My esthetician, Emily, is an absolute miracle worker when it comes to my skin! I started seeing her regularly every 4-6 weeks before my wedding and since my wedding see her every 4-6 months or so when I feel my face is really struggling. She also did my wedding makeup and it came out stunning - she listened to exactly what I wanted. I’ve been seeing her for almost two years now and have never been disappointed - she always listens to my concerns about my skin. Her warm personality is something I always look forward to catching up with too. I HIGHLY recommend her. I also go to Penzone’s for an occasional massage about once a year. I’ve only had one incident that I wrote honest feedback about, in which I was very upset and disappointed with my massage appointment, and no one followed up with me from customer service to help make things right. I almost stopped going to Penzone’s completely for that reason alone. I’m glad I didn’t give up on them though because I haven’t had a bad appointment since and I wouldn’t have met Emily either and for that I am super thankful.

I’m not a review kind if person, but i absolutely love this salon especially this location. I’ve been going for years for my eyebrows with Alia and nails with Zeta, I wouldn’t go to anyone else. Every other person that I’ve gone to is not only amazing but super nice. It may be pricey, but they know what they are doing and they do everything well so I don’t particularly mind. Overall, really love and recommend this place!

Thinking about TINTING YOUR EYEBROWS? Blonde and fair skin? Don’t do it here. I went to Harper to just have my brows done. She upselled me on tinting them bcz they are blonde. I told her ok as long as she didn’t make me look like a 1940s silent screen actress. It took her just seconds.. handed me the mirror and lo and behold, I could have passed for Frankenstein’s bride. When I told her it was to dark, she said don’t worry it will be a lot lighter in 2 days. It isn’t, so I returned to the scene of the crime 2 days later and am told that yes the tint is too dark, and yes my eyebrows don’ t match, but there isn’t anything that can be done. I will have to live with looking odd for at least the next 30 days and wash my face a lot and go out into the sun, but they will talk to Harper about her mistake. Do you want to chance being someone’s mistake? I recommend going somewhere else.

I like this salon but my last visit was not up to par with precvious visits. My appointment felt very rushed and I wasnt completely satisfied with my result. However, I still could recommend this salon but make sure you are getting what you are paying for! Update: I got my hair colored here earlier this month and it looks like it was never dyed. I do not recommend this salon for hair color. My hair is extremely fine and thin and I feel like all that damage was not worth the outcome whatsoever. I will not be returning to this salon in the future.

I scheduled an appointment for my daughter (she’s 16) and I to have a hair cut, color and umbra, also a facial for my daughter. Upon arriving I stated I had brought my other daughter at the last minute, (she’s 18) could they fit her in for A haircut and color. The lady greeting us said that was no problem. I stated that if it was an issue then I wanted my daughters to go instead of me. She assured me it was not a problem. My daughter and I went back for her facial and left my other daughter there for her hair. Toward the end of my daughters facial I was told they were ready for my hair. I went back, spent about 2 hours. Upon finishing I was excited to see my daughters hair. I discovered my one daughter had a trim but they had no time for an umbra and my other daughter was told she didn’t have an appointment. My daughter sat there for 4 hours without anything being done, needless to say they they were so upset. To be honest I wasn’t thrilled. My bangs were so short I looked weird. Upon leaving they asked about my service and I explained I was not happy. I told them what had happened and they stated they would take 20% off my entire bill and 20% off my daughters future hair cut. I felt that was unacceptable for the time and treatment we received but I just wanted to leave. Once home I realized 20% was not taken off my bill. I will not be returning in the future, however, I will be going to Kenneths Salon instead. Very Sad.

I got my hair cut by Carman. It was an absolutely wonderful experience. The salon over all was very comfortable and clean. Service was good and they have a large variety of drinks available (Pop, tea, water, hot chocolate, etc.). I like to have short hair but I have been avoiding getting it cut the past couple of years while since I have not found a hairstylist I trust. That being said Carman was great! She listened to what I wanted and my concerns about getting it cut short. (My hair tends to become round when it is short and I prefer a more sleek/ choppy look). Then she continued with the cut and color which was timely and efficient, and the cut overall was awesome! It is exactly what I was looking for and looks wonderful. Overall, I highly recommend Carman for anyone who wants to get a pixie or other short hair cut.

