My husband purchased a day at the spa for my birthday. They only booked half of my "day at the spa" because they were overbooked in the other areas. They shouldn't book a half day at the spa in the first place if they can't do the entire thing. I went in and had my massage- it was one of the worst massages I've ever had. The room was freezing cold- then she put cold oil on my back. Now my teeth are chattering. She turned the heater on after that, but by the time it started to heat up, my massage was nearly over. Besides the temperature, my massage therapist had the lightest touch I've ever had for a massage. It was more like someone rubbing sunscreen on my back. Very disappointed. After that, had my facial- no complaints there. She was very nice and did a fine job. They could not get me in any time soon after this to do my mani/pedi which is part of the "day at the spa". So now I just want my money back for the unused portion and having a very hard time getting ahold of anyone who can refund my husband's card. Don't go here if you want even just a decent massage.

They cycle through underlings all the time don't try to seek a job here they bring you in as a co designer or cold whatever and I have seen so many young nice kids come in who has certificate of their training and get treated like crap as if they don't know anything and I was even informed that they're forced to go through these class setups before they can even get paid commission they work them minimum wage for 4 to 6 months and then drop them that's when I found out it's because of those classes they have one someone looks like they're about to get on commission they fire them and higher and a new underlaying that they can bust on minimum wage. A salon that runs like that is not a salon worth paying for. many of their main people are stuck up rude and self centered I can't stand going here anymore the massages are great but the hair stylist are horrid

SAVE YOUR TIME AND MONEY!!! This place is a total rip off. The owner of the salon “Alley” is a con artist. I walked into her salon with not only one, but several pictures of how I wanted me hair to be done. I asked her for blond highlights. Going troughout my whole head. We agreed that I would pay for each process done to my hair. I specifically asked her how many process does she think it will take. Her responds “You have really good hair and it looks like it’s going to hold the bleach & dye. You should only need one process. After the service was done she ended up charging me for 3 process plus $30 Ola Plex (that I did not ask for). Once I got home I realized once washing my hair completely out it started to look orange. I called Alley that night. She told me to come in the following day and she would take care of it. Once I got there she told me I now have to pay for the toner, and ola plex again. (Let’s not forget she charged me for a full, but gave me a partial) Once the process was done I still wasn’t satisfed. She told me I owe her $180.00 and I needed to get out of her shop now before she calls people to jump me. Fearing for my life I called the cops and disputed all charges with my bank.

Cottonwood always goes above and beyond! I have no issues with scheduling or with finding the right products for me, the staff is knowledgeable and friendly and is always willing to serve. LOVE getting my nails done here because they explain everything they are doing and why they are doing it. The shellac manicures last WEEKS. I LOVE COTTONWOOD.

Seeing all the folks note about how the salon is editing, doxing and misleading thought - and how suddenly "five star" reviews are popping up - I'd put in my limited experience from some time ago. While place is clean, we weren't happy with the service nor the value. Hopefully management changes and things improve. Fake reviews and harassment are usually a sign of worse things. Update: If groups are going to purchase a ton of fake reviews, they could at least make it a litttttle more inconspicuous lol. I'm glad that the behavior this org shows to the multiple customers giving it not so great reviews was covered in the Oklahoman.

Some of these reviews surprise me. I'm a plus sized woman that usually shows up dressed down (because spa days are my kick back days) and I've only been treated with the utmost respect. I use Cottonwood for mani/pedi and brow services. It can be tricky to get in for nail services just like any other higher end spa that is open on weekends/around holidays.

Disappointed. Check in was very unorganized, they couldn't find my reservation and the ladies were unprofessional in handling the matter. I was asked to check in 15 minutes early, which I did, but my massage was still 20 minutes behind schedule. The facility was uncomfortably cold and the music was too loud. You can hear people talking in the hall because instead of doors, the rooms are separated with curtains. I kept hoping my negative experience was just because the place was new and still working out kinks, but my massage was horrible. The masseuse didn’t introduce herself, she was the same lady that attempted to check me in, and her massage was obviously rushed. In her hurry, she got eucalyptus oil on the face towel and it got in my eyes which burned like hell. There was only one changing space and it’s the same room as the toilet, shower and lockers. I had to wait for someone to shower and get ready before I could get my clothes which added another unnecessary 15 minutes to my stay. When I finally got into the bathroom, someone had removed the lock from my locker and the door was open (I still had the key with me). Fortunately, all my belongings were still there, but water from the shower had splashed all over my clothes. Needless to say, I will not be returning or referring anyone to this facility.

