a long time customer. The water journey makes you feel incredible. There are not many places (if any) near by that have an epsom salt and dead sea mineral jacuzzi. It is unique and powerful with many benefits to our bodies (versus a regular jacuzzi). There are two saunas and a large steam room. The size of the journey area is perfect, even when it was busy (New Year's Day) I never found it difficult to move from one therapy to the next. The staff is polite and kind. They regularly go in the journey area to clean, restock, and check on guests. I think about going to other spas to explore, but I am hooked on the experience I receive here!!

My husband and I went for the “ water journey “ and it was ok. The plus side is the nice steam room and sauna, but the pools had way too much chlorine! My husband and I had watery stinging eyes every time we were in the pools, it was so much chlorine that all I could smell was chlorine for three hours after we left. I can honestly say that my husband and I have Never experienced that much chlorine Anywhere. We still had a nice time but will not be back, it is definitely overpriced for the experience (unless you do a spa treatment then it’s half off). We do a lot of traveling with spa treatments and hot springs all over the United States and this is the first time I have had this type of dissatisfaction. I was also very surprised because the pools are supposed to by salt pools, so why do they even use chlorine- most true salt pools would not have any chlorine added. Another offhand experience- is they sent us a survey asking about how we felt about the water journey and we told them how bad the chlorine was when we went, just being honest ( not wanting anything or ever planning on returning), and the manager wrote us back telling us that the chlorine levels were fine the night we went. Crazy right! We DEFINITELY would not lie or exaggerate about our experience, I have Never even had a public pool have that much chlorine. I would say if you do not want to know then Don’t Ask.

The space is clean, fairly small but comfortable to move around in, and very relaxing. All in all thank you for a relaxing day!

The Massage was FANTASTIC. I would go back just for the massage, but keep in mind this is not really a big spa where u would spend the half the day on loungers and basket of fruit.

I drove an hour and a half from the Boston area to do the anticipated water journey with my sister and two of our oldest, dearest friends. I travel to Los Angeles special to go to the Olympic Spa which is an authentic Korean spa and I was hoping to be able to get a tiny flavor of that at The Bodhi Spa. Everything was very nice...clearly a penny wasn't spared in the aesthetic build out of the spa, even the facade of the building is gorgeous. Upon check in they give you a robe, 2 towels and a pair of flip flops. Everything was absolutely lovely and high quality, especially the steam room. Comparing to the Korean spa, the hot pools could be hotter and the cold plunge a few degrees warmer but that is my personal opinion. My favorites were the Epsom Salt Pool, the Cold Plunge, the steam and the infrared. After 2 or so hours enjoying the water journey, we were ready to get some food and headed to the locker room to change. If you do go to The Bodhi Spa, please be ultra careful in the locker room, the tile floor is extremely slippery...hopefully they'll remedy that situation soon, otherwise a great experience!

Some of the finer points (directing clients where to wait between services, additional linens in the changing rooms and some privacy walls, for example) could use some adjustments, I suspect they will over time.

This was greatly disappointing I love to travel and always enjoy a Spa day. I was excited to hear that this new spa in my own area had opened, I truly was hoping to find a "piece of heaven" to enjoy many times. My experience was terrible. The noise level was ridiculous, a group of young adults and a few couples all of whom were talking and laughing loudly, despite signs posted to be quiet and whisper only. One couple were laughing and dunking each other in the plunge pool, and even in the steam room people were having loud, opinionated conversations, which they didn't bother to subdue when I came into the room. The staff did nothing to enforce their Quiet policy. After giving up on the water journey, I thought maybe I'd wait for my massage in the lounge area. But, it turns out that there is no such thing as a "Peaceful Relaxation Room", it is just a few chairs in the corner of the same open area, with all the noise. When I decided to leave, I was told that they were going to enforce their policy of charging me for a cancelled appointment! So, they selectively enforce their policies, for their own benefit, not that of their customers. I have been to dozens of "spas" around the world, and never have experienced one where the guests were so loud and discourteous to others. Even the average hotel hot tub/sauna is more restful than this was. I suppose there are days and times when things are nicer, but I won't be coming back to see.

