I phoned Alera Salon & Spa for a hair appointment when my appointment elsewhere cancelled at the last minute. The staff was very friendly, and my cut was wonderful. Joelle cut my hair to the specification of the photo I showed her. She also waxed my eyebrows -- not too thin. I was very pleased with my experience. II may consider switching to Alera for future cuts and colour.

I have been a client at Alera Salon and Spa for about 5 years. My first visit was placed at random with which ever stylist was available. I never went to another salon again, after Lauren cut and highlighted my hair for the first time. My hair has never looked better, and has never been in better condition. I would recommend Lauren and Alera Salon to anyone. Alexis the Salon Manager is always wonderful at finding an appointment that accommodates my chaotic schedule of a full time student and full time employee, and is always smiling when I come in for my appointment. The atmosphere of the salon is not cold and snobby like most high scale salons can be. Everyone goes out of their way to make you feel welcome and comfortable so that you can enjoy being pampered. This Salon is hands down the best salon I have ever been to, and I would never go to another.

Trisha was excellent. My hair was a real mess of color and bad bleaching. I never expected to walk out as happy as I did. I haven’t had a color this good in a long time and it wasn’t like she was working with a blank canvas. I’ll definitely be back.

Online booking is useless. Time shows available and lets you book it but bounces back via email that the time isn’t available. Busy signal all day when trying to call. As difficult to get through as unemployment’s phone number!

Horrible, horrible customer service. I went in twice with a picture of the hair color I wanted. I was very blonde. I came out with dark roots and was very dark all over instead of the blonde I had asked for. I went in again to have it done again, both times paying full price, and again, not what I wanted. I was told too bad, they don't do refunds. I spent a ton of money at this salon and for this to be the response was very dissapointing. When speaking to them, they were very rude and refused to hear me out. Be prepared, they do not stand behind their sevice. They are very very rude.

This review is being written by my Fiancé: The absolute best experience I’ve had getting my hair done around all of Pittsburgh. My stylist was super helpful in listening to what I wanted to get done and helping me figure things out along the way. She took her time with me and I actually felt like a client and not just a customer being pushed in and out as quickly as possible. Even if you live a little bit further away, make the trip to Alera for the best hair care around. I live 30 minutes away and it’s definitely worth the trip.
