If I could have given this spa a Zero, I would have. I signed a contract with this spa for three years. I thought it would be a perfect fit for me an my entire family. They have every loop hole in the book to avoid letting you out of your contract. My 14 year was suppose to be free with the military promotion they were running at the time but there was a yearly maintenance fee. I was disappointed I would have to pay for 3 years of depressing service but I added it as "One of life's lessons." I paid on time ( automatic draft) for 3 consecutive years. I paid for 3 individuals and the fourth, supposedly free. My contract ended this past July 2018. I will also say, I was so disguised my family and I only went to this gym for apprx. 6 months out of the entire 3 years. I really did not like this spa. I received a call today saying, my 14 year old (the free individual out of the 4 of us) would be sent to collects for a $39 maintenance fee, which no one sent an invoice concerning. I felt it was my duty to any seeking a gym family because it is your family if you sign a 3 year contract, to know they are crooks. UPDATE: I received a bill today, after I requested it this week. I will remind you I never received anything until I got a call on September 27, 2018. I read the post about them not honoring gift certificates, however; I see that honor getting every dime they can from you. I will be sending a payment, certified mail because I don"t trust these people. To think, we have excellent credit and some could submit something ( a bill) to collects with notifying you by mail or email of the debt. Well I have WARNED everyone!!!!! READ the Invoice for yourselves.

This was my first time going go the purdue location, I usually always go to eutaw. So when I called to make an appointment for a wax & they didn't ask for which location like they always do, I assumed they just looked at my appointment history & seen i was a eutaw customer.. well no. I arrived at eutaw @1 for my appointment which they then tell me I was scheduled at purdue and that caused me to be late getting to purdue about 12minutes. I go up to change & when I came out the lady from the front desk told me I would now have to wait till 3:45 to be serviced because I was late!! Which didn't make sense but I waited because I had no other plans that day & i lived about an hour away. After being there for a couple of hours I get up to pour myself a cup of coffee & I notice not one but TWO roaches (WHICH I DID GET VIDEO OF), shortly after the lady doing my wax came and got me, she seemed nice & fast but she left ALOT of stubble which is ridiculous for the price of the service. I'll be sure I am always scheduled at eutaw for now on

I DO NOT recommend this Spa AT ALL. A dear friend of mine purchased a gift certificate from the European Day Spa in December 2016. I was unable to use the gift certificate until the Summer of 2018 (I believe) in which I called to try and schedule an appointment and could not due to there being a fire in the building. I called today (9/18/2019) and spoke to the extremely rude, nasty, unprofessional, and incompetent owner/manager Natalie Spencer (Frances). She informed me that after a change in management/ownership the company’s policy only accepts gift certificates from 2017, 2018, and 2019. I expressed my extreme disappointment in their “new” policy and asked was there some sort of accommodation or policy in place to address issues similar to mine and she very rudely and unempathetically stated no there’s nothing that can be done. As the manager/owner of the company she most definitely could have done something to rectify this issue, Natalie Spencer (Frances) just has zero empathy, morality, and integrity to do so. After ending the phone call, I decided I was going to leave a review on my unfortunate experience over the phone with her and also report her business to the BBB, when calling back she had another employee answer the phone as she was reluctant to speak to me again. I asked her for her name in which she only provided her first name. I asked for her last name and she would not provide it (thankfully she did a radio interview about 11 months back on Fayetteville’s AM 640 where her last was provided) and stated that she was not a member of the BBB and that I did not need her last name. After reading through the complaints filed against this company it became apparent that they have done this to a number of individuals, probably more than have actually reported or submitted reviews. This is very sad and very unethical, because you have taken over a business (kept the name and logo) which had an established clientele and are not willing to make accommodations for its existing customers, which to me seems like you did not have to put forth much effort at all in this business. You could have provided some sort of discount on services for individuals in my similar situation, however, you chose not to, which to me seems as if your company is already in financial hardship. A true business owner would do whatever it takes to ensure the satisfaction of their customers even if having to suffer some sort of temporary financial loss in order to gain financial longevity with that customer. As a manager/owner it is vital that he/she has the interpersonal skills necessary to interact with customers which Natalie Spencer (Frances) DOES NOT. I look forward to new management/ownership at the Renaissance European Day Spa because the current one lacks all the skills necessary to run a successful business. If not, Natalie Spencer (Frances) I hope this was a teachable moment for you in which you’re able to improve on your skills as a business woman.