I highly recommend AJA (pronounced "Asia") for the Signature Facial. Best facial I've ever had!! Aja didn't try to force conversation so I was able to relax and totally enjoy the experience. She was very knowledgeable to make recommendations but wasn't pushy trying to pressure me to purchase products. Could not be more pleased with my experience!!

I had an appointment for hair cut .. this might be sixth time we are visiting Charles Penzone Polaris . No one ever informed me about policy that we are not supposed to take our kids who are below 9 years. Past six times nobody had informed about it .. finally I had to cancel my appointment and go to different salon. We are really disappointed about this.

I like my stylist but I don't like the lack of personal attention I get from such a large company. I would like to be able to call my stylist with a question about products, etc. I pay a lot of money to get my hair done at Penzone's and I am disappointed with the lack of personal service and corporate overbearing of all services. I don't think I've ever had a stylist smile at me except for the one who is doing my hair.

Had an appointment at 3:15pm today with a director I have been going to for 10yrs. I walked out at 4:08 as all I did was sit in the waiting room. Last appointment with this director I received a call 10 mins before my appointment that it had to be cancelled. Needless to say I will not be back, Furious as my time is precious too!

I was really looking for a pedicure for a week long vacation ! I am surprised at all the positive reviews after my terrible experience with pedicures here. The technician did not seem to know how to do nails at all. There color catalog had a very fe options and she did not know how to properly paint nails. It’s such an utter disappointment and not a bang for buck !

I've had my hair cut here for the past 12 years or so. Carly has always been consistent and able to adapt to the style I want. The massages have been average, but the facials are fantastic. I cannot say the same for other Charles Penzones, just for this one specifically. Pay attention to who you get at which location.

This was my first and last time going to Charles Penzone. I was scheduled for a 15 minute eyebrow appointment and within 2 minutes of checking in a woman, without introducing herself informs me that I could not take my daughter back to the room with me. She's 22 months and 21lbs. She explained the company policy but "Because of the liability" and "there is no room for her in the room" she couldn't let me take her back with me. Even though she offered or "the girls" to watch my daughter in the lobby.. I would never let a stranger watch my child let alone at a place I've never been. Where's the liability there? I've heard negative stories in the past about CP but my friend referred me and I trusted her judgement, but I won't be back.

Lunda is a massage therapist at the Polaris Penzone and I booked a Deep Tissue massage with her. This was my first time meeting her and she was so, so sweet! She made me feel very comfortable and welcome. She even brought me a robe and a water before I jumped in their shower to wash off some of the oils. I definitely recommend her 100%!!

I had a young lady do a dye job & cut, it was the absolute best job I have ever had done! I'm actually calling soon to make an appointment this month. Fingers crossed whoever she is, that she's still there. However, I had a Charles Penzone employee(at the time, she has since been fired) offer to come to my home to do my hair for a fraction of the price. ZERO stars for her. She jacked my hair up bad! Was crazy when I pointed it all out. She was referred to me by family. Please everyone, go to the salon! They will make it right if you're not happy. It's not worth the headaches of getting it done cheaper at your home.

They always treat you like you are special here. I had the arch wax and the premiere facial. They eyebrows are perfect and my skin looks and feels wonderful. The spa itself is calm and soothing. The staff, for the most part is great. Unfortunately, the front desk clerk was unable to tell me the difference between the two facials, so that was disappointing. Also, even though the Polaris salon is open on Sunday, the customer service center isn't open so in order to speak with the salon, you have to go there to do so.

I was charged $200 for a “balayage” that was not a balayage whatsoever. Instead, I was given partial blonde streaky highlights on the under-layer of my deep brunette hair… and I was robbed about $100 for the discrepancy in the service. What makes it worse, is that I came very prepared with photos of exactly what I wanted, and the stylist said she could absolutely do it. I trusted her since I chose to pay top dollar for one of the highest levels of stylists. Fail. Being very unsatisfied with this visit, and being let down by the stylist, I called the salon to get my hair fixed. The next appointment sounded very promising, and the receptionist told me they could correct what was done wrong free of charge. So I went into my SECOND appointment to lighten up my hair, and was rudely greeted by my new stylist. I figured she was being so blatantly rude because I was not paying for her service (even though I intended on tipping her afterward.) She combatted everything I showed her/told her; so much to the point that it literally brought me to tears in her chair. She was incredibly rude and demeaning, and made me feel terrible the whole time that I didn’t like the result of the service I had prior to seeing her. I have never felt so uneasy and uncomfortable in a salon as I did today with her. AGAIN, I left with my hair looking nothing like what I wanted it to look like; not even similar. I will absolutely never bring my service back to this salon and will deter any and all of my friends/family. Way overpriced, and they failed to deliver the simple service I went in for twice. Thanks for a waste of time and waste of money, Charles Penzone!

