Magt rude, went for pedi, one of employees (magt) just walked up to me and said pick a color, no hi how are you nothing! Pedi was done by male student who clearly was not there to learn how to do pedicures...he was very friendly though. Nobody came over to check his work. Polish was dried up, toes were rubbing together when he finished, didnt use tie divides or wear gloves, shocked

This is the only place I come to I love it!

I would not recommend going here, the teachers are very rude, and I I feel as if I learned more from students that had been there longer than I did from the actual teachers, thank god I learned just enough to past my boards test

Honestly, if you don’t care about owning your own spa one day then do not go to school here. Thats is the ONLY thing they are good for. They offer the advanced program unlike other schools. But besides that there is nothing good I can really say about this school. From the lack of real teaching to the cheap kits they give you. This whole school was terrible. You go and take a tour and they hype everything up telling you that you’re going to learn this and that and then you get there and its the TOTAL opposite!! After your 6 weeks doing class time, they throw you out onto the spa floor and you don’t learn anything more. Yeah there’s class every wednesday but that will consist of the teacher reading straight from a powerpoint or a book the whole class. And mind you there is only one instructor for the spa side once you get onto the clinic floor. So one teacher and 25+ girls was a nightmare. None of the teachers or even the people working the main office care about you and if you even try to complain they will turn everything around on you! They just want your money and when they get it the stop caring! Its honestly a waste of money but because there aren’t many esthetics schools many students end up here. Its honestly sad because I have seen almost every student come in super excited and several weeks later they are asking themselves why they came here and if this is even the right career choice because NOBODY motivates you in that school. And don’t expect anyone to help you find a career path after school! You will be on your own! If you go here be prepared to teach yourself most of the things they are supposed to teach you. Be prepared to get talked to as if you are a child. Make a few friends if you can because it will be the only thing that keeps you in school!!

Great instructors always willing to help! Students are always friendly and have welcoming smiles!

Waited too long to be helped. When I got a haircut the first time it took an hour.. this is a joke. I won't be offering my head any longer.

Terrible school. They don’t teach the students anything, their products are far from useable and the way clients, students, and staff are treated is poorly. Over all the school needs a lot of work I would never recommend, as a school to get your further education maybe services are ok because some students are nice but the products are bad and because of lack of training you don’t really get what ur paying for. You get a pedi you still have dead skin on your feet you ask for braids you may be lucky enough to have a student who is self taught now how, even a simple flat iron or shampoo is easy to go wrong here. Eyelash extensions are terrible the techs, or students are only taught to put three lashes on and then there’re certified. The building is poorly heated in winters extremely hot in summers. And lastly if I haven’t stated enough, the lack of actual teaching makes this school a board problem. The students are janitors workers and a way for the school to make money. I would say close them down but really maybe some new rules and management the place could be a wonderful school

The Spa School is definitely a joke. I did receive my nail license from this school and they have constantly contacted me regarding signing up for Esthetic License and I would never ever attend this facility again. While in school I brought concerns to instructors and head of the program and they can careless. Students are treated as inferior. Instructors have attitudes out of this world. Also, the FIVE STAR reviews from Melissa Neal and Kelly Jo are actually instructors at the facility so take it with a grain of salt. But I will say Ms.Neal does teach manicurist well if you have the option to learn with her. You will pass the nail licensing exam but don’t expect to get any actual skills.

I took my mom there for her birthday, and for my hair done as well. The young lady who did my hair was AWESOME!!! Her name was Briann I think and she was amazing. I have "natural ethnic" hair and she talked me through everything she was doing and did an amazing job. She has a customer for life!! My hair feels like it has NEVER before, she was funny, humble, sweet, knowledgeable and made the whole visit fun. Her tip was more then half of my cost and I felt she deserved more. I want her to always do my hair even AFTER she graduates. I can't say enough about this young ladies talent and my enjoyment of being around her. I❤️U Briann.

I sent my girlfriend in to have her hair colored. She was up front and told them what she wanted...spent 240 dollars for red hair...got some dark purple mix instead...needless to say I wont fork over another dime to send a loved one there to get their hair done.

Leela Marie

I went to school there about 8-9 years ago. I love my job and where the degree has taken me in life. It just depends on the instructor. I had some great instructors and one REALLY bad instructor she made going there a bad memory but really it was just her. I have herd she is still there.

Very Thorough & a Great Value I've only been once for a hair cut & a wash, but am already planning my spa side visit. Treated myself, my daughter & my mother & the ladies we each had were great. They were meticulous & ensured the cuts were just right. Also loved that we had the opportunity to sit next to each other.

Spa school teachers and staffs are not honestly to the customers’ desire. My sister Pratiksha went to the school for making her hair straight for 6 months but after shower her hair look curly she paid 140 dollar for it. She go back to school to meet the teacher Kelly jo MC Carthy said I am sorry I can’t help. Kelly told hot humidity can’t help to stay hair straighter. Why Kelly didn’t tell her before servicing? Why they hide her about it? She is hard of hearing customer. The spa school looks only money marketing.