While in the relaxation area which is meant to have a tranquil environment, I could hear the staff's conversation regarding their personal lives and other clients. Additionally, my appointment was changed from the date/time I clearly specified to another date/time without my approval or knowledge of it being changed.

I have a $200 gift card that they wont accept. They claim that they just bought the name of the company and not the assets, but have you ever heard of that? I haven't... The owner is trying to con everyone out of their money. They had to move from the Elm street location because they couldn't pay their rent.. Really poor way to run a business if you ask me. The owner is rude, vulgar, and quite racist. I will never go here again.

Do not get your eyebrows microbladed here!!! The girl just started doing microblading in January and has no idea what she’s doing and is charging the price of $350. The before and after photos posted on this page are NOT her before and afters. Very misleading!! When I scheduled the appointment initially I told them that I wanted to book with the person that posted those pictures and no one said anything. Was told that I could come in for a THIRD appointment to have the redone because they look exactly the same as before. This procedure is very time consuming and a bit uncomfortable. What full time working mom of 3 has time to have to keep coming in for something to have the same outcome?! I have spent quite a bit of money at renaissance between this and several other services I’ve had done, but I will not ever revisit due to them not offering a better solution and due to the managers attitude. Thank you so much for all of the contests you hold. It may not seem like a life-changing thing to your company, but in these people's lives, it can be. Not many businesses give back to the average person any more, and especially not on such a large scale. I won the haircut contest recently and I've been needing one for so long, but as a busy mother and full-time college student and military wife with a single income, I had yet to be able to justify spending the money on a hair cut. (I know, crazy, right?) winning that free cut helped me make a lot of changes in my life. It showed me that just because I'm a mom it doesn't mean I have to always put myself last. My kids will always come first, but generally, by the end of the day there was no time, Money, or energy left over for me. When katelynn spun me around in the chair and I saw my new style for the first time, it reminded me of who I used to be. A young woman who put time and effort into her appearance. Who carried herself with pride and confidence, not a woman who wears faded t-shirts and jeans and flip flops everywhere she goes with her hair piled on top of her head in a half pony tail half loopy thingy. That day was the first day of the rest of my new life. Don't get me wrong, some days I still sport the exhausted mom look but those days are few and far between. I'm back to being the hip, energetic, young, happy, friendly ME! And I have The Renaissance European Day Spa to thank for it! So to sum this up... Thank you!

I've gotten my hair colored a lot of places, and this is hands down the best. I didn't think I'd find anywhere I liked better than the stylist I saw in Raleigh who moved away and I did. The stylist I saw, Trish, was great with color. She hit exactly the mix I wanted the first time (and I'm picky), but they also have a 2 week window where they'll adjust if it's not what you were after. I had a crooked cut from the last place I went to, and Trish was able to fix it so it was a little more natural and also outlined how to adjust it as it grows out. There are complimentary beverages while you get your hair done. I mostly only drink water, but you can get other drinks (even smoothies) if you want. I found the salon area to be very bright and comfortable. This spa is pretty ADA friendly with one caveat- they have a great ramp for scooters/wheelchairs but the entry to the ramp can be a little tight if people are parked in that spot because of where the railing starts. It's doable, just tight. The prices are a little higher than if you went to Fantastic Sam's or something, but they're right on par with non-mall salons. I had all-over color in my very long, thick hair for about $140. I'm definitely going back here, higher prices and all. There is a VIP club you can join that lowers the price if you're going to go back a lot. It's paid, but looks worth it. I'll be joining that my next visit.

Had a fantastic massage yesterday at the Renaissance Purdue location! (Deep tissue massage with Diana) She was very professional & courteous. I waited approximately 5 minutes in the waiting area, and she called me back right on time. We started right on time. Very relaxed & calm environment. She was very precise with her pressure (strong hands & arms). I felt like a different person walking out of there!

If I could give these guys "0" stars I would. DO NOT SIGN their contract, it's overpriced and hard to get out of. Everything is done digitally included a trainer too. Come to find out after I read my contract I couldn't get out of it unless I have orders since I'm military that I'm leaving the area or live 25 miles out. The trainer too was for 12 months, I specifically said I only needed for 3 months. They knew but processed everything and not letting me know that important detail. The whole time the contract was on their computer screen while they brief me and told me to sign digitally. After I started questioning about the contract since I was going TDY they didn't respond to my email I had to call the corporate office to get answers. Had to pay $447.00 to get out of the contract for the trainer. I wouldn't go with a contract again and not trust them until I have the full details and a hard copy of the contract in front of me before signing.