Hello I'm Karen Strickland. My friend Sarah gearhart and I booked a complete spa day for her birthday in February. We went to the Polaris one and it was the worst experience I've ever had at a salon. I just figured out how to leave a review so here it goes. Firstly they had another woman and I mixed up for a facial because we share the same first name so halfway through the facial they yanked me out the room and gave the right person her facial. Then the massage was the best part for me but the lady cut my friends massage 20 minutes early which was supposed to of been an hour long. But the lady who did mine was the best ever! I'd definitely go back just to see her because she was great and best personality there out of EVERYONE. Then we went to get our hair done. My friend had 2 1/2 to 3 hr block for our hair. This was the worst part of it all. She wanted pink and purple highlights but the lady told her she couldn't do that and wasn't confident in doing it. So she then asked for a super bright red which the lady then said ok she could do that but instead my friend ended up with Orange Ariel little mermaid hair color. Then I get back to get my hair done I asked for black and bright red highlights the lady told me she wouldn't do it because it'd take up to 4-6 hrs to do my hair and I had to pick something else. Which I knew it didn't take that long to do. Then I asked for pink and black she told me no they don't do those fun colors although I saw a lady getting blonde and pink the next booth over so I then just asked for blonde and Carmel and chestnut highlights and was undecided still and the lady told me I had to hurry up and decide I had 30 minutes to decide and now I have 28 minutes because she had a 4pm appointment although I was blocked for her for 2 1/2 hrs with her. She then just put whatever colors she wanted in my hair and shoved me up a dryer telling me that she'll be back later. She then takes her 4pm appointment finish them comes back for me washes me out and when she cut my hair it was super uneven to the point of where I cried in the middle of red lobster because I was embarrassed sitting at dinner and my friends hair was very uneven too. We had to sit in a corner away from everyone because we were very embarrassed very upset with how we were treated and done after spending almost $500 there. They were rude and treated us like we weren't worthy enough to be there or something. I just don't understand how you asked us to spend that much money there to be treated without respect and we tipped everyone on top of it. The worst part is when we were checking out my friend was complaining to the cashiers then the manager walks up to cash other people out but never once acknowledged us or offered a discount or NOTHING. Then to top it off they were trying to over charge me for my hair when I really walked in and out looking the same. Needless to say I went to Kenneths 2 weeks later and they gave me the hair color I wanted and fixed my cut. But I'm just disappointed I got treated so rudely and NOTHING was done or offered to me to fix it. This store was highly talked up but ended up being less then what I was told it was. I doubt I'll ever try this salon again because of how rude everyone was towards us and the people who did our hair obviously has no clue of what they're doing or knows that you offer the colors we requested because we looked up to see if they did the colors online which we saw them. But very disappointed in my experience. I also called the next day to speak with a manager and was told she'd call me back but never received the call back either. Very unprofessional.

When I booked online I saw a starting price of $134 for a level 2 designer. Pricey but I thought it'd be worth it. My price did not include a cut and I got one but I did not think it would be such a difference in price. My stylist was great. Fun, personable, and knowledgeable. Pricing just too vague for me. I ended up with $212 without tip included and I left feeling like I was punched in the stomach. $252 later... not worth it for me.

The previous client was late for her appointment so my appointment ran late. That was no problem as I had plenty of time. What annoyed me was that the receptionist made no attempt to let me know about this or to approach me and to say something like, "sorry you have been kept waiting. I will check to see what is happening about your appointment." I had to ask her to check myself. Also I asked this receptionist for a soda. She poured the drink and gave me the cup. She didn't wait for the foam to dissipate and I ended up with half a cup of soda. I had to point this out to her and then she filled the cup for me. It seems that Penzone's needs to put a little more effort into training its new batch of receptionists. I have never experienced this before at Penzone's where the service is usually excellent.