Laurie Strike

Got a perm today!! Absolutely love it and of course I am going back for my hair care.

Melissa Neal

The spa school is a great place to go and get services and support the learning environment☺️

I almost didn’t go after reading the reviews but I’m so glad I did! I had a great experience! My stylist, Hoda, was very knowledgeable about my hair type and texture. And her supervisor, Ms. Smith, was very thorough and helpful in her review and critique of the cut. I was so pleased with the services I scheduled an appointment for next week before I left and I plan to stop in every week when my schedule permits.

This school is a joke....don't waste your money!! One of my bridesmaids scheduled to go here...joke's on us. Started off good with our mud wraps and facial then it took them 25 minutes to get us started with our Mani/pedis and they forgot one of our people. They started the person they forgot 20 minutes late. For the Mani/pedis they had cosmetologists over doing at least 2 of our nails. I have had a Mani before and the girl did not even touch my cuticles....me and the girl who started late were still finished before the rest of the girls and they started about 5 minutes before us. The lady that was doing my nails proceeded to tell me at least I wanted just polish because she couldn't do the French tip I was having my girls do because they would turn out bad....she shouldn't be doing nails then if they can't complete all the steps and can't do basic nails. Then we go back to the waiting area and proceed to wait 15-25 minutes to get to the pedis. The same girl who didn't know how to do my nails did my pedi so you can guess how that went. Then we finally get lunch at 430...at least 2 hours after we were supposed to. Mind you we still had a scalp massage, deep condition, blow dry, and style left....all but one of us decided to skip the massage and deep condition and just do the style because the whole package took longer then we were told and we have other plans. Then they proceeded to charge us more even though we paid our deposits and had to refund our money when I realized it. Overall would never recommend this place to ANYONE EVER!!

This school is an absolute joke, they’re just trying to scam poor people into $20,000 for not being taught.I asked for a new copy of the handbook after the rule changes were made and there response was you should already have one and if you don’t ask the manager(the manger is always at the other school when we need to discuss things with her).Getting suspended for freedom of speach, told it is in the handbook and once again not given a copy.Teachers breaking not only our rules given to us but there rules. They are on there phones and they are not allowed to be the only reason they would need to be is to contact admins and we have 3 desk phones plus admin is 20 ft away.Getting there hair done on clock when there not allowed to and doing there old clients when they are not allowed to on clock. If I knew this school was going to be like this I would have never wasted my $20,000 to give to this place when they don’t teach you, they’re very rude to you, gossip to and about you. My first client on the floor was a little African American girl,I have never flat ironed or even touched natural hair and they do not teach you that In juniors or are you given a naturaled hair mannequin once in the 1200,1500,or 1800 hrs you are there.I was told I was going to be shown and they did not show me so another student taught me. So what I’m saying is don’t waste your money when you can go to a better school and be taught better

I haven't stopped crying since i left , I asked for a A line bob and got a blunt straight cut across my ear and Some detached frige in the front not even close to whaT I ASKED for the girl was so nervous and and didn't listen and the instructor did watch her like she should of , < My other friend that went did even get started the turned her pretty hair in to a rats nest and when they went to comb it out keep pulling out knots she made them stop . Please be very aware when you think of going the extra $20 is worth going else where , the two star are for my eye brows the lady did a great job she knew what she was doing and i let her do them again The first two our me the last one what i asked for , please dont laugh its hard enough not leaving my house

DO NOT GO TO THIS SCHOOL! I don’t even know where to begin. Teachers are very unprofessional and rude. They are not consistent, each teacher will tell you don’t to do things the way another teacher taught you. They gossip about the students with each other and even to the students. Assignments aren’t distributed evenly, some days you end up doing next to nothing while another student is busy all day. The kits they give you are not the greatest quality. They don’t keep track of who learned what and will assign you to do a client and a service you don’t know how to do yet, if a teacher isn’t available to help they tell you to wing it and ALWAYS ends in a disaster!! I had a friend come in, I was dying her hair from white to red, they color didn’t hold and was still white and they still made her pay full price for the service and none of the teachers could tell me what went wrong. Going to this school was the biggest mistake I ever made.

I enjoyed my time there. Unfortunately I forgotten the nice ladies name that worked on my hair, but she was sweet, patient, and cool. I'm not good with being social but I got the hair cut and cute design I asked for. She also gave me some tips on how your hair is supposed to be shaved for a fade. I will definitely come back for a back to school haircut. If I do I hope I get the same lady from today, it was fun looking at different designs for my hair.

You know.. these teachers deal with a lot and students constantly come and go with education being fast-tracked into graduation. I'm not going to get into the complaints (which I do have like everyone else) or discredit the bad reviews here. I enjoyed the majority of my time in school and Mrs. Turf was the most wonderful teacher to her students. I have never had a better teacher than her.

Kamilah Gordon

My experience was very unpleasant. I would never recommend anyone to this school. The enrollment process lacked and fell short. Their customers service from the beginning has been one of my worst experiences. It was insulting need less to say. If I had followed my gut from the first visit, I probably wouldn't be writing this review.