I recently returned to the Essence Spa for my birthday. My cousin and I had a great experience. It's a bit pricey however, I really wanted to pamper myself. The staff were friendly and professional. The spa is clean with a touch of elegance. The masseuse was very good! This was my third visit and I always ask for the same masseuse. I love the steam room and the relaxation room. Many times after having a relaxing deep tissue massage, I almost hate having to leave and return to the hustle and bustle of the Edmond streets. But at Essence Spa, you can indulge in a Pedicure, sip tea in by the cozy fireplace, relax with a facial or take a much needed nap. I usually choose the latter

I go to Jamie to get my hair cut. She always does and amazing job, but I'm always impressed with the shampoo experience I receive too. No matter what kind of day you're having, they put you at ease and melt all cares away while they massage your scalp and you smell soothing scents. Jamie really listens to what you want and takes her time to create whatever look you're going for. I would definitely recommend her and Cottonwood!

The Spa takes you into a Zen vibe. I had a CBD Massage with Charlene and she was great. I liked particularly that after the treatment she explained to me what as treated and further explanations. WORST RUDE and UNPROFESSIONAL OWNER ! LEFT WAITING IN A ROBE FOR A MASSAGE FOR THIRTY MINUTES! After the first 15 minutes, as soon as I saw anyone in the desolate spa, I asked them to go check on my massage therapist. She came back and said someone will be right with you, but ANOTHER 15 minutes passed!! Finally I got dressed, and left the spa area, only to be harassed by the owner. She was irritated that I was upset about the no-show massage therapist. She sternly told me that I should not be upset...that the massage didn't happen because the therapist just learned of a death in her family. Something was off though, the way she delivered that news, just sounded like an excuse.... something she was using so I would be less pissed off about waiting alone in a robe for THIRTY MINUTES. I'm Sorry for anyone's loss, but surely they have company policy for handling of emergencies. Employees should notify management IMMEDIATELY if they can't fulfill their duties, (sick, injured, emergency) and then management notify their customers. If there had been a true emergency, they should have notified me, offered to reschedule and perhaps given me a discount on future service for my inconvenience. THEY left me there waiting, and waiting, and waiting, in a robe, on my lunch hour. Just, waiting, having to ask someone what was happening, and waiting more....getting more upset by the minute. THEN - after I told her that was unacceptable to leave customers waiting 30 minutes for ANY reason, that someone should have come and told me my appointment was cancelled, and turned to leave... the OWNER told me "Karma's a B**CH." I find it disgusting that an Edmond business owner actually said this to a customer. It is for you Linda, because I have told many of my friends and acquaintances, and asked them to spread the word. You have lost at least 6 customers over your handling of the situation. I will continue to speak out. While individual stylists may be good, the owner of this salon is HORRIBLY UNPROFESSIONAL!

The whole atmosphere of the spa is intimate and relaxing. My hour facial was the best I've ever enjoyed, leaving my skin soft and my whole body relaxed. The feeling lasted for two days! My manicure was just okay. I asked for clear polish, so I got a base coat and the "dazzle dry," no layer of regular polish. My nails were not buffed, so the ridges we accentuated by the shine. I will return, but for a facial.

I went to get a eyebrow wax and the lady hardly did ANYTHING to my eyebrows. Honestly a waste of time and money. I should have just tried to do my own.. Also they didn’t even have me lay down on a bed, they had me sit in a chair that you sit in when you get your hair washed in a salon. I’m pissed and will never come back.

I went in to have my legs waxed. The facility was very clean and the lady was very friendly. However, she was half way through waxing my legs before telling me not all of my hair was long enough to wax. I left with over half my legs not waxed but still had to pay as if I had my entire legs waxed. Very dissapointing. She should have informed me before starting if she wasn't able to do what I wanted.

This place is EXTREMELY confusing when you walk in. I had no idea how to get in touch with anyone or check in. I am guessing they dont take walk-ins. The suites definately feel clostraphobic. The lady who did my hair was fantastic. I got a groupon but her normal charge is very reasonable. However, she was very rough with my scalp so it was definately not relaxing. I would go back just for the fact that she did such a wonderful job.