Update 2: A senior stylist contacted me and brought me in to fix this disaster. They tried making excuses as to why this must have been misunderstood as what I wanted. No, no, it's just really bad work. Overall, the more experienced stylist was able to fix most of the problem and return my hair to a normal looking color. Update: Nobody has bothered to reach out despite the response. The place is lovely and the process of booking and checking in was easy and welcoming. Unfortunately, I'm very unhappy with my results. Color is way off and full of copper oranges, yellow tones and multiple other colors. It screams 1982 trailer park highlights. Maybe I should've asked more questions, but I trust the pro to explain in depth what I should expect. I certainly didn't want or expect this and I even went back for a fix. My cut is equally as horrible and not at all what was discussed. My ends look hacked. After spending nearly $200 for a more experienced stylist (Nikki) I'm going to have to go to someone else to fix this disaster. Never again!

I was really excited to go get my hair done from this salon because my husband goes to the barber shop that is owned by the same company and they are amazing. I got like 5 pictures off of Pinterest of what cut I wanted. All the pictures had every angle manageable and when I got there I had to wait for a half an hour and all the front staff ask everyone else if they needed any thing like water or drink or anything. They didn’t ask me if I wanted any of that. When I showed my stylist the pictures she said that she was excited to do it. I thought that it would be great. I showed the pictures to her about 3 times doing the cut. She just kept on cutting and cutting and cutting off my hair and it looks nothing like the pictures. By the time I could stop her it was to late. I actually was so upset to the point that I didn’t want her to finish so I left and had to come home and try to finish it myself. I went to cosmetology school and i had to try and fix it myself. That is not why I went to the salon for me to have to come home and fix it myself. If I wanted it to be a disaster I would of had my husband cut my hair. Stylist need to have more training when it comes to a person showing a picture of a hairstyle, because people bring in pictures all the time. They need to be able to recreate that same look from the picture. She was not very gentle either. I just had a baby and I really wanted to be able to have a great experience, have a relaxing time because I never get that has a mom, look great and come away looking somewhat like the picture that I showed her 3 different times. I hope that the costumer service will be better IF I come back next time.

It’s hard for me to give Penzone’s Salon a one star rating because I have been going to this salon for 11 years now and have had nothing but great experiences at the Gahanna location where I regularly get my hair done but the quality that I received at the Polaris location during a two hour mani/ pedi was not to the Penzone’s level of high standards that I expect. The day before the mani/pedi I was at this location for an hour long massage for my birthday with Natasha which was fabulous but unfortunately the same level of service was not present the following day. I came in for a mani/pedi to prepare for an upcoming beach trip in which I made sure I did gel polish for both services so it would last. The nail professional Debbrynne was very sweet and enjoyable to talk with during the services but it was not to the particular level of attention and pampering that I am accustomed to for these particular services at Penzone’s. I didn’t say anything because I thought it’s not that big of deal but now I know for my next mani/pedi. However, when I got home after two hours in the salon for these services I noticed that my gel nail polish on both my hands and toes were peeling and looked bubbled. After further inspecting my pedicure, the polish from my big toenail had actually lifted completely off like it was not cured all the way. I can overlook a mediocre service but when I’m spending not only my money but that much of my time to receive a service that doesn’t even last literally an hour is extremely upsetting. I think I’m more so frustrated with the time and money that I put into a service that is supposed to last at least through my vacation but didn’t even last an hour because it wasn’t done properly. When you go to a Penzone’s salon you pay for quality in which I typically receive but in this particular incident it has really lessened my opinion of the salon and has me considering only having my hair services done there.

Loved Pricilla. Did not love the check in system - I checked in 15 mins early for my 11:15 am appointment. At 11:30 am I was still waiting so I went to the desk to see if my name was entered. Nope, it was not. I even got their Done message when I checked in. Also, while she did a magnificent job on my hair and I love the color, the Penzone price for the stylist is too much for my budget.