Carmen did my hair! We did fantasy colors and it turned out beautifully. This gal is really going places.

The instructors make everyone feel very welcomed. Everyone is friendly and kind. I feel very confident going out on my own once I graduate.

!!!LONG BUT EVERYTHING U NEED TO KNOW!!!! If i could stand outside the door and worn people about the bs this “school” brings you i would. For the first 6 weeks you are in the junior program you will be thrown a lot of information and test but after that don’t except much, well nothing at that matter. The school offers a managing license as well as certifications in machines and dermaplaning which is usually enough for people to think this school would be the “best” choice in Columbus because other schools do not offer that. Although this might be the WORST choice you could make. Almost every girl i talked to when i was in School regretted signing up and regretted making this career choice. That is how discouraging and rude everyone is. No one cares about you learning they only care about you cleaning the school for them. Esthetics girls are pushed into a small study room that holds roughly 22 people, when there is more girls on the floor than seats that is an issue. No teacher let alone ANYONE working for the salon schools group is on the same page. There is absolutely NO consistency in anything they do. I have seen many girls cry because of the way a teacher talks to them, being belittled, disrespected, and not learning is NOT what we pay all this money for. After completing the program i couldn’t be any more happy, not because i wanted to start my career but because that was the worst schooling experience i have ever had. But right when i think I’m done dealing with all the bs it just continues. After filling out paper work for name spelling for your graduation plaque you are told “make sure everything is spelled correctly this will be what’s on ur plaque” well clearly not because on my plaque and the 6 certifications i received my last name was spelled WRONG. I was told they were re ordered, just to find out they sent a manicuring license, not esthetics. After calling about that i noticed i still had not gotten the email i needed to schedule state board. Come to find out they sent it to a completely wrong email they claimed “had on file” yet it wasn’t my email?? I should have gotten the email in 3-5 business Days...ended up getting two weeks after i graduated. Just to add a cherry on top once i finally got the email sent to the correct place i am reading over the documents to make sure it’s correct...just to find out they screwed up AGAIN, Spelling my address wrong. So after my 4th attempt to get ahold of mrs McCarthy i finally receive a call back just to hear her laugh in my ear thinking this is all funny. They give you no help finding a career after school but there is no need to when you don’t wanna do anything in the esthetics field anymore. It’s truly sad this school could be a good place to go but the lack of learning, ALWAYS out of essential products, and the disrespectful teachers just makes it unbearable.

I had to get my hair colored, on 5/23/2019. The teacher helped the student, however it was not the same color that I had chosen. I asked for medium brown and my hair was black. The next day I called and tales to someone who promised me that if I come back on Saturday they will fix it, I again drove more than 20 miles and when I reached there, everyone was ignoring me including the Professor that had worked on my hair. Finally someone said my name when I answered they told me that they will shampoo and dry my hair...nothing else. I told them what I was promised and they just lied on my face saying they will be charging me extra money to correct their mistake. I am thinking If Professors have this kind of half knowledge and lying ethics what will they teach students. In turn student will have no idea how to color and will ruin other clients hair.

I would not recommend anyone to go there.

When I arrived for my tour, all the doors were locked and the guy from the nail salon next door (Mint Nail Salon), actually came out to help me get in the far left door (which was very awkward because a few people in the Spa School were just staring at me). I walked in and waited a while to get checked in. After getting checked in, I noticed that the facility was quite dated, it was poorly lit and it looked like that place hadn't been cleaned in a long time. The assistant showed me the hair floor then the classrooms where I walked past some students. I noticed their unwelcoming countenance. After the tour, the assistant and a manager put a lot of pressure on me to get my personal information (including a social security number, address and email) to enroll and I was appalled. No other beauty school asked for information like that. I absolutely was not comfortable doing that since I was just looking at my options. If you do go on a tour make sure you make it VERY CLEAR that you are just looking and getting information, nothing further. They do run background checks and pull credit reports on anyone who will give their personal information to them so make sure you know EXACTLY what you're signing! I would NOT recommend this school to anyone wanting to get licensed, I would look elsewhere. Thanks for reading this!

Samantha Jane

Absolutely awful. I went it for a simple shampoo & blow dry and almost left there in tears. I had a rather important work function that evening and thought it would be nice to have my hair done - huge mistake. After the long process (nearly two hours...for a BLOW DRY!) my hair had so much product in it, it looked like I hadn't showered in three days. After explaining to her I wanted a voluminous blow out it couldn't have been more opposite of what I asked for. I was actually late for work after going home and trying to do anything I could think of to fix it. More than that, I called to let the instructor know my dissatisfaction and she made me feel as if I were making it up entirely. Prime example of you get what you pay for! Avoid at all costs.

The Spa School is a horrible place to go to school the teachers are mean and complain of lack of pay and vacation. I started went three weeks and left it was not a pleasant experience. I would not recommend this school.