I had Melissa for an hour and a half theraputic aromatherapy message. This was my first time using this spa and I was very nervous. Melissa made me feel right at home and did an amazing job! The best place to get a massage in all of Fayetteville! I have tried many other places in the area and they've all ranged from 1 to 4 stars but never have I found a place that warranted 5. The ambience is fabulous and helps you forget the stresses of the world around you. All the workers are very professional and courteous and their food is delicious. I only received a massage here twice so far, but I will update as I continue to try different services. Fair warning, it is pricey here, but it is worth every penny.

I used to love this place but after yesterday I found out that they merged and have a new owner. Which had a attitude and was pretty much calling me a liar about me not getting an email. Because it was sent out to 30k people. That’s fine but I never got one. No need for an attitude. Second thing is that they supposedly fixed my account last time.... nope they didn’t so they had to fix my account this time. Third thing was I made an appointment a month prior to the appointment and booked with specific person.... never received email or phone call that there was a merge or that the lady wasn’t available for my massage. Caught off guard upon arrival. Then for my package they never booked me for my lunch! Forth thing was while I was eating a bug flew into my salad. I lost my appetite! The receptionist was a lot nicer than the owner. She offered a replacement and I declined because I didn’t want to chance anything. But least he could have done was rod the attitude and not assume I was lying about receiving and email. I hope this place really turns around a bit. I used to love that place but if it continues with the horrible service. I’m going to have to go somewhere else. Poor customer service from new owner.

I have been getting my legs waxed for many years. I went in last week and the lady that did my waxing ended up bruising me all over and on one of my thighs are completely covered with scabs. I have been unable to wear pants for a week. She seemed to be inexperienced as she did not hold my skin taught which brought on all the bruising. It took over 4 days for the manager to call me back. When the manager called me back she told me it was possibly the change in my body because of my age or medication I might be on. For the record I am 32 and I am on no medication. I have cancelled all the rest of my appoints due to the fact that management seemed not to care. I can understand if someone is not experienced (You need to start somewhere). However, my age is not the culprit when it comes to getting a bad wax.

Not what it used to be. Took away the 4 free lunches, 2 free manicures, 4 free drink vouchers, and 25 dollar gift certificates from their VIP program. Now they offer you a percentage off of ONE service after spending a couple THOUSAND points. They try claiming this point system is better than the one before, but I strongly disagree. I used to book my services around all the free stuff I got just for being a VIP. Now, I rarely go. I am going to continue getting facials, bc quite frankly, Leslie is great. They want you to pay 150 $ just to be a VIP member too, so, not worth it to me to spend that just to get a percentage off ONE service. I always prefer the eutaw location and will never frequent the Purdue location again. Too out of the way for just one service and when I asked for a smoothie to go, as I hadn't had A THING for my services, so why not enjoy a smoothie omw home? That'll be 3 bucks. Pfft. And I was a VIP. when my membership expired, I didn't renew. Not worth the money anymore. Whoever has changed this is a greedy person and changed it to help the business make money, instead of being welcoming to clients with a couple small free giveaways for dropping a few hundred bucks for services. Bring back the old VIP program, THEN you'll peak my interest. They now give you 10 bucks off TO GIVE TO A FRIEND. Not for me to save money, but for me to send someone ELSE in there to spend money Nah. No thanks.***edit---won't even be doing facials anymore----this place deserves NONE of my money. Put too bad a taste n my mouth to continue doing business here.

I purchased a gift certificate for my sister for a "signature pedicure in September". She recently made an appointment to receive the service. After receiving a "regular pedicure" she was informed that there was no gift certificate and she had to pay for the service. Once informed (same day) I immediately called the spa and asked to speak with a manager. I spoke with an employee (not sure if was manager) and was informed that a mistake was made on their end they would credit my sister for the $60.00 pedicure the the remaining monies would be used at a future date (are you kidding me). I said that this would not be acceptable and I wanted every penny I paid. I paid for a service which she never received. They agree to refund my monies (which has happened). I will never use their service again, nor accept a gift certificate of any kind from this spa. Service is why you pay extra for what would normally be a $25 pedicure. I believe that there is great disparity in how customers are treated as indicated by my sister by her experience with this business.