My daughter and I had a wonderful experience at Essence Spa in Edmond - Some friends from the office I work at had sang their praises about this place. The staff helped me create a custom package of services that filled the afternoon and flowed beautifully. We began with the V-Steam Sauna which was a new experience and one that we both would absolutely do again. After a quick shower, we moved to their relaxation area which we affectionately called HEAVEN. a zen space in the middle of the treatment rooms. Both of us had massages, facials, and pedicures. My massage therapist, Shannon, was very intuitive and worked the necessary areas to perfection. The aesthetician, Ashley, helped me understand the reasoning why I was struggling with large pores ! Essencedelivered well beyond our expectations and with service fees at a reasonable price point. We highly recommend It and look forward to booking our next spa day!

If you want to go shopping before your hair cut then this will be your place, otherwise I would keep looking for something better. My hair has never looked this bad in my entire life. I chose this salon because I felt comfortable they were able to do the style I was looking for. I was VERY wrong. I've made 4 trips to the salon this month. Now my hair is fried/frizzy, 6+ inches shorter than I started, and looks awful no matter what I do to it. They even tried to style it. It looked so bad, my husband asked what was wrong with my hair when he got home. This has been the worst experience. What are they doing about it? Nothing. Will they return my phone call? Nope. I look like a Cousin It and Lt. Dan love child that likes to stick forks in the electrical socket. After spending close to $300 there and on recommend products, I will now have to crawl to a stranger at another salon for them to do damage control. I understand that results can vary. I understand that it's not always possible to get your hair to look like a picture. I did not expect perfection by any means but after the money and time spent I had hoped to make my hair look better. They failed at this. My hair looks significantly worse than what I started with. I wish I would have never stepped foot in their salon.

My stylist was late for my appointment, but I did not have to wait long. I was given a really nice arm massage during my shampoo. The haircut was fantastic and I left looking great. The quality of the haircut for the price was well worth it. The stylist also took the time to explain good ways to style my hair at home. They try very hard to push their products.

Let's address fake reviews. The responses (guessing from the owner or endorsed by the owner) that claim legitimate complaints and experiences are all fake (or an insinuation thereof in most cases) and then suddenly a myriad of "instant" 5 star reviews appear within hours. What a coincidence. The thing that is not a coincidence, that you can check yourself right now, is that when you scroll down you'll find a 3 month (typical "service" hiring schedule) period in the "6 - 7 - 8 month ago" timeframe that a series of "one liner" 5 star reviews from around 30 alleged professed customers (essentially in a row) that have reviewed basic service type businesses from all over the country and world (to validate, check their past reviews, just click their image). It's amazing that so many travel / traveled great distances to attain the "services" of this salon and these other general services across the planet and take the time to review - all with "5 stars" except for an occssional "1 star review" for a competitor of their "client" possibly or possibly a legitimate concern? Draw your own conclusions of course fairly and objectively. Now a complete instant Google name change to Ehereal Salon (r e a l l y) or is that Ehefake salon you decide, just an objective question. No need to check your database or claim I'm not a customer because I'm not and by the way, never would be by choice. I'm simply reviewing how the owner conducts business and/or condones how business is conducted and how they choose to treat well intending paying customers.

Had my hair done which was great, but walked out of the salon with hair dye on my forehead, ear and neck, plus the dye was on my sweater. The lady behind the counter should have told me as she was taking my money or Erick who did my hair should have seen it. First time here and I thought it was supposed to be a high end spa, just beware.

Could not get then to return a phone call. When I finally got ahold of somebody, she was very rude and seemed upset that she had to answer the phone. When I asked her if they participated in Locks of love, she seemed offended that I would even ask about it. When there are a few 100 options for salons in the Oklahoma City metro, customer service is about the only thing that distinguishes them anymore. I certainly will be taking my business elsewhere, and encourage everybody else to do the same.

I've been going to this spa for the past 20 years. I've always had great experiences until my last visit. My deep tissue massage was "deep" but the therapist just put a lot of weight into me and didn't bother with getting into my muscles. Its the first time I've walked out feeling way worse than when I went in. She popped a rib out of place and left bruises on my thighs. She kept running over nerves and didn't seem to notice that my body would jump- she just kept going over the same area until I said something. The entire right side of my body is messed up. My chiropractor said he's never seen me in worse condition. I've had to see him once a week since this happened (and I usually only see him every 4 weeks since I'm a dancer and want to maintain good body health). I wrote CottonWoods about it, including a photo with my bruises, but I never received a response. I even left my chiro's number in case they wanted to confirm with him. Until now, I had always received great service from this spa- but if they don't even care enough to respond to my email, I can't say I want to drive two hours to give my money to them any longer, especially if it's going to cost me more pain and money when I walk out.