I love coming to Charles Penzone to be pampered and walk out with beautiful, stylish hair. However, I was dissapointed this time because I had scheduled my appointment for a cut and style and my hair designer acted as if i was inconveniencing her when I asked if she could simply put a couple waves in my hair for the style I wanted. She did not make any conversation with me throughout the whole appointment and especially never asked me how I would like my hair styled after it was washed and dryed. She just immediately went to plainly straighten it and when I asked if she would mind doing some waves, she didn't say anything at first and then I added "if you have time..." to which she replied "umm yeah I could add a couple..". It was unfortunate that what i paid for (a cut and STYLE) seemed to be such a hassle for my hair designer. Also, not a huge deal but when she was washing my hair the water was also cold and never did she ask me if the water temperature was to my liking.

UPDATED . . a manager (Miranda) reached out to me very quickly and was very apologetic regarding my experience at Penzones. She offered to make it right and schedule another custom facial ay any LOCATION if I wanted. I undestand that mistakes happen but the way she handled this issue displayed a level of customer service that I wish all businesses embraced. If I use Penzones again it will be because of Miranda. My hour and 15min facial (scheduled at the gahanna location)was more like 45min. When I asked about it they said the first 15 minutes was for me to get ready and to discuss my concerns ... which is fine but she was 10 minutes late getting me for my appointment (which no one apologized for) and then I had to fill out paperwork upstairs and then we talked about my concerns after I changed . . .it was well after 12pm by then. My appointment was at 1145am (facial started after 12pm) I was downstairs and paid up before 1pm (the manager can check my credit card receipt if they want to verify) I had never had a facial there and I wont waste my $ there again. Honestly, it was not that great or thorough . . . . I asked if i could wash my face to get the makeup off but she said she would do that. . . after i left and saw myself in the mirror in my car I had mascara under my eyes and I wiped my face to find I still had foundation on. Kenneths was booked up and I figured I would give Penzones a shot . . . won't happen again However, my friend I brought with me for her bday said the massage was very nice .. . which i bet it was, she was taken back before me to her room (so on time) and came down after me.

I’ve been going here for years and had the worst experience the last time. I went to a different designer, Hillary colored my hair and didn’t cover all the grey. I didn’t even have her cut it and I asked her to re-do those areas and she argued with me then finally said in an angry voice, fine I’ll do it but I’m booked up someone else will have to finish. She told the girl to dry my hair under the dryer. I said can you just give me a place to blow dry it mysel? They did so I finished my hair myself. I know she was busy but I was treated horribly.

I had been looking for a massage therapist at the end of 2017 and found her (Wray Jean!). I tried almost every place in Polaris/Powell even Dublin (too far) and feel that she is one of the best massage therapists I have ever had! Go see her if you need a refreshing, top notch massage!

She cut off WAY more than she said she would, she left a spot of dye on my cheek and all along my hair line AND I gave her this photo of the style and came out looking like I went to a Saturday's. I would rate the massage a 5+ and the facial a 5+ (Harper is amazing) but I would not give the nail tech a 1. She was horrible, complained and had an attitude the whole time. She was so mad that she couldn’t get a better discount on a new car. She made a mess of my toes she had polish all over my toes and the heater wasn’t working right for the pedicure. Instead of changing me to a different chair she put my feet in cold water then turned on scalding hot water in the bowl with my feet in the bowl. The hostess was not good either. I never knew what to expect next. I won’t be back.

I called this past Friday on Dec 28th to make a pedicure appointment for my mom and wife for Dec 29th. I tried for the Dublin location but they had no openings. So I was directed to the Polaris location. I scheduled 2 Premier Custom Pedicures at 230 PM for each of them. They told me the salon was nice but that's basically where the compliments stopped. They both stated it was the worst pedicure they've ever recieved. Both technicians were inattentive to both of them and they were very very rushed through. Both techs stated how behind they were and it showed. I was told on the phone that the techs would take care of my wife and mom and make their afternoon together special. It was not. On top of the fact that the bill was nearly $160 it just added insult to injury. Such a waste of time and money for a salon that supposedly is the best in the area. Pretty said when 2 women state they'd rather go to a salon in an outlet mall than here. Both stated they would never return to a Penzone Salon again. I had the pleasure of talking to Nancy on the phone. A very professional female who took time out of her day to talk to me regarding my wife and moms experience. She offered to allow the salon to make a better experience for them a next time. It's because of people like Nancy who take time out of their day to help out a customer. And because of this would try the salon again.