I went to Bodhi this past week and my boyfriend and I had a couples massage. It was his first time and he absolutely loved it. I also enjoyed my massage as well and Kenji did wonders for my back pain. My only complaint is the music selection they had. It was very distracting and I wish they had on something more calming and not so much singing. Sounded more like oriental music. Other than that we enjoyed our time at Bodhi and will definitely be back!

I had such a fabulous experience at this spa. From the staff greeting us at the entrance, to the meticulous attention to detail (hairdryer and spin swimsuit dryer in the Ladies’ change room!), to the carefully curated hydrotherapy experience, it was an exceptional visit. The facility is kept sparkling clean, and the staff regularly restock the complimentary water stations. They have two hot tubs and a cold pool, as well as infrared and traditional saunas, and an intense aromatherapy steam room. There’s a suggested hot/cold ‘circuit’ posted, but you’re free to experience in whatever way suits you best. As well, there’s a lovely little lawn and garden in the back for catching a few rays and getting some “plant therapy”. They also offer massage services if you need to work out some more tension. If you’re visiting Newport and have the time for it, I’d highly recommend booking an appointment. You won’t regret it!

Loved the SPA and the facilities. The place was clean and well-maintained. However it was so crowded that we couldn't even use one of the saunas. You had to watch and time people in order to get in the pool or sauna :((( When we called to reserve the receptionist did say that mornings tend to be busier and suggested to come in after 2 pm. Anyway the place seemed packed and they still let new people in. There should not be more than 10 people at once!!!! Otherwise you can't relax and enjoy the water journey.

This is a great spa for couples. The spa has an amazing series of thermal pools, hot, warm and cold, steam rooms and dry saunas, rooms to relax and a patio to sun bathe. On of this the facilities have facials massages and other day spa treatment. Make sure to specific who you want to do the spa if you care about a male or female massager.

A friend had been talking about this place for about a year, and last fall when I felt out of sorts after gum surgery I gave it a try, and felt immediately wonderful! I bought a six month membership to and will be sad when it ends Mid-May. Every time I go for the water journey I feel like I am on vacation. It's good to call in advance or book online to make sure it's not full, it is small. I usually go Sunday or Monday evening, and Wednesday or Thursday. But I don't mind if it's a bit more crowded. Most people are very mindful. It's beautiful and clean, and a lot cheaper than a trip to Florida. Great after a stressful day. I think they're planning on opening another, larger branch soon. I love the infrared sauna and the cold plunge the best, and the eucalyptus scented soaps. I also had a great massage with Bill. Can't praise this place enough. Six stars!

My experience at the Bodhi Spa was wonderful. The staff was polite and explained all the rules very well. The locker rooms were clean, well stocked, and spacious. The shower area has privacy curtains, which is rare in men’s rooms. Kudos. The Water Journey is a very relaxing, zen experience. You alternate between hot tubs and saunas of different types. There is an Epsom salt hot tub, and a Dead Sea salt hot tub, each kept at the perfect temperature. There is an infrared sauna, a steam sauna, and a traditional dry sauna. In between areas, you dunk yourself into a 55 degree cold tub for 30 seconds to a minute. This tub resets your body temp, for the next area. The whole process is very soothing. The staff did a GREAT JOB of cleaning and stocking. The lemon water, regular water and cucumber water were always full and the cups were picked up and replaced with fresh cups, on a regular basis. Iced lavender towels were rolled and carefully placed by the hot tubs, for use as a refreshing face cloth, while relaxing. The face towels, just like everything, were meticulously checked and restocked. No problem finding dry towels here either. The spa provides you with a very comfortable robe, flip flops and 2 towels. I noticed that the staff would regularly come through with squeegees, to keep the floor of the water journey room clean and “dry”. There was no problem with slippery conditions. There is a sitting area, with quick dry cushions, for in between cycles. You can read a magazine or just put your feet up. Finally, there is an outdoor zen garden, for a breath of fresh air. Access to the garden is just outside a private door in the Water Journey room. Overall, I would say that The Bodhi Spa is a gem of a place in lil Rhody and is worth the trip to Newport. The spa is conveniently located near all Newport attractions.