I am also a VIP client, and I have occasionally had to wait briefly past my appointment time. Unless you are in a rush, enjoy the lovely wait areas. I always enjoy my champagne with strawberry and the refreshments provided. I love Shannon (my amazing colorist!!) and the masseuses are all Ah. Maze.ING!! If Shannon ever left, I would BAWL!! The only time I have been annoyed was when I requested a trim, a TRIM and was hit with a $40 extra--not the stylist's fault, it was mine, but I was just annoyed at a pretty steep price. So, ask about prices ahead of time LOL or face a shock at the register. The wax services are also quick and thorough :) All the service personnel are kind, except the Eutaw location's waiting area people need to work on approachability and seeming interested in making clients happy while they wait--the Purdue people treat you like a close friend and really seem to go that extra step to make you happy. If you aren't happy, by all means report it then and there and don't be rude... I have seen some people with the most atrocious attitudes because of the prices or reservations are booked. Don't be rude to the reception ladies if you are more than 15 minutes late on a Saturday and you lost your appointment slot. Don't get an attitude when you asked for a color and it comes out to $100+. what you pay for is definitely what you get here. If you want luxury at any cost, Renaissance. Otherwise, try some other nice places in Fayetteville :) I LOVE RENAISSANCE!!

The operator's who handled our scheduled services were great - top of the line. We enjoyed it. However, I would expect that if I have a VIP membership, they would have known are names and been expecting us as we came through the door and greeted us by name. We were ignored in the crowded eating area, our drinks were given to others who got there after us and we were left sitting there until we didn't have time to eat our lunch in a relaxed way. The menu had changed as did the quality of the ingredients. The beautiful fountains and semi-outdoor sitting area is gone. Also of note, although the text said Purdue, I didn't know what that meant and I went to the place where I bought our memberships less than a month ago. We were surprised. The people at that SPA were really nice to us even if we were now in the wrong place. As noted, the operators who did our massage and facials were so great, we will go back for them with renewed expectations that we won't feel pampered and special when we go. I averaged the overall experience score with the operator score to arrive at a 3 for an overall score!

Shady owners, shady managers, shady staff... The eucalyptus isn’t imported from Australia, in case you believed that pitch. Ever wonder why the turnover rate for their staff is so high? OSHA standards are disregarded by the cleaning lady. For example: the hot tubs should be fully drained daily. I watched one of the cleaning ladies (multiple times) drain the tub by a few inches, spray the cleaning solution onto the grime line, wipe it, and fill the tub back up. Talk about vaginal issues for your customers, and chemical exposures from that spray going into the water... Make sure the front desk girl is certified to operate the tanning beds before you sign up for tanning here or have her start your bed, most of the time they aren’t certified (that’s illegal by the way). Sexual harassment/assault towards staff is overlooked and kept behind closed doors. One of the front desk girls was groped by a male trainer here during her last week, and no he wasn’t confronted once by a manager. Speaking of the trainers, keep an eye out for your bank account. Many occasions, trainers have committed fraud here and been paid for “training” members on days the members didn’t even walk through the doors. Run far away from this place, this is just the beginning of the list of things wrong in this “facility.” Then again, do you really expect more out of Fayetteville?

I've gone to the Purdue location multiple times now and quality of service truly depends upon what day of the week you go. I don't recommend Fridays or Saturdays. If you are looking for a relaxing spa experience you will NOT find it on those days. The spa lounge is too small and too busy. With the blender whirring constantly in the kitchen which is immediately next to the "relaxation" area you will NOT be able to relax. Even with the no cell phone policy, people still bring their phones and chat it up loudly like it was a salon. Had to put my head down and put my fingers in my ears at one point because it was so ridiculously noisy. Staff is polite and apologizes for everything, but there is no effort made to resolve anything. Took 4 requests just to get hot water for a cup of tea, and then had to wait another 10 for a clean cup, by that time it was time for my body treatment. I was in tears by this point. The cleanliness, attention to detail and customer service is horribly lacking. An unannounced state board visit would be a great wake up call for the Purdue location. The body treatment shower was so dirty that it ruined the treatment for me. The bathrooms are always dirty. The rugs and chairs are so old and dingy look like they've rarely if ever been cleaned. The spa robes are torn and tattered. The salon is a issue of product quality. After a recent all over color, my virgin hair has become dry, brittle, frizzy and severely damaged to the point it falls out everywhere. Will be filing a complaint with the North Carolina Board of Cosmetic Examiners for sanitation issues, hopefully that will encourage an inspection

