If I could give negative stars I would. I made a 4:30 appointment for a mani/pedi. I arrived approximately 8 minutes early. Approximately 8 minutes after my appointment was supposed to start a lady who came in after me was taken back to get her nails done. About 3-4 minutes after that (which is more than 10 minutes past my appointment time), someone came to tell me they were running behind. The room was double-booked. It was going to be another 15-20 minutes. What is the point of making an appointment if you don't get taken back until 30 minutes after your appointment time. Furthermore I had already been sitting there for almost 20 minutes before someone told me there was a problem. I had another appointment scheduled for later and was unable to stay for 30 minutes after my originally scheduled appointment time. I asked for a full refund. The receptionist told me that she refunded my money. When I got home, I saw that my money had not been refunded. I called back and spoke to the receptionist, she told me that she needed to talk to a manager because she didn't know how to process a refund. Why did she tell me she refunded my money if she didn't? I asked her to call me once she was able to process the refund. I never got a call from her. I sent an email and asked for a manager to call me. The manager sent me an email receipt of the refund. She also called to tell me this. She said she would investigate what happened and call me back. She never called me back I wasted and hour of my time just to get a refund and no services. It was a 15 minute drive to and from and then I sat there for 20 minutes before someone told me there was a problem..

I loved my first experience at I Am. My hair is lightened to cold platinum and I had about an inch+ of dark brown roots. Madison and Megan lifted my roots with no problem with no discomfort. Discomfort is something that I've come to expect with the extreme lightening and Icy/white blonde I expect. I looked like a natural platinum blonde in the end and that's not easy to achieve in one sitting. Also, after that, I had a Brazilian wax scheduled with Sunni and it was perfect and practically painless. I have been getting waxed for six years and I had to take a hiatus from getting waxed due to moving to Wilmington. Starting over is always hard when it comes to waxing. Sunni did a serious job well done. It's good to be smooth and I love my hair. So long as I am in Wilmington, I will get all services done at, "I am" thanks ladies, for everything... especially making a new girl in town feel welcome.

Ownership and/or management has changed since first of the year since the last time I was there and seems a more friendly atmosphere with additional services offered. I was offered water, coffee or glass of wine when I checked in yesterday, I was also offered a few different relaxing complimentary services with my wash,cut,style. I was greeted as soon as I walked in by Alexandra then greeted by Shannon, who I booked an appt with since my usual stylist wasn't available. Great service, fantastic haircut, Shannon was precise and very detailed to make sure my haircut was way over and above. I miss Kristen Gainey, Estetician, an employee with a upmost fantastic personality and fantastic services, she has skills!!! have always used an Aveda Concept Salon because of the all natural products used. Only complaint to get 10% off my next visit I had to take time to sign up/create an account with Google to do this review when before you could get offers via I AM Salon's website and Facebook page, not anymore and no birthday promotions like the other owners/management offered. Every dollar and percentage off any services these days, goes along way!

I used to bounce around from salon to salon until I found I AM Salon and Day Spa. Once Grace cut my hair, I won't go anywhere else. I have really long thick hair and she did an amazing job (even with my vague instructions). Although I don't get my hair cut often and I live in Chapel Hill now, I always get my hair cut here when I visit Wilmington. The other staff is super courteous and helpful when making an appointment and coming in. I love it!

Shady dealings.It used to be a great salon. I was going there for years. When I discreetly mentioned the decline quality of the service, I was quickly dismissed. Then they decided to overcharge on services previously worked out. Not worth the money. There are a lot of great choices in Wilmington.

I had the express pedi. The toes look good, and the pedicurist was nice, but lacked deft fingers, so some things (e.g., cuticle trims) were kind of painful. I'll go back, but perhaps will try someone else. The salon is clean, and the cucumber water was very refreshing.

Pleasant experience..but not comparable to the facial I had received at a marriott spa a couple of monrhs ago. A bit rushed ..but still relaxing . The woman doing the facial was very personable..the only negative is that she tried to sell me some product on way out...I don't like that. But on the positive sign..I was actually sick and missed scheduled appointment and they rescheduled me even though they didnt have to. Well worth the money...actually cost was low for service.

I'm new to the Wilmington area and I was looking for a good place to go get a haircut, I did a lot of online review search and found a lot of positive reviews on I AM Salon. So I called them up and the receptionist was super nice and was able to get me in for an appointment with Megan 30 minutes after I called! I got to the Salon and told them I was there for an appointment with Megan, she greeted me with a friendly smile and took me back to the Salon chair. She asked what I wanted to have done and I told her what I thought I wanted to do, she gave me really good feedback and agreed a shorter look would be perfect on me. Megan was really helpful! she explained the products she was using and why she loved them. She took a before and after picture since we chopped so much of my hair off and was really excited to send it to me and told me to let her know what my boyfriend thought once he saw it (since he had no idea I was cutting my hair that short). I didn't feel an awkward moment which sometimes you can when you go to a new place for a cut, the other stylist chit chatted with Megan and I about common interests and stuff to do in the area when she was done with her client. Overall the experience was great! the price was pretty normal for an upper class salon and I love that they do everything there, cuts, colors, waxing, massages, etc. I have another appointment this week for my trim! They do a great job of making you feel welcome, making sure you love the work and also a really friendly receptionist staff. I would defiantly recommend I AM Salon and Megan to anyone looking for a great place to get a cut in the Wilmington area!