Had another wonderful day at salon. I booked for the first time, the Vichy treatment. Diane was excellent. I told her if she could do such a great massage while spending an hour in the "rain" massaging all my tension, I can only imagine how great a regular massage would be. Of course next month my plan with Diane. Charlotte took care of my skin, very experienced. I needed a cleaner for home and she recommended the best product for my skin type. I have used it twice and my skin feels and looks great. I had an event to go to afterwards and the front desk took me to the women's lounge area to change and get ready. And as I drove down the road, I realized I forget my reading glasses in the robe pocket. I called the main booking center and they called the salon. The Manager went through all the robes that had already been fiscarded and found them. They were at the front desk when I went back. Looking forward to my next visit.

I wanted to give this 5 stars because the girl that serviced my pedicure was such a sweetheart and I really liked her. However, I really was looking forward to a "foot and calf massage with hot stones, to penetrate the muscle and promote relaxation." While I did receive somewhat of a foot massage, it was very light and quick when the lotion was applied. I usually do my nails myself, but wanted to treat myself, so I paid over $100 for the Premier Pedicure once they added in the "Paraffin Gloves?" and I tipped. Again, she was very nice and sweet, and my toenails look great. I just wish that I would have received the Hot Stone Calf and Foot Massage that was described online for the Premier service. Update: 1/29/19 - Penzone responded to my original review and made it seem like they couldn't find me in their system (Tina Eden - Kristina Eden), so they asked me to email them directly on their site. I did so that exact day, over a month ago, gave my information and all of the details about this review and being asked to email them. I have NEVER received a response back from them. Not one word at all, which makes me angry because I get my hair done with this company as well as other items here and there. I didn't expect them to respond to my rating, which was fine except for the fact that I was made to look like a fake review based off of their response that they couldn't find me in their system. I just wanted to set the record straight and say that now I feel even worse about the company not being able to respond to me at all when I was asked to reach out to them. I honestly leave credit where credit is due, good or bad, and I felt like my review was honest and even respectful, and now I just have a bad taste in my mouth and will question returning for any service at all... :(

Tanna is very knowledgeable about hair types and current trends. I appreciate her advice. My hair is curly but sometimes I like to blow it out and so she considers both when making decisions about the cut. Tanna has guided me successfully through short and long styles. She is also prompt and a great listener! Highly recommend.

Great gal answered the phone and helped me setup a spa day. I received a quick massage (express, I think it’s called) from Wray Jean. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND W.J. & cannot say enough kind things about her demeanor, techniques, and helpfulness. Next I had a facial with Aja—she’s cool and helped me pick a facial that was more in tune with what I was looking for (organic). My issue with this facial process was not with her but the facility —I was at the Polaris pop-up location beside Dublin location while Polaris is being remodeled— and the sheets were stained and pretty gross. Aja did have a cool soundtrack though of rain and thunder sounds. She was highly knowledgeable. Then I had a haircut/cleanup with Zara. I wanted a trim and dead ends/split ends removed and a thermal styling and that’s exactly what I got. I recommend her as she’s knowledgeable and friendly but at the end of my session mentioned that I had a few grey hairs. I’m not offended, but I was confused—was there a point? Was she suggesting I need color? I don’t know and I call it out here only because it seemed totally random. But okay. This space was darkish and kind of tight—(Polaris being remodeled for more modern and not so small in space). Nails with Zeta was the final service. She did some really cute nail art and a gel mani for Fall. Love the pumpkin design and conversation from her. She also made sure the gel coverage was appropriate and setting several times. This nail space, to no fault of hers, was kind of dim, dingy, and outdated—which again—no one’s fault as Polaris is being remodeled. Will definitely return and am excited to see the reopened Polaris location.

The staff and services are great. My only issue is that a one hour massage is never fully one hour. They put an hour and 15 minutes on the website to account for time to change and fill out the necessary paperwork (paperwork for a massage?! - yes). However a 60 minute massage has always ended up being only 45 minutes, regardless of the technician.

Khon is the best nail technician ever! Her work is amazing!!! However, I am disappointed in Penzone management. I received and email for 25% off for Polaris customers for their inconvenience going to Dublin. The offer was only good for 8 days and I was not in need of having my nails done yet. Each of your regular Polaris customers should be offered at least a one time discount for the inconvenience at the convenience of the customer. Thank you!