I came into my appointment with Nicole without having an idea of what I was really wanting except the type of cut I wanted. I knew that I wanted a color change, but again, I didn't know what I wanted to do. I left it up to Nicole to decide what she thought would work on me for both color and cut. She did amazingly!! She is now my go to girl for working her magic on my hair.

Customer Service has apparently not been considered on the new owner Mrs. Spencer's agenda. Unfortunately, after many services of satisfaction in the past years, this business has succumb to greed. Mrs. Spencer refuses to honor any gift cards from the year 2017 and older due to her Asset Purchase. She is only concerned with her legal obligations and not customer service. I am in local customer service and strive to daily satisfy our clients. I took the time to contact Mrs. Spencer and ask if that was how she was going to handle business as well. Sadly it is not. I can now tell by other reviews that this is the norm now. Being in customer service I know two things (1) a review can damage you for a long long time..social media has positives and negatives (2) it takes longer to get new business than to satisfy and keep current business happy and coming. I am not a fan of taking action in reviews, however I am appalled by my conversation with an owner who refuses to even put a sign on the door of new policies that include not honoring gift cards. She informed me that there was a sign at the front desk for two months prior to when I came in and didn't feel it was needed anymore. She informed that i could have listened to the local news or went through a few pages of social media. Again, no where on the official website or door was this posted. Please beware of this new policy as well as any customer service dealings with the spa and management.

Had the most amazing experience ever with my manicure. I had shellac on my nails and it was time for a change. Tylice did my manicure and it is the best I've ever had. Not only was she insanely sweet but her lines are so clean and she tripled checked ever nail. She cleaned under my nails and even made cleaned up my polish where I didn't think it was needed. She made sure it was up to the highest standard. I can't tell you how many times i've looked down at my nails and I am just amazed! Thank you Tylice. I will be back!!!!!

I purchased a pre-paid massage series that never expires that are now not being honored. Had zero notice to use them and that they were changing to new owners who will not honor them. Both parties involved should have known that what they were doing is wrong! My gift cards can't be used either. Look up the article on ABC 11 about it. From the time I walked in to the time I left I received wonderful, friendly service especially my nail tech Kayla Kinlaw. She was very gentle while doing my nails, and listened, I mean actually listened to me when I was speaking (she really gave great advice,too). And for people who are ignorant to the fact that when you sign a contract with a GYM, yes a GYM, you are actually leasing out a "SPACE" that you intend to pay for continually regardless of use. Had a pedicure today and my provider, Natalie, was great. However, the front desk staff was less than adequate. I should have gotten percentages off for my VIP membership, but did not. Neither would they honor my rewards certificates (and don't excuse this by claiming they were outdated!). I spent quite some money in this place over time! This type of rip-off is a shame and a disgrace. No apologies when I called back. Be assured that I will spread the word on this!

Save your money and go somewhere else. I got a $90 pedicure. There is no massaging chair just a vibrating one and no music. The massage they give you is very bland, I felt like my kid was massaging me, I had a way better one during my facial. It was supposed to last 80 min but I was told I was done in 70 min. I asked about my 10 min and the front desk girl told me that its booked for 80 min but you only get 70. That's not what is advertised. I wasnt offered gel polish for toes just basic polish. The polish job is uneven. My feet are very soft but overall I'm very disappointed in the pedicure service and will never be going back.

I can't say enough about my pleasant experience with the new owner, Natalie. She was extremely kind and understanding over a past gift card I had not used in time. Natalie's hospitality was much appreciated and the accommodations she made for me were not her responsibility but she felt it was the right thing to do. She exemplified the best customer service I could have imagined. I have always loved my massages from the Renaissance and look forward to my next one. I hope others will stop listening to gossip and untrue chatter and will contact this company themselves to see firsthand that they are doing more than they are obligated to do and all while being slandered and put in a beyond stressful situation. Kudos to REDS Purdue Location, Natalie and the entire staff.