I showed a picture if the color I wanted my hair. It ended up coming out all wrong and I mentioned that I didn't like it because it wasn't anything close to what I picked out. They kept saying it will wash out. No silver hair won't wash out! They worst part was the top of my hair didn't didn't take the toner and my hair was that nasty orange yellow color that you get when the bleach dark hair. They ended up fixing it but it was still a embarrassment to have to go to work with my hair like that! I have very curly hair and straightened it after they fixed the color only to find out my hair cut is crooked that I paid $45 for! I also came in to show someone what what I wanted so they had enough time for my appointment and I knew how much it would be. I was told one thing and then ended up being charged more. Super disappointed and won't be going back!

I do not wish to give this place a rate, so would have no stars in my opinion! I thought that using and searching for a place to get a facial would send me in the right direction. Well I was wrong, DONT GO WITH THE FIRST SEARCH YOU SEE< OR HIGHER RANKED, they definitely pay to be there! I received a facial from a girl that stated she was owner, Sunni? Well, I was shocked to see who really was or acted as the skin care expertise, I was told she was. When applying the "skin care" it burned, which I informed her of, but seemed that her being on the phone was more important. There was never an explanation, even after the service was done, to inform me of what I had received and what it was to do.....but her phone was in hand and stated " Will see you out front with a glass of water". Ok....great.....not really! As I head upfront, I see her laughing and looking on phone yet again.....great! "thank you so much, do you have that water, ?" ....Ohhhhhh..."I am sorry, but here are the products I used, and think these are best for you to take with you"......UMMM yeah 200 dollars? And no, cause what are these?.......No water, and def no product bought.......hands down worst customer service and lack of my needs, for theirs, that I have ever seen!!!! DONT TRUST FIRST POP UP ON SEARCHES!!!!!

My first day at I Am Salon was Saturday July 12th for an eyebrow wax by Sunni Rogers. She was so sweet, caring, and very professional. She did an amazing job on cleaning up my eyebrows. I will be back to see her in the near future, she was that great. I was offered water when I waiting and during my wax. The ladies at the front desk are also sweet and welcoming. Now the reason why I'm giving only 4 stars, cause yesterday Sunday July 13th I came in for an Classic Mani/Pedi before my baby shower. I had Kristy Shelton, she was nice, but in the beginning of my pedicure she wasn't too enthusiasm, she acted like she didn't want to be there at all, I felt rushed and she wasn't very gentle during the process whens she was trimming/pushing the cuticles (it wasn't a pleasant feeling) as if she was in a hurry to get out of there. Also she would use the same towel to dry my feet for her personal needs like itching her face with her fingers and wiping them on the towel and even used it to wipe something off the corner of her mouth which was gross and unprofessional. As for the Manicure which was supposed to have been the Classic, she didn't give me the treatment that was described on the website, instead I got basic treatment which was the Express Manicure and was still charged for it. It also wasn't very enjoyable since she filed the heck out of my fingers and they're still sore and red. All and all Kristy did a good job on my nails and the conversation was descent. But maybe next time I'll try a different Nail Technician. Other than that I find the salon nice and clean with a nice atmosphere. It's close to where I live. I am still looking forward to my Pregnant Massage and hopefully it will be a great experience.

One of the worst things about moving is having to shop for new service providers, I tried I AM Salon after my daughter went there to get her hair done for prom. We were thrilled with the results, so I made an appointment. Now I've been going there for several months. Here are the reasons I like the salon (besides the great cut). The staff is friendly, helpful, and not gossipy; parking is easy; the prices are reasonable; you get to select a complimentary Aveda therapy with each cut; they have massages, skin care, and mani/pedis; they have monthly specials that are a great way to try new services; so far, they have run on time. Megan has become my new hair stylist. I try to color my hair at home and should know by now that it's best to leave it to a professional...I went in yesterday to have my brassy hair toned down. We talked about what I didn't like about the hair color. She matched up a good tone to accommodate my highlights and tone down my brassy roots! She also gave me tips on blow drying my hair with a round brush. :)

I had a sports injury on Wednesday evening--ended up in the emergency room with severe dehydration and cramping. Was very sore on Thursday. Scheduled a 1.5 hour massage with Kendon Turner on Friday. By Friday night, I was so much better and Saturday morning all of the aches and pains were gone. Thank you for helping me through the experience. Will be back soon!

I was just in today for a massage- which was amazing Lydia did a great job. However the whole thing seemed a little rushed. I thought I had signed up for a later time but hadn’t and granted after showing up around 3:02 (appt at 3) no one was there at the counter- totally ok but by the time I sat down, was given water, then taken back, and talked with Lydia it was around 3:20 that my massage started. I was a little disappointed when it finished promptly at 4. I mentioned something to the lady at the front desk and she asked if I didn’t feel like it was right... I didn’t and tried to express this but she said it’s because she was prepping for her next client and I wasn’t really apologized to. I understand that there has to be time for other clients and I was running a few minutes late but maybe next time with a window of time the massage can actually be 60 min not 60 min for the waiting, talking, and changing.

I AM Salon is wonderful! I moved to NC several years ago and had the hardest time finding a salon I liked. I tried about 5 different places all over town, and finally stumbled upon I AM and was lucky enough to get Grace Black as my stylist! I am very happy with I Am Salon and Spa. Everyone wants to make sure you are happy with their services before you leave. This salon is easy to find and just minutes from my home. I would suggest I AM SALON & SPA for a wedding party to have everything done in one location. (hair, nails, massage, make-up. etc) They even carry some jewelry, make-up you can purchase and body scents, etc. I've even purchased gift card that they have a special on during the Christmas holiday.

I came in for a long pixie cut I asked for it to be asymmetrical and my hair dresser responded "umm...I don't really want to" I got her to do it anyways but later on she asked if I wanted her to do more texturing and I said no but she proceeded to do it anyways I got a call to ask to allow them to fix it and I agreed The second hair dresser, Brittany, was so nice and we had a a good time. I will be back to see her.
